Reviews

TC-P55VT50 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from VT50-series Plasma HDTV The Panasonic VIERA VT50-series plasma HDTV (since surpassed by the VT60-series and especially the ZT60-series) has been off the market for several years. But it's still worth a purchase, if you can get your hands on any lingering models from an authorized Panasonic dealer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tv ever Browser is very bad and not really usable. We watch flash based website for streaming movies and flash is not working and it is like 10 year old browser. Netflix/amazon and you tube looks great It is very dull if the light is bright and it is very good if I watch if i switch off room light or light dark room I have connected google tv buddy box to use chrome browser to use flash based website for stream movies and they have querty key board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT 3DTV I love this TV! I moved up from a Panasonic 55GT30 this year. I love the calibrated THX modes. 3D works great with the NEW glasses, If you dont have any glasses, go get some, and watch a good 3d movie like Avatar, Despicable me, etc. Amazon prime videos works great on this tv. Skype is fun. The music apps work good, I wish there was a way to black out the screen while listening to the music, but still have a way to pipe music to my theater speakers without turning off the tv. This would keep us from IR on the screen, but still be able to listen to the music Get some glasses and good 3D movies and have fun! Great 3DTV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank Goodness for this set I had a competitor LED TV. Fairly high end. I could not wrap my brain around it, but my eyes could never adjust to the picture. I tried many in depth calibration settings, but nothing worked to where I felt at ease watching the set. I always feared getting a plasma due to the old school worries. That said, I could not be more happy about getting this TV. The colors are amazing, but first and foremost, it feels natural to my eyes. I can finally watch TV without the fatigue I had with LED LCDs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best TV on the market today This TV far exceeded my expectations in every way. Connected to my router on the first try. I did my homework before I purchased this TV. Later, I read Consumer Reports rated this TV the best one they've ever tested to date. It's not very often CR gives anything that high a rating. Doing my homework paid off. I wanted a 60 inch screen size but this top of the line model comes in 55 and 65 inch only. Not a show stopper for me. I had it wall mounted on a full motion mount. I also purchased the smaller Panasonic 3D BluRay player. It's half the size of the other players.

FAQs
  • What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?
    Follow these troubleshooting steps:
    • Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
    • Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
    • After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.
If the outlet is working and the TV will not turn on after pressing the [POWER] button on the TV, please consider having the unit serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.
  • What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?
    1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
    2. Unplug all cables.
    3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

If the problem persists, please consider having the TV serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.

Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem.
  • What should I do if I can access all of the TV apps except Netflix?
    1. Change the DNS setting of your TV to 8.8.8.8.
    2. If you are able to access the Netflix splash screen, use the TV remote to deactivate your account by pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. After this process, try loggin back into the Netflix TV app.

If the procedure is successful a screen will come up with the option to deactivate your device from your account. If not try the process again. Once you have successfully deactivated your device, you will need to activate it by opening Netflix and at the main screen selecting Member Sign In, then following the on screen prompts until activation is complete.

If the Netflix app still fails to open, but all of the other TV apps work, visit help.netflix.com for more support.

  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
