Details
SDR-H60
Features

60GB Hard Disk Drive/SD Hybrid Camcorder with 50x Optical Zoom, Advanced Optical Image Stabilization, One-Touch DVD Copy, Anti-Shock Shield and One-Touch Navigation, Records to Internal Hard Drive or SD Card

Features

Advanced O.I.S. Reduces Camera Shake, Even at 50x Zoom
The SDR-H60's 50x optical zoom lens has the power you need to take dramatic closeups or get remarkable shots of even distant subjects. But with long-distance zoom shots, even a tiny bit of hand shake has a huge effect on picture quality. That's where Panasonic's Advanced Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) comes in, suppressing the effects of hand shake as you shoot. The system uses gyro sensors to detect hand shake, then shifts a lens and adjusts the optical axis to compensate. This all happens a remarkable 4,000 times per second. And because the system is optical, no image quality is lost. Thanks to Advanced O.I.S., the images you capture look incredibly clear, sharp and blur-free even at high zoom levels.

Non-Stop Shooting Fun with 60GB Hard Drive
Holding as much data as 43 DVD discs, the SDR-H60's 60GB1 internal hard disk drive lets you record continuously for up to 54 hours (in LP mode).

Anti-Shock Shield Helps Protect Your Memories
Panasonic's Anti-Shock Shield helps protect recorded video data from damage due to jolts and impact. The Drop Detect function senses if the camera is falling and moves the head away from the hard disk. The Floating Structure protects the hard disk should the camera fall or be dropped. And the Buffer Memory automatically backs up data while the camera is falling.

One-Touch DVD Copying
This hard disk drive camcorder has a USB Host function, which lets you connect directly to a DVD burner (sold separately) via a USB cable. You can then copy recordings from the hard disk to a DVD disc by simply pressing a button.

Edit Your Videos
You can transfer the motion-image data from the SD card or the camcorder's hard drive right to your PC2 using your PC's USB port. Then with the included VideoCam Suite 1.0 software, you can easily put scenes in a different order and delete the ones you don't want. When you're finished with your video production, you can re-save the edited version onto an SD memory card and a DVD disc.

  1. 1 GB = 1 million bytes. Usable capacity will be less.
  2. Certain system requirements apply.

Reviews

SDR-H60 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Camera, Terrible Software I find the actual camcorder to be excellent. Very easy to use, and intuitive, and great features. The image stabilizer is a nice feature, as you aren't limited to using a tripod all the time to get a steady video. HOWEVER, the problem comes when you want to pull the video content off the camera. The software that comes with the camcorder is extremely primitive, and not user-friendly at all! Using another video editing software is a must. I'm coming to realize though that difficulties with video editing is a very common problem though. One issue is that the camcorder records video in .MPEG2 format. This format can not readily be imported into Windows Movie Maker. It must be converted into .AVI format. So once I figure out how to video edit and burn DVDs with this camcorder, I'm sure I will enjoy it more. But for now, its frustrating. But again, the actual camcorder is great! Just the video editing and given software is a pain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Happy Ok...I bought this cam because it was a reasonable price and had a BIG 60GB hard drive. That is all fine and good but the video quality of this cam is reallly terrible. And the software it comes with is the worst I have ever seen. I have a panasonic Digital camera (DMC-FZ50) and it takes 10 times better video than this cam corder..do not buy this unit!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Software Editing Nice camcorder, great zoom and overall quality. For the price you shouldn't have to buy software to edit you video. Also, the software supplied transfers photos well, but not videos. Very poor software!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easy To Use, but... Resolution is terrible for indoor pictures, and the software is very difficult to navigate and use. I would recommend a different brand based solely of the software provided by this camera. The camera is only as good as the software to edit and create your DVD's. Ease of use if fair, until you get to the editing and creating DVD's, then it is all downhill from there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic zoom! -- so-so software I love the zoom and OIS (optical image stabilazation) features. By using both I can capture clear non-nauseating video at my son's football games -- even when restricted to the bleachers. I love the camera; however the software is not much more than a convenient file transfer package. You will need to purchase video editing software to use with the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I have hundreds (around 700) of photos on my camera and many many video clips from two sons football games... The storage is huge and when I look at avilable time left for taping...there are so may hours left (around 25 hours)-battery lasts, too! When its cold life span on battery charge cuts down, like all other.. Video and stills are quality... Transferring photos to the computer is easy. Havent transferred video yet, but from what I have seen from this camera so far...It has been user friendly! Great choice in compact and quality! Thumbs up to Panasonic!
