Rated 4 out of 5 by from Panasonic RP-HC56-K These ear buds are a fairly good value. I didn't expect them to reduce all the external sound, so I was not surprised to hear some background noise. Constant sound from the HVAC system running in my open office were essentially blocked. Loud people who are within my vicinity, not block as well. The large pencil type attenuator, is cumbersome and the length of wires between it and the ear buds are short. This allows you to only clip it on your shirt pocket or in my case on my badge neck string. Because of the price I bought them for, I was not disappointed. Good sound quality and really good fit in my ears. I was able to change out one of the cushion's in my left ear for a smaller one included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Headphones for Travel! A unique and fantastic product. The noise cancellation is excellent, as well as audio quality. This product has been on the market for years, and I've never seen anyone using them. Can't understand why. On an airplane, they are most effective. I'm able to hear a full range of music, at a reasonable and safe volume levels, while eliminating at least 90% of the cabin and engine noise. Fits well and comfortably in my ears for hours at a time. At first, the cords can be a bit cumbersome, but after a few times, you get the winding and unwinding method down. The battery life is hard to believe! One AAA battery lasts at least a dozen flights. Would it be better if it had bluetooth and a built-in mic?...sure, but for the money, they can't be beat! I've used a lot of headphones in my time, these are at the very top of my list for traveling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy These headphones are well worth the money. They're very streamline and the battery pack is hardly noticeable. I marked down a little because very few times the notice cancellation was spotty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice sounds but Mic control is bulky Bought this earphones to use with my phone. Sound is clear & precise. A little low on bass side but I don't listen to hip hop or rap so it doesn't bother me. For me the problem was the bulky mic controller. This size dragged down on the earphones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Portable noise cancelling They do not block out as much airplane noise as much larger headphones but I purchased them specifically to be portable. They are easy to carry in my computer bag, use regular batteries (a big plus for me), and do a good job of blocking out enough noise so that movies or music can be enjoyed while flying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Acceptable solution for a good price These are a decent solution if you're looking for a cheap, easy-to-use solution to noise cancelling. The noise cancelling feature works both with music or without (meaning you don't have to plug it in to work, just turn the noise cancelling on). The biggest drawback to this is that the noise cancelling HAS to be on to listen to music, otherwise you hear just the room noise around you only slightly muffled because you have earbuds in your ears. Also the volume control is limited to the headset, not your music device.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Perfect, but not Bad Wanted to use these to reduce noise on airplanes. They are not as good as the very high-priced full earphones, but they do reduce noise enough to be helpful. It is critical that you test the 3 different sizes of ear buds that come with this --- and the ear buds must be SECURELY in your ears for the noise reduction to work
