TC-L47DT50 is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too Many server errors I have continuous problems connecting to the Viera Connect server. The television itself is great, but I cannot use it when the servers go down. It has been worse over the last year. I experience outages at least once per week, sometimes several times. Since I do not have cable, I rely solely on Panasonic for connection to Netflix or other apps. I am very disappointed. Unless they fix the servers, I will not buy another smart tv from Panasonic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing I spent a few days researching 3D LED TVs and reading reviews, comparing features and everything else imaginable before I ran across the Panasonic Viera IPS LED LCD 3D HDTV and the more I read the description and details and features the more interested I became in the television. After all the research I did and comparisons between other manufacturers televisions the clearer the choice was that this was the TV for my wife and my bedroom. We initially planned on a 50" for our bedroom but I had set a budget and decided to go with the 47" model and when we got it here and setup in our bedroom I was actually glad we went with the 47" and even though there's only 3" inches difference in size I really think the 50" inch model would have been to large in our bedroom. From the time the box was delivered by ups to the time we had it up and running was about 10 minutes including mounting the base, installing the power cord and plugging in the three HDMI cables for our different sources which were a 3D BluRay player, HD DVR from DirecTV and our AppleTV Box. Next was the quick setup of the basic features and the wifi Internet connection which again was five minutes or less. Then we were ready to try it out and were immediately amazed with the picture quality as soon as we powered it on and selected our satellite input. We ordered three or four 3D movies at the same time to go with the half dozen 3D movies we already had in our collection, the first movie we put in was Avatar 3D and were instantly amazed at the stunning color and incredible depth in the picture without making any adjustments to the 3D settings, we bought the matching Panasonic Active Shutter 3D glasses to go with the TV since none came with the television which wasn't a big deal since they were less then $50.00 a pair and the cost of the TV was low enough to make the glasses easily affordable. I was expecting a bit if difficulty in setting up and watching 3D movies because I thought you'd have to manually setup and sync the BluRay player, 3D television and 3D glasses but not so, I turned on the BluRay player and TV and slid glasses power switch to on and a quick icon came up onscreen showing the battery level and the glasses syncing to the TV and it was done and watching stunning deep 3D content in less then a mi ute or two and there was no jitter, motion blur, or any other screen artifacts I've read about on other televisions of this type. After watching our first movie we were blown away with the 3D part of the TV and even more so with everything else the TV is capable of with apps and Internet browser and games and so many more features that this television is capable of handling... The only delay at all when setting up the TV was the software update which was pretty quick and was automatic and the TV was up to the latest software version. Overall we are so impressed we decided next payday to purchase this same model for our daughters bedroom because she loves it so much too, we had watched 3D movies on the older DVD type with the paper passive 3D glasses that has been available for a while before native 3D BluRay and 3D TVs were easily affordable and our daughter really didn't like the passive paper glasses type and bothered her and gave her headaches and eye strain so she was put off on the idea of watching with the new system and the active shutter glasses, but we talked her into giving the new system a try and she was hooked on it and had no ill effects at all with the new TV and BluRay player and active glasses. So now she is wanting a similar setup for her bedroom so next payday we will be buying another setup for our baby girl.. The only problem we had which is barely worth mentioning is that while watching TV it would just shut down out of the blue and we didn't know why because we had power saving and timers and keep setting all turned off until the third or fourth time it turned off and we turned it back on we noticed a message saying TH TV had been turned off due to inactivity so I carefully went through all the menus until I found the ECO menu which has setting for turning off the TV after 10 mi items and 3 hours and once we changed the settings to stay on we never had the issue again and other then that we haven't had a single issue with the television at all and everything is perfect and wonderful and we couldn't be happier with our purchase of this television and the matching active shutter glasses. In the end we didn't buy it because it was more or less expensive then other manufactures models of equivalent size and features but because it had nearly everything and more that we were looking for in a television and the price was just a bonus to us. Other televisions we researched all had some of the features we wanted but not all but this television had everything we were looking for and more and we have no complaints at all about the television, we would have rather bought locally but none of the retailers around had the specific TV we were looking for but if we had just settled and bought a TV locally we wouldn't be happy because it wouldn't have had everything we wanted in a TV so we ordered the TV through amazon and it was delivered in two days so we didn't have to wait long to get our new TV.... Thank you Panasonic for making the perfect TV we were looking for and with the reputation Panasonic has and being a big brand name I couldn't believe the overall value and price compared to other big name manufacturers so keep up the great work and we will be faithful customers Billy C

If the Netflix app still fails to open, but all of the other TV apps work, visit for more support.

  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
