Rated 3 out of 5 by from Charging options I travel with an IPad which does not have a USB port so there is no way of charging the unit. The speaker should have been designed to take an AC charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable speaker Great little speaker with added features that other speakers don't have like the waterproof and great durability. I did find you had to the use the "Boost" mode to make it sound good. I like the feature that you can use as a speaker phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly indestructible but where's the music? When I opened this device from its box and held it in my hands for the first time I was amazed at just how sturdy this compact speaker system was. Now I must preface this by letting you all know just how much I love to travel. I travel for work, for vacation, to visit family, and sometimes just to jump in the car and go for a ride. All I could think about was how great this device was for all occasions and I couldn't wait to get it powered up and test it out. Setup was easy and intuitive by simply powering the system up and pressing and holding the Bluetooth button until the light started blinking. Then I went to my phone and found the device under the Bluetooth setting and clicked it. That's it! I found one of my favorite songs and started playing it and the music started flowing with a well balanced sound. My next step, after it was able to get my childish excitement out of the way was to get it all charged up for use out and about. That's when I realized one of its first drawbacks. It only came with a USB cable for charging... No ac adapter. This isn't a make it or break it deal though as it was easy enough for me to simply plug the USB into my computer and boom it charged perfectly. Then surprise surprise my computers HDD crashed and my PC wouldn't turn on so I improvised and tried plugging it into my phone charger (not knowing if the amperage or voltage was adequate or over powering) but that worked too... I'm just curious to see how long the speakers internal battery will last. Now for my first big trip Hawaii! First stop Kauai so naturally I planned on taking it hiking and to the beach. While at the beach set out my beach towel with the nice rolling sounds of the ocean 100ft away I powered on my SC-NT10D and connected it to my phone and pressed play... My first reaction was "where's the music" so I checked it and it was powered on and connected so I put it up to my ear and I could hear the music faintly. So I thought no big deal I'll just turn it up. I pressed the volume up button for a while but there was no indication that I had hit max volume yet. The sound was still overpowered by the gentle rolling waves at the end of the sand. I checked my phone and made sure the volume was also set to max and it was. My next step was to press the boost button and it did get a little louder however it was still easily drowned out by the sounds of the beach. My next test was to take it on a hike through out the beautiful trails on Kauai with my partner Randy. When I got to the trail I got everything hooked up (easy as usual) and started up my music. Now this device is compact and sturdy however it is still too big to fit in pant pockets, especially while going outdoors activities where you wouldn't want something banging up against your leg for miles on end so I fit it nicely in my backpack. But once again, where's the music? Even with all settings at max the volume simply couldn't compete with all of the ambient noises and very open atmosphere. There was a bit of relief with this device though, although the music wasn't as loud as I would prefer we did experience a cloud burst during our hike leaving the device exposed to a brief rain shower. The SC-NT10D survived without a glitch! When I returned home I decided to try the speaker for another use, a speaker I could use around the kitchen. Here is where the device works well. I was able to get it hooked up to my tablet playing music and I didn't need to worry about the splatters or dirty hands from cooking and it worked great (so long as the sizzling from the pans wasn't too overwhelming or it was back to the beach scenario). Overall, I was really impressed with the ruggedness of the device but I can help by want more out of it. After all if I am in a situation which requires ruggedness from a device such as this speaker then I don't want to have to ask the question "where's the music?" because headphones would be just as easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little speaker that could Panasonic out did themselves with this little Bluetooth/NFC enabled speaker that packs a big punch. We connected to the speaker with two different OS’s. The NFC capability is nifty by only having to tap the top of the speaker with the phone to establish a live stream but I didn’t find it more or less effective than the Bluetooth. The Bluetooth pairing is seamless. The design is unassuming and very compact. Yet with the volume boost feature and ease of usability, this portable speaker has now become our primary outdoor and indoor accessory for playing music from our mobile devices. Its durability is captivating; my two year old tugs it around the house everywhere she goes, gets dirt, food, and everything else imaginable on it and bathes with it by placing it in the tub corner. The SC-NT10 speaker has gone through the works in the first few weeks in our hands. It’s been dropped and slammed, splashed and drenched, and even covered with smiley face stickers for personalization by my little girl. It has withstood its fair share of abuse and I can safely speak to its resilience. The speaker also maintains a charge for an unexpectedly extensive run time. The battery does run out faster when the volume boost feature is enabled yet the speaker lasts about 5 to 6 hours before having to be recharged. Overall the SC-NT10 gets high marks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Portable Speaker The Panasonic SC-NT10 Rugged Wireless Tough Speaker has been great for me so far. I was looking for a portable speaker that I could use around the house (kitchen and bathroom) or when I was outdoors. The water resistant and shock proof qualities are perfect for what I was looking for when playing golf. It has been through rain, vibrations, drops, you name it, and I have never experienced a loss in quality or shorting out of the product. I have also had this in direct sun and the product seems to be very heat proof. The Bluetooth configuration is extremely easy to use when syncing up to my smartphone or laptop and the sound is 100x better than either of those devices. My wife has used her Near Field Communication (NFC) to connect to the speaker as well without any problems. The battery life has been long lasting; I occasionally use it for 4-5 hours without it dying. There is hands-free speakerphone functionality that I have not used, but it seems like something that could be useful when I am making dinner or can’t answer the phone directly. My favorite part is the bass boost mode. The sound projects great whether you are 2 feet or 15 yards from the product. The bass boost allows you to add depth and amplification to the music. Overall, the product has exceeded my expectations and sounds as good, if not better, than similar products on the market for over ½ the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't know I needed it, now can't live without it I wasn't sure at first what a bluetooth speaker would add to my life, but WOW. I can finally hear music in the shower, while washing dishes, while cleaning up the house, all streaming from my phone. This is a fantastic purchase, especially for camping. I even discovered that it's possible to use it as a Bluetooth speaker in MY CAR for hands-free speakerphone stuff. That's pretty amazing. This isn't gonna replace your home theater, but it's a great little speaker and the loudest and best features of its kind that I've found. Kudos Panasonic! BTW, there's a little LINE IN jack hidden beside the USB port that I didn't see mentioned anywhere. If your tablet doesn't have Bluetooth, you can run a cord into the speaker and still use it. Great for showing off video clips to folks while on the go. This thing's a blast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful mini Party Without a doubt this is one of the best little Bluetooth speakers on the market. I was simply amazed at the build quality of this little unit and the sound it produced. No its not a home theater experience but it is a great way to share music, get hands free calls and watch YouTube videos with more sound and bass. I give it five out of five stars. Its water resistance and boost sound nicely. Its very durable in my opinion and nice for those camping trip moments. I'm an early adopter and Panasonic sent me this nice unit to test. For a video of that stay tune for a link to my YouTube video!
