Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing A great television. Amazing picture quality and features truly distinguish this set from all others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Just, wow. I just hooked up and began using my 65ZT60 yesterday. My previous TV was a 55VT30 from 2011. Both were professionally calibrated with ISF DAY/NIGHT modes for both 2D and 3D. Between the two, there simply is no contest. First, the VT30 is pretty dim compared to the ZT60. I happily lived with it thinking that’s just how plasmas look but the ZT is a lot brighter even in night modes. How anyone would find the ZT60 too dim is beyond me, it far outperforms the VT30 in brightness and really gives everything I watch on it a spectacular look. The VT30 is obviously a really good set in its own right but the ZT is truly in another league altogether and for the price, it should be. Black level is really deep, dark and rich giving images real pop, power and emotive involvement. Colors look fantastically punchy and vibrant but realistic and not overdone. Contrast is this set’s strong suit and it shows in everything I’ve watched on it so far. Tron blu-ray (2D), Avatar (3D) and I’m watching football in high def right now and it looks truly great. An Infinity commercial just played and it has one of their cars in front of a black background and gray lower half, the black behind the car was so deep and inky that it made the car in the foreground really stand out. I’ve only watched a few scenes of Avatar in 3D but those few scenes looked much better on the ZT than they ever did on the VT30. I’m guessing it’s equally due to the bigger size of the ZT, the much improved brightness, black levels and contrast of the ZT. Avatar looked bright, colorful, punchy and simply beautiful on the ZT. Not only was the 3D effect more apparent, there were less double images, less ghosting and the entire image just seemed sharper overall. During the day I have a lot of ambient light in my living room (really dark at night though) where the ZT is set up but this TV performs excellently in these conditions, again, much better than the VT30. Contrast remains strong almost regardless of how much light is in my living room. I use a home theater set up for sound so I haven’t and likely won’t listen to the TV’s speakers. It’s only been a day but so far I am really amazed by how good this set looks no matter what I’m watching. I love this thing (so far). This seems like what TV should look like, there’s so much detail in every image, things I know the VT30 missed. Oh, thankfully the dealer had Panasonic complete the “fan noise” fix before I picked it up yesterday and I haven’t heard a peep from the fans. I have heard a very low level buzz at times when I’ve had the volume really low or muted, it hasn’t bothered me at all however. By comparison, the VT30 never buzzed audibly unless you put your ear to the very rear of the panel. This one buzzes a little more audibly occasionally but never to an annoying degree plus it is a bigger, much brighter plasma so I just can’t complain. After watching this thing in action, I believe it is “The Reference TV”.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Captain Video Was in the market for a Plasma from the leader in Plasmas so I was led to believe with the hype on them on line, so decided to spring for this one. The result was better than I expected after about a months wait, but after a brief setup, a super clear picture and easy learning. I did not use the TVs audio, and was using my old 7 channel setup which was not a problem to install with this set as a monitor for video. Also hooked up a Panasonic 330 BD player with top marks on the 3D, which at first, I wasn't interested in, but seeing as how most new sets will be 3D compatible, thought I might as well go with it. Love all the results.....cannot see how anything could be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Just got our 65ZT60 setup yesterday. Really nice unit. Not sure why some people have stated the sound doesn't work that well on the unit. Why in the world would someone spend this kind of money on a TV and not have a separate surround sound system is beyond me. Anyway. I love this TV. Awesome picture, great features, love the swipe from my Android phone to screen app. If you don't mind spending the money then this is the set to get.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the price I have had my 65zt for a week. The picture is great. The audio is only fair. The rear facing speakers do not give very good sound when watching without surround sound. The fan noise is very loud. I have some hearing loss but I can still hear the fan when the volume is low. I do not understand how such an expensive tv could have this loud of a fan noise. This is not a new issue for Panasonic Plasma TVs. Three HDMI inputs is not enough. Documentation is very poor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loud Fan Buzz Ruins Great Picture The picture is amazing. The blacks are very good and the settings out of the box are pretty accurate. Unfortunately all this is ruined due to a really loud fan that is easily heard over the tv volume.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the best TV ever made. The ZT60 is not the brightest TV made but for dark to bright room situations it produces the best picture quality of any TV ever made. (Yes, including the Kuro.) The ZT60 is all about picture quality but it also offers all the bells and whistles--WiFi, ARC, 3D and a whole slew of apps, including the popular streaming apps from Netflix, YouTube, etc. Mine works great but there have been complaints from more than a few people that the fans are VERY loud. To date Panasonic has not addressed this occasional but persistent issue.

  • I can access other Apps on my TV, but cannot access Netflix. How can I fix this?
    Symptoms:
    • When the Netflix app is selected, the Netflix splash screen appears, then Netflix closes and returns to the VIERA Cast home screen, Network Services screen, or HOME screen.
    • When the Netflix app is selected, "Unable to Connect to Netflix. Please Try Again Later" is displayed
    • Netflix can be accessed, but when a title is selected, "Unable to Play This Title Right Now. Please Try Again Later" is displayed.
    • Netflix can be accessed, a title can be selected, but during playback the picture blanks out, buffers, or freezes frequently.

    Additional Information:
    • Network applications on Panasonic products are only accessible on networks with high speed internet access.

    Suggested Solution:
    • Power the Netflix ready device on and allow at least 90 seconds for it to connect to the network before performing a Connection Test.
    • Once the Connection Test has passed, attempt to open the Netflix application. If the Netflix application fails to open, manually change the Primary DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4. If there is only one DNS setting available, change it to 8.8.8.8 (click here for a TV network troubleshooting tutorial.)
    • Once the DNS has been changed, perform another Connection Test.
    • Once the Connection Test has passed, attempt to open the Netflix application.
    • If none of your applications can be accessed, unplug the power cord of your modem or router for at least 10 seconds. This will reboot your modem or router.
    • If the Netflix application still fails to open, try another network application. If other applications function properly but Netflix does not click here for Netflix Help Center or call Netflix customer support at 1-866-716-0414.

  • The power light on the TV is on steady, but I do not have a picture, sound or both?
This could be caused by a few factors:

First check to ensure your TV is selected to the correct input (Source). If you are watching cable or satellite, following the cable from that device to the back of your TV.
If it is connected to antenna, HDMI 1/2/3, component or video you must also have the TV input select to match that connection. On the remote push the input button to check what source is selected on your TV.
Very important, you must ensure your cable box or satellite unit is turned on.
On some cable and satellite boxes, you may get audio with no picture if the box is turned off. If this does not resolve your issue, you may require service.
