Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed I haven't given up on this book yet. I'd hoped that this book would provide guidelines to enable me to select cooking times and power settings for recipes in general, and also provide a few tasty new recipes ; didn't happen entirely. I have an old Panasonic Microwave Oven Cookbook copyrighted 1983, 1984 which is excellent. Those recipes do not easily transfer over for use in my Panasonic 1250 watt Inverter without a lot of guesswork on my part. I selected 2 recipes for comparison (Risotto which I make frequently using the recipe on the package and Lasagna which appears in both books). I found the recipe for Risotto in the new book as being close to what I commonly do with 2 main criticisms: the quantity is double the amount I commonly prepare and it's unnecessary to preheat the broth. The Lasagna came closest to my expectations with the exception that I followed the recipe in the 1983, 1984 cookbook for ingredients etc. (did not pre-cook the noodles as stated by the new book) and only used the new book for power and times. I tried the recipe for Coq Au Vin from the new book and the jury is out on that one; it wasn't as tasty as when I follow Julia Child's recipe. I'll keep the new book as a reference for times and power. I would have loved to have discovered some new really tasty dish. August 6, 2014
