Studio Master Panel

The Studio Master Panel featured in our top-of-the-line ZT60 Series Plasma TVs offers reference-level optical performance with superb bright-field contrast and sharp, crisp images. By eliminating the conventional air layer between the panel and the front glass, the Studio Master Panel minimizes reflections from external light, and improves panel light transmission, for the ultimate in big screen picture quality.

Ultimate Black

Enjoy remarkable contrast with incredibly deep black levels, even in bright rooms. Enhancements we've made to the panel and cells allow for images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks rendered with meticulous detail for heightened realism and power. Now you can experience movies the way the director intended, right in your own home.

30,720 Gradation Steps with DCI 98% Color Space

By increasing the number of sub-fields, we're able to control the light emission of each individual cell in 30,720 steps, resulting in smooth, highly nuanced color gradation. From jet black to brilliant white, the system produces rich, dimensional images with seamless color variation.
  • When using Cinema mode.

A dramatic improvement in the color purity of the red phosphor has further expanded the color range. It now covers 98% of DCI studio standards and 122% of ITU standards. It ensures full reproduction of vivid colors from all types of image sources.

THX 3D Certified

Turn your living room into a theater, with the incredible 2D and 3D picture performance of a Smart VIERA HDTV. A Smart VIERA meets THX requirements for brightness, sharpness, gamma and color reproduction, ensuring that both your 2D and 3D viewing experience will be second to none.

3,000 Focused Field Drive — For Crisp, Clear Moving Pictures

Enjoy crisp, clear images, even during hi-speed action scenes, thanks to a combination of enhanced phosphors and original Panasonic technologies specifically engineered for motion image performance. With sub-field control optimizing light emissions at a rate of 1/3,000th of a second, you're assured of dynamic sports images and breathtaking fast action scenes rendered with stunning clarity.

1080p Full HD Resolution, Full HD 3D

Not only will you enjoy the ultimate 2D picture quality with Full 1080p HD resolution, but unlike many other 3D capable TVs, you'll also get full 1080p resolution in 3D mode. The 3D effect is created when the display works in concert with special 3D eyewear to send separate and slightly different images to each eye. This generally means that each eye is seeing an image with only half the normal picture resolution. But with Panasonic Full HD 3D and our Active Shutter Eyewear, each eye sees an image with Full 1080p resolution for a 3D experience of incredible depth and realism.
  • 3D eyewear is required for 3D images

Dual Core Hexa-Processing Engine

The Dual Core Hexa Processor analyzes and optimizes every image, for crisp, detailed pictures even during fast-paced action. This powerful engine also streamlines multi-tasking between the television's smart functions. Run applications, search via the web browser, or stream content quickly and seamlessly without delays or lags.

VIERA Connect

VIERA Connect provides cloud-based access to Internet content to bring you Video-on-Demand (VOD), catch-up TV, games, educational content and much more...all through a wide range of apps. It's a great way to enjoy virtually limitless content on your Smart VIERA HDTV.
  • Requires broadband Internet service.

VIERA remote 2

VIERA remote 2 is a free app, available for download from any iOS or Android app store, that lets you use your smartphone or tablet device as a remote control for the TV, allowing you to not only change channels, inputs and adjust volume, but also adjust settings like Color, Brightness or Contrast. It also lets you use your mobile device as a second screen to view personal videos or pictures loaded to the TV via SD slot or USB port. Now you can share content with friends and family on your mobile device, even while broadcast programming continues to play on the big screen.
  • Requires iOS 5.0.1 or later, and Android
  • Requires a wireless LAN connection.

Web Browser

Share and enjoy web content on the big screen, thanks to the HTML5 compatible browser featured in Smart VIERA HDTVs. It's just like the browser on your PC, but much better for sharing content with family and friends.

Wireless LAN Built-In

Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, no additional equipment is needed to connect your Smart VIERA TV with an existing wireless router on your home network. The TV will automatically detect available networks and take you through an easy setup process.

Electronic Touch Pen (optional accessory)

Our innovative Touch Pen allows you to interact with the TV in a variety of ways. You can use the screen as a virtual whiteboard and write memos to other members of the household. You can also edit pictures by adding captions or drawing right on the image. It's also great for playing games and operating apps.

