Rated 5 out of 5 by from S64 is awesome After reading reviews online and owning this TV for a year, there is (was) no better bang for your buck. Large size and comparatively lower price were tough to beat. I will not need another TV (43 years old), if the plasma technology holds up to its end of the bargain! Too bad they were discontinued so others could own this set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value Is the S64 better than the S60 for roughly the same cost? Yes. If you have read up the S60 and it's big brother, the ST60, then you know that both scored excellent reviews in testing and benchmarks. The S64 is no exception, since it's basically a hybrid of the S60 and the ST60. The only difference between the S60 is the addition of an Infinite Black Panel Anti-Reflective Filter used in the S64 model (notice it's not the Infinite Black Pro Panel). Basically, the club stores are throwing in an Anti-Reflective Filter for the same price as the S60. Does this have 3D? No. I don't know if this is a deal breaker for some people, but the only TV's with excellent 3D would be the flagship television sets in each respective brands model lineup. All of the lower tiered 3D HDTV sets all have some shortcomings, so unless you are willing to pony up at least 3x as much to get proper movie theater quality 3D graphics, I would skip the technology altogether. Does this have the lowest input lag of any Panasonic Plasma? Yes. Do you have auxillary speakers, surround sound, or use gaming consoles? If so, you are in luck because the S60 and S64 both have the lowest input lag in the entire Panasonic Plasma 2013 lineup. This is the difference between having an enjoyable gaming experience and an intolerable one. Is the ST60 better than the S64 for almost TWICE the cost? You decide. Since writing this review, the same size S64 costs about 54% of an equivalently sized ST60, or put another way, the ST60 costs 1.85x more than an S64. What does that extra cost get you? However, I'm not a videophile where I pay to have someone professional calibrate my televisions for a few hundred dollars. Instead, I just opted to use some calibration settings online after I ran some break-in slides for a week. However, for the amount of money spent on the screen size and picture quality, I don't think you can go wrong with this set, especially since it has built in WIFI and the Infinite Black Panel. You get almost the same picture quality as the ST60 for almost half the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you know what you want, this is perfect Even among plasma TV owners, the S64 is not well-known. This TV is EXACTLY an S60 with the anti reflective filter from the ST60. So no 3D, different "infinite black" vs "infinite black pro," slightly thicker (see cnet's review of the S60), less "smart TV" stuff. I don't use 3D. I have a suspicion almost no one does, but people feel like they need it on their TVs. In addition, the ST60 has been universally reviewed as not doing 3D well. So to each their own, but I don't think it's worth paying more for a feature rarely used, and arguably poorly implemented. CNET's big knock on the S60 was the lack of reflection filter, which the S64 has as it is made specifically for Sam's and Costco's bright warehouse lights. My TV is in a room with THREE skylights, none of which I can control the amount of light coming through. The panel is bright enough and filter effective enough that I never notice it unless the sun is shining on something reflective across from the TV, which happens about once a day for an hour as the sun moves. So if you have a lit up white wall opposite, this is noticeable, but only in direct direct light. I was really worried before I got the TV that this would be its major downfall, but I found myself pleasantly surprised that I rarely ever notice it. One thing not much talked about on major sites is the input lag/latency. The ST60's input lag in gaming and desktop mirroring has been maligned by many people. I'm not a major gamer, but I do it enough to notice the type of lag quoted for the ST60. The S60/64 has the least amount of lag of this year's Panasonics. That's a big deal from my viewpoint, more than 3D for sure. The S64 is so inexpensive when you compare it to a similarly sized ST60. It's the same price basically as the S60 as well, despite adding the AR filter. The picture quality is fantastic. Breathtaking. Like audiophile equipment, there is no argument that you can get better picture from the higher lines in Panasonic's 2013 line. The ability to notice the difference, however, compared w/ the increase in price is really important. Even comparing back just one year, the S64 seems to compare really favorably with even their top lines. I would challenge anyone to sit in a dark room with this TV and have anything to truly complain about. I would challenge anyone to not have a smile on their face sitting in front of this screen. In summary, I love the TV. The AR filter works well. The lack of Smart TV features is actually something I find to be a pro, but this is a personal preference. The picture quality is phenomenal. Value is unmatched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It This is basically an S60 with the AR filter from the ST/VT. It has the lowest input lag out of measured '13 models, and the picture is stunning. Picked mine up at Costco, and they have a really good deal on the extended warranty there as well. Thanks Panasonic!

  • What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?
    Follow these troubleshooting steps:
    • Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
    • Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
    • After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.

  • What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?
    1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
    2. Unplug all cables.
    3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

    Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem.
  • What should I do if I can access all of the TV apps except Netflix?
    1. Change the DNS setting of your TV to
    2. If you are able to access the Netflix splash screen, use the TV remote to deactivate your account by pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. After this process, try loggin back into the Netflix TV app.

    If the procedure is successful a screen will come up with the option to deactivate your device from your account. If not try the process again. Once you have successfully deactivated your device, you will need to activate it by opening Netflix and at the main screen selecting Member Sign In, then following the on screen prompts until activation is complete.

    If the Netflix app still fails to open, but all of the other TV apps work, visit help.netflix.com for more support.

  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
    Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
