Rated 2 out of 5 by from Timer problem ok, I like the quick minute, that is all I use, for over 4 years I could not figure out how to use the sensor heat, I could not find the MENU button to select. The unit is noisy, hard to close the door without waking someone up in the middle of night. I encounter the oven slowly quit working in past month, it just died for no reason, but if you wait for a while or unplug it, it comes back alive; I take off things on top, it works for a while, I take something off from the side, it works for a while, the problem is intermittent; when I use the timer function for cake in the oven, or something else, I CAN NOT USE THE MICROWAVE, unless I cancel the timer, I wonder who is the designer? he or she probably never cook in the kitchen before. Yesterday the microwave is finally RIP, it lasted about 4 years. but I believe it is just a simple problem, such as the switches for the door, I might open it up take a look when I have free time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died after 4 years The door was so loud to close, and yes it's a noisy unit! Now after 4 years it's power supply is crackling and it quits midway through warming even a frozen burrito. I've never seen a microwave fail - it's just a transformer! There aren't moving parts on the transformer! We will not get another Panasonic microwave again. Regarding the convenience, I also hated that you had to cycle through the power levels if you wanted to manually defrost. And why can't the "program cook recipes" like baking a potato simply display on the screen POTATO? I kept the user manual around just to have the cheat sheet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied We have had this microwave for ten months and have been very satisfied with it. There have been no problems and it serves us well. We use it for common everyday tasks e.g. cooking food and drinks, reheating leftovers, heating water, thawing frozen foods before stove-top/oven cooking. Our only complaint is the noise generated while its running is excessive. Annoying but not deafening. Overall we are very pleased with the oven and consider it well worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusted out interior after less than 1 year I replaced a quality 20 year old with this good looking compact unit. After less than one year it started corroding and rusting under the turntable. Now the entire floor of the unit is bubbling. Since I wash the interior every time I do the dishes ,wipe down and leave the door open for complete drying I do not believe this should happen and believe the quality to be very poor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Replaced 20 year old Panasonic with new one Wish I had kept my old one. It was still working fine except the door was harder to open over time. New Panasonic's light doesn't come on when door is open unless in cooking stage. Did not realize this until I gave my old one to charity. Have to clean interior in the dark and place plates inside in the dark. Very annoyed and complained. Company said it was an "energy saver model". It's ridiculous to not have a light when you open the door. Sorry i bought it and didn't have the box to return to store. Threw it away too soon. Regret replacing my old one. It was so faithful and larger too.

FAQs
  • What should I check if my microwave stops working?

Check the fuse/circuit breaker for the outlet to see if it has been tripped or blown. Check other outlets to see if there is a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) outlet that is on the same circuit as the outlet used for the unit and see if it needs to be reset. Connect the oven to another outlet to see if unit is still operational. If the unit is still not working, please contact a local authorized servicer for diagnosis and repair.

  • What should I do if my microwave display is not working?
Check to make sure unit is plugged into a working outlet by plugging in another device to determine if power is available at the receptacle.
If power is not available at the outlet check your fuse/circuit breaker, panel.

Note: Newer homes/buildings are generally wired with GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) receptacles, if your building is equipped with GFI receptacles be sure to check if the circuit breaker directly on the receptacle has been tripped and requires reset.

If you determine the outlet has power but the microwave still is not functioning, contact a local Panasonic authorized servicer for repair.