Media Player — Easily Play Content Saved in a Variety of Formats

You can easily transfer content from a USB device to enjoy on the big screen. You can add frames and other effects to your photos and videos, and create slideshows complete with background music. A wide variety of formats are supported, so you can listen to PC-based music files and view web movies right on your TV.
  • Applicable formats vary depending on the model.

DLNA — A Home Network Linking Your Entire House

A DLNA-compatible VIERA makes it easier than ever to enjoy your personal content by linking all of your devices in a smart home network. Now you can access the content stored on other devices on the network, regardless of where they're located in your home, and view them on your Smart VIERA TV.

Environment-Friendly Panel — Mercury and Lead Free

Panasonic is committed to making our products friendlier to the environment. In line with this commitment, all VIERA plasma display panels are free of both lead and mercury. This reduces the impact on the environment years down the road when the TV is recycled or retired from use.

Long Panel Life — For Years of Beautiful Images

One important way consumers can protect the environment is by choosing high-quality products and taking care of them so they last for a long time. A high-quality VIERA HDTV can help. Thanks to design innovations, our plasma panels last for up to 100,000 hours before the brightness decreases by half. That's more than 30 years of viewing 8 hours a day!
  • This measurement is based on the time taken for the brightness of the panel to reduce to half of its maximum level. The time taken to reach this level may vary depending on the image content and the environment where the TV is used. Image retention and malfunctions are not taken into account.

Automatic Power Save

Smart VIERA HDTVs are engineered to be eco-responsible. They conserve energy by automatically adjusting brightness depending on room conditions, and by powering down after brief periods of inactivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing A great television. Amazing picture quality and features truly distinguish this set from all others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Just, wow. I just hooked up and began using my 65ZT60 yesterday. My previous TV was a 55VT30 from 2011. Both were professionally calibrated with ISF DAY/NIGHT modes for both 2D and 3D. Between the two, there simply is no contest. First, the VT30 is pretty dim compared to the ZT60. I happily lived with it thinking that’s just how plasmas look but the ZT is a lot brighter even in night modes. How anyone would find the ZT60 too dim is beyond me, it far outperforms the VT30 in brightness and really gives everything I watch on it a spectacular look. The VT30 is obviously a really good set in its own right but the ZT is truly in another league altogether and for the price, it should be. Black level is really deep, dark and rich giving images real pop, power and emotive involvement. Colors look fantastically punchy and vibrant but realistic and not overdone. Contrast is this set’s strong suit and it shows in everything I’ve watched on it so far. Tron blu-ray (2D), Avatar (3D) and I’m watching football in high def right now and it looks truly great. An Infinity commercial just played and it has one of their cars in front of a black background and gray lower half, the black behind the car was so deep and inky that it made the car in the foreground really stand out. I’ve only watched a few scenes of Avatar in 3D but those few scenes looked much better on the ZT than they ever did on the VT30. I’m guessing it’s equally due to the bigger size of the ZT, the much improved brightness, black levels and contrast of the ZT. Avatar looked bright, colorful, punchy and simply beautiful on the ZT. Not only was the 3D effect more apparent, there were less double images, less ghosting and the entire image just seemed sharper overall. During the day I have a lot of ambient light in my living room (really dark at night though) where the ZT is set up but this TV performs excellently in these conditions, again, much better than the VT30. Contrast remains strong almost regardless of how much light is in my living room. I use a home theater set up for sound so I haven’t and likely won’t listen to the TV’s speakers. It’s only been a day but so far I am really amazed by how good this set looks no matter what I’m watching. I love this thing (so far). This seems like what TV should look like, there’s so much detail in every image, things I know the VT30 missed. Oh, thankfully the dealer had Panasonic complete the “fan noise” fix before I picked it up yesterday and I haven’t heard a peep from the fans. I have heard a very low level buzz at times when I’ve had the volume really low or muted, it hasn’t bothered me at all however. By comparison, the VT30 never buzzed audibly unless you put your ear to the very rear of the panel. This one buzzes a little more audibly occasionally but never to an annoying degree plus it is a bigger, much brighter plasma so I just can’t complain. After watching this thing in action, I believe it is “The Reference TV”.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Captain Video Was in the market for a Plasma from the leader in Plasmas so I was led to believe with the hype on them on line, so decided to spring for this one. The result was better than I expected after about a months wait, but after a brief setup, a super clear picture and easy learning. I did not use the TVs audio, and was using my old 7 channel setup which was not a problem to install with this set as a monitor for video. Also hooked up a Panasonic 330 BD player with top marks on the 3D, which at first, I wasn't interested in, but seeing as how most new sets will be 3D compatible, thought I might as well go with it. Love all the results.....cannot see how anything could be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Just got our 65ZT60 setup yesterday. Really nice unit. Not sure why some people have stated the sound doesn't work that well on the unit. Why in the world would someone spend this kind of money on a TV and not have a separate surround sound system is beyond me. Anyway. I love this TV. Awesome picture, great features, love the swipe from my Android phone to screen app. If you don't mind spending the money then this is the set to get.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the price I have had my 65zt for a week. The picture is great. The audio is only fair. The rear facing speakers do not give very good sound when watching without surround sound. The fan noise is very loud. I have some hearing loss but I can still hear the fan when the volume is low. I do not understand how such an expensive tv could have this loud of a fan noise. This is not a new issue for Panasonic Plasma TVs. Three HDMI inputs is not enough. Documentation is very poor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loud Fan Buzz Ruins Great Picture The picture is amazing. The blacks are very good and the settings out of the box are pretty accurate. Unfortunately all this is ruined due to a really loud fan that is easily heard over the tv volume.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the best TV ever made. The ZT60 is not the brightest TV made but for dark to bright room situations it produces the best picture quality of any TV ever made. (Yes, including the Kuro.) The ZT60 is all about picture quality but it also offers all the bells and whistles--WiFi, ARC, 3D and a whole slew of apps, including the popular streaming apps from Netflix, YouTube, etc. Mine works great but there have been complaints from more than a few people that the fans are VERY loud. To date Panasonic has not addressed this occasional but persistent issue.

