SC-HC58 is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really impressed I saw some of the other reviews about this product and was a little apprehensive about buying one. However, when I saw it was on sale I decided to take the plunge. I am so glad I did. I really cannot understand what the other negative reviewers are on about. This product is exceptional value for money and is really impressive. I love all of its features and the sound that comes from it is amazing. The airplay feature means that I can use my smart phone and my husband has an iphone and ipad so it works really well for us. I would recommend this to anyone- fantastic buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stripped Down SC-HC55 I am returning this and buying the SC-HC55. Panasonic eliminated theEXT-IN AUX jack, touchless sensor door, the remote is small and cheap and stripped of several important capabilities. The sliding door is now cheap plastic. AM radio was eliminated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy. Very impressed. I received and setup my Model SC-HC57 today. It is not the SC-HC58 model but the prior model. When I came to the website to write a review the SC-HC57 was not on the website. I still wanted to say that I am very impressed. The sound quality and volume could blow me out of the room. Who would have expected that from this little unit. I love the classy, clean, compact lines and smooth operation. From some earlier reviews I read I was willing to be just reasonably happy but they were way off the mark. I am very happy. I will be using it with just the cd and fm cable radio most of the time. The cable connection for FM radio was important to me. I also expect to be able to use it with bluetooth and my imac. It has deep rich sound and the remote works very well even from the next room. I said to my wife that we will keep the packaging in case we want to return it. She said "I don't think we will be returning it". If anyone seems to be having any difficulty setting it up I can only say to take the time to read the owners manual and follow the instructions. There are many feature and sound settings options that are easy to setup. I just stood across the room from the unit and listened to an entire CD, I was so impressed. I will probably wall mount it and hide the wires in the wall to make it even more impressive than it is. People who look at it will not believe the sound coming from it. I might just order a model SC-HC58 when it becomes available. JD New York

Owner's Manuals
  • What do I do in the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • How do I connect a Panasonic home theater system to my TV?
Panasonic recommends that you use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI output of your Blu-ray disc player to the HDMI input on your TV. Then place your TV on the correct HDMI input using your TV remote control.
  • What should I do if I am not getting any sound from the center or the right speaker?
    Center Speaker
Check the speaker wire connection on the back of the unit. Unplug the speaker wire from the back of the unit, and then reinsert it into the center speaker slot on the back of the unit. Next, go to the unit's audio settings and perform a speaker test. If you are using a stereo channel source or the unit has no center channel encoded, turn on the "Super Surround" option.

    Right Speaker
The right speaker of the center channel is a "Super Tweeter" it along with the full range speaker produce a more natural sound even though you may not hear audio coming from the super tweeter. Super tweeters produce high frequencies which may not be heard at all times.
  • How do I use the ARC feature with my home theater system?
ARC is an abbreviation for Audio Return Channel. To use this feature the HDMI cable you are using must be compliant to HDMI v1.3 spec or later. Older cables may not work correctly.

VIERA Link can work with either the HDMI- ARC feature of a compatible TV.
For ARC usage make sure that the systems HDMI ARC port is connected to the TVs ARC port.

    1. Press [HOME].
    2. Select "Others" icon and press [OK].
    3. Select "Setup" and press [OK].
    4. Select "Audio" and press [OK].
    5. Select "TV Audio Input" and press [OK]. Then select the "ARC" option.

Afterwards the TV's ARC feature will control the home theater system and the sound from the TV will be heard through the systems speakers.
