Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product - Replacement Remote? This is a great product and I have had it for many years. I was wondering if there is a place to buy a replacement remote or if there is a universal Panasonic remote that might work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the price We have had this system for about 5 months and so far are extremely satisfied with it. The sound is excellent for movies, television, music, etc.... Not the loudest system ever, but plenty loud enough. The clarity of the sound is very good. The features are very convenient - never even considered a multi-disc DVD player, but have found it surprisingly convenient and useful. My only complaints are 1) The remote control does not have any universal functionality unless (apparently) used with a compatible Panisonic T.V., and 2) there are no auxillary outputs on the system to facilitate multi-room speakers/splitters. Other than that, for this price and basic home entertainment, this is an excellent product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great System - Poor Instructions Once we finally got the system set up, it has grea sound and is very easy to use. The guy that said that the bass was poor must be doing something wrong. With the bass set at the lowest level, we have to worry about disturbing others in the building. The problems we had were in configuring the cables. The diagrams and instructions leave much to be desired. One thing you need to realize before purchase and during installation, this is a end system not a bridge system like most DVD players. There is no video in only out. If you are using it with cable or satellite, you have to have at least 2 inputs to use this system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth Every Cent The system is really good. It takes a couple of weeks of messing with the controls to figure out all the control and sound options it has. Once you figure out how you like the setting for your liking, there's no way you can complain. Of course you can get better, but unless your friends with a bunch of audio geeks, your gonna have the best sound system of all your friends. The speakers get very loud and clear, and my subwoofer works perfect. I don't have low standards, and this system works great for me. I recommend getting a HDMI cable to link to your TV, and an Optical audio cable coming from your cable box to the system with components(you can also use another HDMI, but my cable box didnt like using an HDMI..dont know why). And the I-pod dock it sick, you can control your I-pod through the TV screen with the remote control, and it works quick, no lag. You should get this thing..!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great and sound better After purchase and finally recieving this HTS it was a breeze to set up. Always some assembly required but very minimal. I had the system up and running. You will need to purchase your AV cables ( red and white ) and also a HDMI cable to be able to have surround sound with the TV as well. I am still learning the ins and outs of the remote as well but am extremely pleased with the sound quality and the detail that I can pick out while watching DVD's. CD's sound awesome and the radio brings in every station that is available. My kids are thrilled with the iPod dock, while I am still figuring it out. The main reason I selected this was the 2 wireless speakers that came with it. I didn't want to have wires running all over the place and the transmitter came with this unit instead of an additional expense. If you want a quality HTS that is inexpensive but provides great sound and loads of features this is the one to go woth.

How To Guided Tutorials
  • What do I do in the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • How do I connect a Panasonic home theater system to my TV?
Panasonic recommends that you use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI output of your Blu-ray disc player to the HDMI input on your TV. Then place your TV on the correct HDMI input using your TV remote control.
  • What should I do if I am not getting any sound from the center or the right speaker?
    Center Speaker
Check the speaker wire connection on the back of the unit. Unplug the speaker wire from the back of the unit, and then reinsert it into the center speaker slot on the back of the unit. Next, go to the unit's audio settings and perform a speaker test. If you are using a stereo channel source or the unit has no center channel encoded, turn on the "Super Surround" option.

    Right Speaker
The right speaker of the center channel is a "Super Tweeter" it along with the full range speaker produce a more natural sound even though you may not hear audio coming from the super tweeter. Super tweeters produce high frequencies which may not be heard at all times.
  • How do I use the ARC feature with my home theater system?
ARC is an abbreviation for Audio Return Channel. To use this feature the HDMI cable you are using must be compliant to HDMI v1.3 spec or later. Older cables may not work correctly.

VIERA Link can work with either the HDMI- ARC feature of a compatible TV.
For ARC usage make sure that the systems HDMI ARC port is connected to the TVs ARC port.

    1. Press [HOME].
    2. Select "Others" icon and press [OK].
    3. Select "Setup" and press [OK].
    4. Select "Audio" and press [OK].
    5. Select "TV Audio Input" and press [OK]. Then select the "ARC" option.

Afterwards the TV's ARC feature will control the home theater system and the sound from the TV will be heard through the systems speakers.
