SC-PT960 is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sound! This is the second Panasonic Home Theater I've bought. The other I sold to a friend, but I knew i was going to get another because I loved the quality of the other. I've had this product for maybe 2 years and im pleased with it! It has beautiful, clear sound for music. It has powerful, immersive sound for video games and movies! I dont think I've ever had a problem with it. What I don't like is that the movies don't look all that great on HDTVs. But with a Blu-ray player and an HDTV this surround sound is awesome! If for some reason I get rid of this one, I'm buying myself another Panasonic Home Theater!:-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bang for the Buck Won't need any stereo equipment in the house after this, i purchased a model which was one step lower, the rear speakers didn't have stands and the watts were fewer, got this bad boy, oh man, you can have this at any party. I saw sound engineer who owned 100,000 worth of equpment, buy this and said this was a lot better than some of the other fancy surround sounds. Honestly you won't do need anything else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glad I Bought and Extended Warranty The dvd changer died and they couldn't find a working replacement part. I bought a warranty but it's been in "repair" for over a month. They can't fix it so I'm waiting for a formal verdict - exchange or refund. I'm going for a refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I purchased one and the DVD tray wont open after playing 10-12 movies. Sound is OK on the audio side. I wouldn't recommend the all-in-one style. Should have purchased the audio separately from the DVD player. Buyer beware.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Volume Great system, My only complaint is that for 1200 watts it doesed't get loud enough to really enjoy theater sound. Otherwise, great system

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever I consider myself fairly good with electronics (setting them up and using them). This was the worst user-friendly electronics I have had. The remote control doesn't work correctly most of the time. When I called for help and was told what to do to fix it, there was nothing in the instructions for me to have fixed myself. The instructions stink also.

FAQs
  • What do I do in the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • How do I connect a Panasonic home theater system to my TV?
Panasonic recommends that you use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI output of your Blu-ray disc player to the HDMI input on your TV. Then place your TV on the correct HDMI input using your TV remote control.
  • What should I do if I am not getting any sound from the center or the right speaker?
    Center Speaker
Check the speaker wire connection on the back of the unit. Unplug the speaker wire from the back of the unit, and then reinsert it into the center speaker slot on the back of the unit. Next, go to the unit's audio settings and perform a speaker test. If you are using a stereo channel source or the unit has no center channel encoded, turn on the "Super Surround" option.

    Right Speaker
The right speaker of the center channel is a "Super Tweeter" it along with the full range speaker produce a more natural sound even though you may not hear audio coming from the super tweeter. Super tweeters produce high frequencies which may not be heard at all times.

  • How do I use the ARC feature with my home theater system?
ARC is an abbreviation for Audio Return Channel. To use this feature the HDMI cable you are using must be compliant to HDMI v1.3 spec or later. Older cables may not work correctly.

VIERA Link can work with either the HDMI- ARC feature of a compatible TV.
For ARC usage make sure that the systems HDMI ARC port is connected to the TVs ARC port.

    1. Press [HOME].
    2. Select "Others" icon and press [OK].
    3. Select "Setup" and press [OK].
    4. Select "Audio" and press [OK].
    5. Select "TV Audio Input" and press [OK]. Then select the "ARC" option.

Afterwards the TV's ARC feature will control the home theater system and the sound from the TV will be heard through the systems speakers.
