TC-P55GT30 is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from EHhnn.. Since everyone seems to be writing about the positives, I'm going to forego the pros, and just focus on the cons, because I find these outweight the pros. I've got two of these TVs (One was a replacement for a VT25# and my biggest issue is VIERA connect, for some inexplicable reason, the cursor which indecates your viera connect application you want to run has disappeared from both TVs. It makes a -very- rare appearance, maybe once a month. But every other time you just have to listen for the 'ding' and hope you've got the righr application selected. Further more, the netflix app also seems to not be working correctly #whether this is a VC issue or not, I don't know#, but it constantly states that the service is unavailable, and takes upwards of 10 attempts to run the app to get it to actually open. If you don't plan on using either of these, it's not an issue, but here's what really kicks me. BURN IN.. Less than a year, and I've got visible burn-in on my screen #and I actually run a Plasma break-in DVD to try and prevent that, when I first bought this tv#. I mean it really is quite horrendous how fast the burn in set in, I've had a CRT monitor that lasted me 12 years and didn't even have any burn-in. Also, don't turn the bass up past +7 or you'll be hearing the tv vibrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Picture This is a great TV. At first I was a bit disappointed with the picture quality - low brightness, poor contrast and the colors were too vivid and unnatural but with some adjusting it dialed right in. The spectrum of gray levels and accurate color are the real upside to this TV. I thought it strange that the default settings were not set to provide a better picture out of the box. I suspect some of the negative reviews may be because of this. I've owned several Panasonic products and have always been happy them - good build quality and reliabilty. I have no regrets with this TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding in every way! I just got this TV and could not be more pleased with it. Plasmas still have tbe best picture in my opinion. Easy to set up, stunning picture and I love thw wireless features. Streaming content from my Win 7 PC is much easier than I thought. I honestly cannot find a fault with the TV. The only thing I don't love is the shape of the remote, but I will rarely have to use it since I programed my DirectTV remote to work with my new GT30.

FAQs
  • What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?
    Follow these troubleshooting steps:
    • Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
    • Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
    • After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.
If the outlet is working and the TV will not turn on after pressing the [POWER] button on the TV, please consider having the unit serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.
  • What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?
    1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
    2. Unplug all cables.
    3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

If the problem persists, please consider having the TV serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.

Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem.
  • What should I do if I can access all of the TV apps except Netflix?
    1. Change the DNS setting of your TV to 8.8.8.8.
    2. If you are able to access the Netflix splash screen, use the TV remote to deactivate your account by pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. After this process, try loggin back into the Netflix TV app.

If the procedure is successful a screen will come up with the option to deactivate your device from your account. If not try the process again. Once you have successfully deactivated your device, you will need to activate it by opening Netflix and at the main screen selecting Member Sign In, then following the on screen prompts until activation is complete.

If the Netflix app still fails to open, but all of the other TV apps work, visit help.netflix.com for more support.

  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
