NN-SE782S is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific microwave I love the inverter microwaves in general. They last the longest of any brand I've had, heat fast and evenly. I thought I would try the new dial and I love it. It is faster than punching in numbers, especially when I want fractional minutes. The defrost feature is terrific. I've never had problems with the door latches as previous persons have reported. My older one worked fine until the day it died.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Panasonic NN-SE782 1.6 Cu Ft Microwave This microwave seems to heat very evenly. The inverter based power setting (rather than full on, off intervals) seems to work well at re-heating without causing popping. Our older microwave only had full on, off modulated power settings and had a tendency to cause carrots and other items to explode sometimes while so far this one does not. The touch ring to set time is a bit gimmicky. A real knob would have been easier to use. I can see a cleaning advantage to the touch ring compared to a knob though. Only downside so far (after 2 weeks usage) is that it is definitely louder than our previous microwave. Not obnoxiously so but enough louder to notice. We share see if the door latch failure mechanism reported in other reviews hits us and if it just works long term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Microwave with large interior Our previous microwave just died and repairs would have cost more than a new microwave, so we replaced. While some people complained about the iPod Touch style ring that you slide your finger on to choose time, we have found it to be intuitive and easy to use. The interior is a much more useful shape than our previous microwave from another manufacturer, fitting our browning plate with ease. Some complained about the volume of the beeps, but they are not intrusive--just right. The display is easy to read in all lights. The most important feature is that this oven microwaves very well. We have yet to find an item where it does a poor job. It reheats especially well. While we were not thrilled with paying double what our previous microwave cost in 2009, this unit is definitely worth the extra cost. The stainless steel is not simply an applique, like some manufacturers have done; it is fully stainless steel on the sides with black plastic portions mixed with the ss on the front. A very good purchase. We just hope that it endures as long as our first microwave that kept cooking for over 20 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All is fine except the dial control This is my second Panasonic microwave. Everything is fine except I am not impressed with the "electrostatic dial control". Why there isn't an actual dial (as in my previous model) I can't fathom. You run your finger around the inside of the dial rather than turning the outside. It is much harder to get the exact time you want.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This thing died in less than two years. It comes on, but nothing happens. We are really disappointed. It is stylish with a large cavity. Too bad it doesn't work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The door problem I bought the microwave three ago as 1.6 Cu. Ft. Countertop/Built-In Microwave with Inverter Technology NN-SE782S Stainless NN-SE782S but this morning the door can not closed, I open the door back find the hock connect the door hook spring was broken , I feel the problem is the design, the plastic hook is too small and too weak ,without it the machine can not work. it is 2mm thick only, every time close the door should pull it, it is very easy broken. now I install a screw at the door, to connect the spring, but it works not very well ,reluctantly can use. so I ask you give me a way to solve this problm . Thank you very much