  • I can access other Apps on my TV, but cannot access Netflix. How can I fix this?
    Symptoms:
    • When the Netflix app is selected, the Netflix splash screen appears, then Netflix closes and returns to the VIERA Cast home screen, Network Services screen, or HOME screen.
    • When the Netflix app is selected, "Unable to Connect to Netflix. Please Try Again Later" is displayed
    • Netflix can be accessed, but when a title is selected, "Unable to Play This Title Right Now. Please Try Again Later" is displayed.
    • Netflix can be accessed, a title can be selected, but during playback the picture blanks out, buffers, or freezes frequently.

    Additional Information:
    • Network applications on Panasonic products are only accessible on networks with high speed internet access.

    Suggested Solution:
    • Power the Netflix ready device on and allow at least 90 seconds for it to connect to the network before performing a Connection Test.
    • Once the Connection Test has passed, attempt to open the Netflix application. If the Netflix application fails to open, manually change the Primary DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4. If there is only one DNS setting available, change it to 8.8.8.8 (click here for a TV network troubleshooting tutorial.)
    • Once the DNS has been changed, perform another Connection Test.
    • Once the Connection Test has passed, attempt to open the Netflix application.
    • If none of your applications can be accessed, unplug the power cord of your modem or router for at least 10 seconds. This will reboot your modem or router.
    • If the Netflix application still fails to open, try another network application. If other applications function properly but Netflix does not click here for Netflix Help Center or call Netflix customer support at 1-866-716-0414.

  • The power light on the TV is on steady, but I do not have a picture, sound or both?
This could be caused by a few factors:

First check to ensure your TV is selected to the correct input (Source). If you are watching cable or satellite, following the cable from that device to the back of your TV.
If it is connected to antenna, HDMI 1/2/3, component or video you must also have the TV input select to match that connection. On the remote push the input button to check what source is selected on your TV.
Very important, you must ensure your cable box or satellite unit is turned on.
On some cable and satellite boxes, you may get audio with no picture if the box is turned off. If this does not resolve your issue, you may require service.
