Reviews

TC-P65VT50 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Installing Firmware Update does not work. After downloading the update onto SD card, I loaded onto TV. I received the (0004) msg; but, the TV did not update. I still get the annoying pop-up screen telling me there is an update. - The software will detect whether the TV has the latest firmware version. If it does, it will display the message: “Please check FILE in the SD Card (0004).” 6. Follow the on screen instructions. Once 100% is displayed, the TV will power off and back on again automatically indicating that the software has been updated. NOTHING HAPPENED. Also, this TV is hardwired to the Switch (which is connected to the Router) with its own IP address. Why can't I just download off the Web. Not very happy. Bob

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best High end TV PERIOD! Best High end TV I've owned. WAY better than my Samsung UN55C9000 (Samsungs Flagship TV).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning I knew I was going to be blown away by this TV going from a 15 year old rear projection unit but after a month I am still in awe of the picture quality. Out of the box the THX cinema setting provides an outstanding picture I have the professional calibration scheduled and I can't wait to see how that turns out. It's hard to imagine it being better but that is what I am told.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great TV, but Inbuilt Speakers Lack This television dwarfs my old 50". The features are top-notch, and the screen quality is honestly amazing. It's about an inch thick, and the glass covers nearly the entire front surface. With a blu-ray player, I upconverted Raiders of the Lost Ark on DVD, and it was magic. The sound is very muffled. A surround-sound system is impractical and unwanted for us, and I'm disappointed in the speakers. It sounds like somebody's sitting on the characters. The speakers are so ineffective that I originally thought the TV only had one speaker, which turned out to be the woofer. (There are two tiny speakers on the front bottom.) Even with the bass down and the treble up, the sound reminds me very much of Kenny McCormick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One Speaker? The television itself if amazing. It dwarfs my old 50" Panasonic. Many professional reviews say this is the best TV in the world, but what kind of TV has only monaural sound? I don't want surround sound cables running around my room; and I don't want to mount anything on my wall, so I don't want surround sound. The one speaker this TV has is muffled and useless.

FAQs
  • What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?
    Follow these troubleshooting steps:
    • Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
    • Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
    • After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.
If the outlet is working and the TV will not turn on after pressing the [POWER] button on the TV, please consider having the unit serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.
  • What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?
    1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
    2. Unplug all cables.
    3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

If the problem persists, please consider having the TV serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.

Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem.
  • What should I do if I can access all of the TV apps except Netflix?
    1. Change the DNS setting of your TV to 8.8.8.8.
    2. If you are able to access the Netflix splash screen, use the TV remote to deactivate your account by pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. After this process, try loggin back into the Netflix TV app.

If the procedure is successful a screen will come up with the option to deactivate your device from your account. If not try the process again. Once you have successfully deactivated your device, you will need to activate it by opening Netflix and at the main screen selecting Member Sign In, then following the on screen prompts until activation is complete.

If the Netflix app still fails to open, but all of the other TV apps work, visit help.netflix.com for more support.

  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
