Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money!! We bought this for my elderly Mom having had positive experiences with Panasonic products in the PAST. Well, that is now in the PAST as they went 'On the CHEAP' with this unit. The problem that many have with having to SLAM THE DOOR in order to get this Hunk 'O Junk to work, stems from an CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, interior frame/'bracing' structure that is of way too thin a gauge of sheet metal. This metal EASILY bends and deforms, and thus the micro-switches cannot be properly aligned which is needed when the door closes so that the oven can then be started. These problems are well documented on the net and YouTube, and my personal 'fix' involved a thin, long Popsicle-stick combined with zip ties, to keep this frame from bending and flexing. (You can bend it back to its original position, but it is of such poor shoddy quality that it will quickly go out of alignment again, thus the need to 'brace and reinforce. NOW, I have ANOTHER ISSUE with this, and that is the front panel 'Touch Buttons' are malfunctioning with some not even responding, and the 'ON' button is totally non-responsive. All this from a 3 year old unit that is used sparingly!! I'm a pretty good 'Fix-It' guy, but am now trying to figure out how to get to the 'innards' of the touch pad assembly to see what (if anything) can be done to remedy this. All in all, a POOR, POOR, POOR design that has left a horrible 'taste' in our mouths re wanting to have anything else to do with a name-brand that we once trusted and respected. NO MORE!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst microwave I ever had, in my 49years of livin I am so sick of you big companies coming out with new models every year without improving on the ones you got consumers buying off the shelf. this is the third microwave I have bought the first lasted a long time, it gave me a good run for my money, but I won't even go into detail about the second one, whereas I am swearing off cursing like a sailor. So I thought I was purchasing the best from you (PANASONIC), paid top dollar for it and now It's just a big paper weight, I did not get an extended warranty didn't think I had to, we don't cook in the thing , it was used only to warm food or pop popcorn. So it never reached it's so called "POTENTIAL" I am no longer able to work I have a special needs child, so my money is very limited I do not want a pity party but my life is complicated enough, didn't need your product to add to my problems!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth It This microwave was less than 4 years old and now is on the way out. The turntable turns when the microwave is off and door open. Also, it keeps tripping the breaker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor interlock design. After approx. a year of use I started having problems with the interlock system. Turntable would spin when the door was opened, had to slam the door to get the oven to function. Disassembled the unit and found that two of the three interlock micro switches had failed mechanically. I managed to find two switches and replaced same, unit operated normally for 8 months before failing again. The third switch has failed. The basic oven works fine when the interlocks are functioning but the whole interlock mechanism is not robust enough to stand up to repeated use and replacement parts are not available to the general public.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product I have only had my microwave for 3 years and the latch stopped working. Everyone buying the Panasonic genius sensor has the same problem. Why hasnt this been recalled.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Short Lifespan The door has always been very tough to close (almost have to slam it in order to close it.). Recently, upon opening the microwave the glass plate would spin on its own when the door was opened, and stop spinning when the door was closed. Then the microwave stopped working - enter cook time, press start, light comes on, nothing happens and microwave audibly "clicks" and shuts off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from We have not had this Panasonic NN-SN960S for long We bought this microwave from Sam's Club. Recently the rotating plate began to spin when the door was open. After a week of that it has quit working at all. This is the second Panasonic microwave we have had that had a short life, I guess their quality is decreasing.
