NN-SD997S is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product failed twice in less than 5 years Microwave generator failed after 4 years of trouble free operation. Panasonic replaced the generator under warranty. Had to pay for diagnosis. New generator also failed in just 1 year. I will not bother with this anymore and try some other brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and reliable I have been using this product for a few weeks and I love the front panel controls. They are very easy to use. I also find that this microwave heats up food more evenly than my previous microwave.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great oven, but magnetrons fail I have had this oven for 5 years, but I had it replaced once for the H98 code. After 2 more years, I got another H98 code. It could be the magnetron, but it's just easier to order a new one with ext wty. Overall, it's a fantastic product for reheating and clean appearance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 failures Bought 1st one and it quit working after 18 months. Since I had purchased trim kit, bought another and it died after 3 months. Fortunately under warranty but have to ship it back as there are no factory dealers here. If it weren't for the expensive trim kit, I would switch to another brand!

FAQs
  • What should I check if my microwave stops working?

Check the fuse/circuit breaker for the outlet to see if it has been tripped or blown. Check other outlets to see if there is a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) outlet that is on the same circuit as the outlet used for the unit and see if it needs to be reset. Connect the oven to another outlet to see if unit is still operational. If the unit is still not working, please contact a local authorized servicer for diagnosis and repair.

  • What should I do if my microwave display is not working?
Check to make sure unit is plugged into a working outlet by plugging in another device to determine if power is available at the receptacle.
If power is not available at the outlet check your fuse/circuit breaker, panel.

Note: Newer homes/buildings are generally wired with GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) receptacles, if your building is equipped with GFI receptacles be sure to check if the circuit breaker directly on the receptacle has been tripped and requires reset.

If you determine the outlet has power but the microwave still is not functioning, contact a local Panasonic authorized servicer for repair.
