NN-SN942W is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Door design single point of failure I was happy with this microwave until the door would not latch. The design flaw caused me to have to replace a machine that was working just fine, but for the cheap design of the stamped metal that supported the latch mechanism. It stopped working, and there is no fixing the flaw that prevents the latch from catching. You can bend it back, but that is only a temporary fix. CHEAP SHORTCUT made me have to replace a 2 year old machine that was working just fine. I will not but another Panasonic because of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cooks well but could be better. I've had this microwave for a few years now. It has always cooked well and is very powerful. The one complaint I have with it is the door. It has been hard to shut since day one. So much so that if you just push on the door to shut it, you actually move the oven on the countertop. To get it to latch you have to slam it. Over the last few months it seems to have gotten worse and sometimes we have to slam the door multiple times before the microwave can be started. For this reason I can't recommend this product and i wouldn't purchase another Panasonic microwave with the same type of door setup. Other than the door, it's been fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I just brought this home today as a replacement for an 18-year old NN-S776 (1996). Faith in the product brought me back. It is as sturdy as the old one with one caveat: the roller ring. This new one came with a sorry replica of my old unit's ring. It is at least three times thicker and the wheels are sturdier. The old ring fits this unit so I'm using it. I think it's a mistake for you to skimp on this necessary piece. Think of the weight the ring must endure, based on the interior capacity. I am about to put it to use and will re-review pro/con later. My expectations are high.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Power Rating Questionable We just got this unit and everything works well and we are so far, well pleased. The only negative reaction is that I expected better results wilth 1250 watts. In my old 1100 watt microwave, bag popcorn popped with only 6 or 7 un-popped kernels. With this one, the same sized bag cooked at the same amount of time has 25-30 un-popped kernels. It also takes about the same amount of time to bring 8 oz. of water to boil as with my 1100 watt unit. Everything else works to our satisfaction.

  • What should I check if my microwave stops working?

Check the fuse/circuit breaker for the outlet to see if it has been tripped or blown. Check other outlets to see if there is a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) outlet that is on the same circuit as the outlet used for the unit and see if it needs to be reset. Connect the oven to another outlet to see if unit is still operational. If the unit is still not working, please contact a local authorized servicer for diagnosis and repair.

  • What should I do if my microwave display is not working?
Check to make sure unit is plugged into a working outlet by plugging in another device to determine if power is available at the receptacle.
If power is not available at the outlet check your fuse/circuit breaker, panel.

Note: Newer homes/buildings are generally wired with GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) receptacles, if your building is equipped with GFI receptacles be sure to check if the circuit breaker directly on the receptacle has been tripped and requires reset.

If you determine the outlet has power but the microwave still is not functioning, contact a local Panasonic authorized servicer for repair.

  • For some reason my microwave oven displays units of measure in grams instead of ounces. How do I change it back?
    1. Unplug the microwave oven for about 60 Seconds.
    2. Right after you plug the microwave back in, press the *start button (this will initiate/toggle the oven between grams and ounces.
    3. Choose the unit of measure.
Diagram change units of measure MWO.
*Note: Depending on the model microwave oven you may need to turn the dial instead of pressing the button to start.
