TC-P42X60 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unsurpassed picture quality This TV is awesome whether HD or non HD. Best TV I've seen for non-HD channels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TV I've ever purchased Simple to set up, crystal clear picture and flawless motion anytime I'm watching it. It looks incredible when I'm using it for gaming. Love the bright colors and the cool features. Also had more than enough inputs for everything I needed, and was at a price point I couldn't beat. I've owned it for about a year and a half now and had no problems whatsoever! If I had the choice, I'd go back and do it again. Been an awesome TV!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not 2 bad I had trouble getting my t.v. to turn back on. Just becoming unpluged fried out the mother board, this took over 2 month's to get it fixed ! Just a few month's later it happened again ! And all this time my t.v. is pluged into a powersurge strip. Now this time it only took a few week's to fix. The t.v. repairman told me that Panasonic was having trouble with the motherboard's in the 42" plasma t.v.'s, but that they had found what was wrong and redone all the board's, and now I will not have any more trouble with my t.v.. It's been almost a year now and I haven't had any trouble at all ! They came out to my house to repair my set both time's, even after the hard time I gave them over the phone ! I am disabled, so both time's they had the repairman come to my house to fix my t.v.. They usally have you bring it to the shop to get it fixed. Now I couldn't be any happier with my set. Thank you Panasonic, Dennis D. McCallum, Buffalo,N.Y.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good TV but not good enough. Black is GRAY, not even close to S60's. 720P is not future-proof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for your buck Panasonic plasmas are the best in the business, and it shows in this entry level tv. To get something of this quality only 2 or 3 years ago would have cost 3 - 4 times the money. 720p is plenty for this size screen, especially since most broadcast HD is still 720p or 1080i. Perfect size for an apartment or master bedroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plasma, the REAL TV. Picture is HD but 720P is for 32". 1080P should be standard. The glass screen does not touch the slightly deformed plastic frame with rough edges (in the back). There is a small gap. It should be close like CRT TVs. Please fix it ASAP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Four years old and picture is still great! Awesome television! I've had this plasma screen for four years and I haven't noticed any change in picture quality. I'd recommend Panasonic Plasma Screens to anyone :-)

FAQs
  • What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?
    Follow these troubleshooting steps:
    • Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
    • Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
    • After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.
If the outlet is working and the TV will not turn on after pressing the [POWER] button on the TV, please consider having the unit serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.
  • What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?
    1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
    2. Unplug all cables.
    3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

If the problem persists, consider having the TV serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.

Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem.
  • What should I do if I get audio but no picture from an external device connected to my TV?
    • Try unplugging the cable between the TV and the external device and reconnecting it firmly on both sides.
    • Try unplugging the power cord of the external device for 30 seconds.
    • Try connecting another external device to the same input using the same cable.
    • If the picture returns on the second device, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the first external device you had connected for further troubleshooting.
    • Try using a different cable between your device and the TV using the same input of your TV. If you get a picture and audio, you may need to replace your cable.
    • Try another input of the TV to verify if there is an issue with the TV input the external device was connected to.
  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
