What is e-waste?

Electronic waste (e-waste) refers to discarded electrical and electronic equipment containing hazardous materials that require special handling and recycling methods. For instance, magnets and circuit boards often contain cadium, mercury, lead, and other toxic heavy meatals that can leach into the soil and contaminate ground water.

Examples of e-waste include household appliances, consumer electronics, electric office equipment, lighting—anything that was powered by electricity.

Be a Part of the Solution

Americans dump more than 2 million small appliances into landfills each year***—including microwave ovens. Panasonic has taken steps to help prevent e-waste and encourage consumers to recycle responsibly.

Panasonic products are built to last. But when the time comes to replace your microwave, our plan makes it easy. Your old microwave won’t need to go further than your doorstep, and we’ll bring your new microwave right to you!
