Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended & excellent Picture, would have never purchased a Plasma TV before now, but I am hooked

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding if you are going to buy an HDTV get an HD Signal please. If you are still using Composite video get with the times and keep your Tube tv. This Tv is awesome great picture (HD Signal). One great tv anti glare filter is the best. Panasonic knows how to build a tv and still continues to be the leader. I will never buy an LCD and yes LED's are LCD's. Plasma is the way to go. Great depth, color, the best BLACK levels (true color). If you don't like the sound get a sound bar or 5.1 home theater setup no tv gives outstanding sound, c'mon people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Panasonic 42" flat screen Plasma Great TV picture. Lousy sound out of speakers aimed down. What's worse there is no analog (RCA) audio output to connect to simple amp/speaker setup. The only audio out is optical and suitable for home theater, but not for the average user.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the best basic plasma out there This is a great TV, with a great picture, and it's only 720p! Plasma has the best picture for sports, and excellent color for movies. Glare and refection is only a problem with very bright sunlight, but that's a problem with all TVs. At night it's awsome. Also, don't judge the picture quality until you hook up a real HD source - basic cable and VHS tapes do not look great with this TV or ANY make of plasma or LCD. A CBC full HD broadcast (from the antenna!) looked excellent. My regular DVD player (upscaled to 1080) also looked great. There are lots of inputs for this TV - more than the previous model. It also has an audio out (Toslink) which is very useful for anyone using an antenna as the primary source to get audio into your home theatre. I especially like the memory card slot for viewing pictures on slide show. One negative: sound quality from the built in speakers is not great - they point to the wall behind the TV so it's not that clear and the volume needs to be up at 30 or 40 to be heard. I use the audio out to a HT amp so not a big deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but....... Excellent price, value and picture. Speakers would sound better if they faced to the front instead of down. Wall mounting would help the sound as it wouldn't then bounce off the stand. A RCA audio output would be a welcomed addition. The only audio output is fiber optic which eliminates the use of some of the older components and surround systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality & Features This plasma TV was very easy to setup. My girlfriend and I set it up in less than 10 minutes from unpacking it to turning it on. Then we were watching TV on the big screen! The picture quality is excellent! We don't have HD channels (yet) but it still looks amazing. I connected both my laptop and PC using DVI to HDMI on the TV to view some HD content and the quality was amazing. The only issue I noticed is when I plugged the cable into the HDMI port is that my cable and adapter were too heavy and I wasn't getting a proper signal. I believe the issue is that I'm using a DVI-to-HDMI adapter and because that adapater sticks out so far that it's too heavy for the HDMI port to handle all that weight. I noticed my signal was picking up on the TV, but after placing an object under my DVI-to-HDMI adapter the connection was established and my signal came through great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed!!! Worst Purchase Ever! All was well until I brought TV home, hooked it up,turned it on,easy set up,everything was great, was happy as could be,picture looked great, wife n kids were so excited eyes wide with anticipation and then unit powered off never to power on again!!? This was so frustrating, needless to say I now have to return this TV because there is no way I'm going to have it serviced or try to troubleshoot the problem over the phone or via web chat on the same day as the purchase. Family very upset and disappointed was lookin forward to enjoying this Panasonic product. My search for a TV continues...

FAQs
  • What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?
    Follow these troubleshooting steps:
    • Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
    • Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
    • After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.
If the outlet is working and the TV will not turn on after pressing the [POWER] button on the TV, please consider having the unit serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.
  • What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?
    1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
    2. Unplug all cables.
    3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

If the problem persists, consider having the TV serviced. Click here for Panasonic Service Locator.

Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem.
  • What should I do if I get audio but no picture from an external device connected to my TV?
    • Try unplugging the cable between the TV and the external device and reconnecting it firmly on both sides.
    • Try unplugging the power cord of the external device for 30 seconds.
    • Try connecting another external device to the same input using the same cable.
    • If the picture returns on the second device, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the first external device you had connected for further troubleshooting.
    • Try using a different cable between your device and the TV using the same input of your TV. If you get a picture and audio, you may need to replace your cable.
    • Try another input of the TV to verify if there is an issue with the TV input the external device was connected to.
  • What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
