TC-P60ST60 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still great, but not perfect. I love my ST60. The colors and deep blacks are still amazing. It does have a slight lag for playing video games, so it's not perfect. I hardly use 3D due to the lack of content on DirecTV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Theater Quality in your Living Room The first time we turned on our new Smart VIERA® ST60 Series Full HD Plasma TV, our ten month old daughter was frightened— she thought Mickey Mouse was about to hop out of the screen! The picture quality is startlingly realistic and the colors have a lot of depth. Whilst watching action movies or anything with speed, the picture moves very quickly. In video games, it’s almost as if the players come to life, making the gaming experience that much more fun. Watching a football or baseball game is just like being at the stadium. Cartoons are also that much better and our children are even more enthralled with their favorite shows! Another great feature of this t.v. is the ability to use a smartphone application to make your cell phone or tablet into a secondary remote. With two kids in the house, the remote is constantly lost so this is a very convenient feature and it is just as simple to use as the remote. The Swipe and Share 2.0 is also a really cool feature—it allows the viewer to beam pictures from the phone or tablet right onto the t.v. screen in one easy swipe! This is really great for viewing pictures on the big screen when guests come over to see photos--no more huddling over a small phone or tablet screen. The Home Screen on the t.v. allows you to set up a custom screen for multiple viewers or users. Just like a computer, you select the user and your custom home screen will pop up with the features and apps of your choice. For example, you could use a different background picture and set up difference applications. Each user could choose from a multitude of apps- weather, news, sports, cartoons…etc. I love turning on the t.v. and getting the news and weather simultaneously on my home screen. There are many apps to choose from, just like a smartphone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing picture quality! First thing you notice when you unbox the TV is how stunning it looks. I love the nice clean lines and the whole look of this high end TV especially at midlevel pricing. It is a plasma TV, but it does not have that bulky look like other plasma TVs have. I am not big fan of their TV stand, but since I hung the TV on my wall, it did not bother too much. Setting up the TV and getting it up and running was very easy. I am loving Pana’s Smart TV set up and apps. It was pretty much self-explanatory regarding the initial setup. By the way, I’m loving the Netflix button on the remote control. I stream a lot and this makes it very convenient to get to the home screen. TV Smart suite has tons of different applications: useful and not very useful. I actually was able to stream internet TV (sports) through the app on the TV. You can also use your smart phone/tablet to control your TV. I found it pretty useful since we usually lose our remote control. I had some small minor technical difficulties connecting to the TV, but after I connected it, it was a smooth experience. You also can transfer pictures to your TV. I found it to be a pretty neat feature if you have guests over and you don’t want everyone crowding around your desktop screen. And of course… the picture quality. Simply, it is just mind blowing (especially for this price range). The black levels are amazing! These are the deepest blacks I have ever seen and blow LED’s black levels. Super sharp image, wonderful contrast and nice viewing angles. My living room gets a lot of sunlight, but that does not affect the TV’s picture quality and you still have a nice sharp image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best upgrade ever: big box projection to this! Once you see the blacks and the clarity and the resolution, you will not be disappointed. I even assembled the stand and put the panel on it by myself! DO NOT TRY THIS! That was me being stupid. This unit has so many inputs and outputs that it will support any configuration you want to use it in. There was a tiny problem with the Audio Return Channel, but we do not watch much broadcast TV and the optical audio out made this all work, anyway. The price was incredible. Had enough budget left over to go ALL HDMI. (except for Nin game box, not Panasonic fault.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture! Great Value! This TV has a stunning picture, with one caveat: the "standard" viewing mode is much too dark with the factory settings. Beyond that, I don't have any major complaints. The "home theater" and "cinema" settings look marvelous in the factory mode, although I plan to use a calibration disk to set up everything. Unlike others, I have been able to turn off the sound for use with my surround sound system, but I have to confess I am not sure how it happened. I could not find an "external speakers only" check box. The TV just seemed to turn the internal speakers off by itself. They do play when I use the "self test" mode, but are turned off with the surround sound hooked up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Picture Excellent, Good Value, Kind of Ugly Visually, with the panel turned off - it is really ugly. It has a highly reflective shiny black bezel, surrounded by an even more reflective silver border. Our 9 y.o. Panny Plasma had a dull black border as do most flat panel sets. The reflective bezel is highly distracting unless you are able to watch in a fairly dark room. When it is sitting on the wall, the mirror like borders look weird. That said, if you want one of the best plasma pictures ever -this is the one to get. It is the best value for the money by far. This is our first "smart" TV. It is not ready for prime time. Other than the built-in Netflix app (which is perfect), other apps do not work properly. We called CS about the Facebook app. She said that, in effect doesn't work and we'd have to access it via the browser. Attempting to do that causes the browser to crash within 5 to 30 seconds of logging on to Facebook. Youtube does seem to work ok. Our internet is very fast - 20Mbs+. There are dozens of settings and ways for you to adjust the picture to your likings. As with all thin panels, you may want to think about getting external speakers. Contrary to other posts, you CAN turn off the built in speakers by turning the sound volume down to zero. Bottom line - If you want one of the best pictures and best value, get this model. If you want a handsome piece of furniture to hang on your wall, look at a diff. model.

  • I can access other Apps on my TV, but cannot access Netflix. How can I fix this?
    Symptoms:
    • When the Netflix app is selected, the Netflix splash screen appears, then Netflix closes and returns to the VIERA Cast home screen, Network Services screen, or HOME screen.
    • When the Netflix app is selected, "Unable to Connect to Netflix. Please Try Again Later" is displayed
    • Netflix can be accessed, but when a title is selected, "Unable to Play This Title Right Now. Please Try Again Later" is displayed.
    • Netflix can be accessed, a title can be selected, but during playback the picture blanks out, buffers, or freezes frequently.

    Additional Information:
    • Network applications on Panasonic products are only accessible on networks with high speed internet access.

    Suggested Solution:
    • Power the Netflix ready device on and allow at least 90 seconds for it to connect to the network before performing a Connection Test.
    • Once the Connection Test has passed, attempt to open the Netflix application. If the Netflix application fails to open, manually change the Primary DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4. If there is only one DNS setting available, change it to 8.8.8.8 (click here for a TV network troubleshooting tutorial.)
    • Once the DNS has been changed, perform another Connection Test.
    • Once the Connection Test has passed, attempt to open the Netflix application.
    • If none of your applications can be accessed, unplug the power cord of your modem or router for at least 10 seconds. This will reboot your modem or router.
    • If the Netflix application still fails to open, try another network application. If other applications function properly but Netflix does not click here for Netflix Help Center or call Netflix customer support at 1-866-716-0414.

  • The power light on the TV is on steady, but I do not have a picture, sound or both?
This could be caused by a few factors:

First check to ensure your TV is selected to the correct input (Source). If you are watching cable or satellite, following the cable from that device to the back of your TV.
If it is connected to antenna, HDMI 1/2/3, component or video you must also have the TV input select to match that connection. On the remote push the input button to check what source is selected on your TV.
Very important, you must ensure your cable box or satellite unit is turned on.
On some cable and satellite boxes, you may get audio with no picture if the box is turned off. If this does not resolve your issue, you may require service.
