Rated 2 out of 5 by from KX-TGE240 We bought cordless phone system with the KX-TGE240 base unit. Had good reviews on Amazon. Worked fine for 6 months then dead. The handset says "base no power" even though the handset is fully charged. That suggests that the wall charger is fine, the problem is the circuitry in the base unit. Several recent reviewers appear to have experienced the same problem.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from KX-TGE 240 Product worked well in all respects for 1 year. The it failed. Claim that AC adapter had to be reconnected to base etc. but all troubleshooting steps did not restore the phone to its use. Power failure could not be located, explained or fixed. Possible defective charger after 1 year but I do knot know.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from KX-TGE240 failed after 2 years I used Consumer Reports to decide on a purchase of the KX-TGE240 with three extra handsets. After two years of daily use, and suddenly without warning, the base station failed with the error message, "Base No Power" and "Charging". I repeatedly tried the minimal troubleshooting tips which were no help. The base station handset's "Charging" message implies a contradiction that the handset is receiving power but the base station is not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good phone until it won't work We have had this phone with 5 extra handsets for 11 months and were very happy with them. Today we had the message on them "Base no power". I checked the manual and followed the instructions for that message (unplug base unit to reset it), but it did not help, even after 3 attempts. I also tried to re-register the handset, but that did not work either. They still charge, but that doesn't help if they won't work. Panasonic has been a good name for us in the past, I hope this was just a fluke.

The base unit would still charge the handset, but that was all it would do. Display went blank. Sending it back for repair. Very bad quality control. Unit is KX-TGE244.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Telephones The phone need to be update the volumen is too low, you having noises when you make a call the noise reduction is not working properly, I believe that is one of the best Telephones but there are not the best one. Please let me know or advice me if you Panasonic make a better Phone in the future...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a new paradigm I decided to replace my phone system and began shopping at Amazon. One important feature I was looking for was a headset jack. Amazon's page either didn't include that information, or I was unable to find it, so I went looking elsewhere, and where better than the Panasonic site? As I searched the Panasonic site, suddenly a chat window opened (and déjå vu, it just happened again!), there was either a real person or the best AI support I've ever received. All my questions were answered, the phone was delivered as promised and I very much like the product. I have to admit it's a little creepy that either people or AI are watching my activity on their site, but I imagine this happens all the time. Anyway, how is it different than being in a brick and mortar store and having a salesperson approach? Great product and amazing support!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy These phones replaced an older version in which the voicemail stopped working. It was maybe 15 years old. I was initially concerned about the size of the base but that has not been an issue. I love being able to hear messages from all handsets. The caller ID is very understandable, much improved from older model. It's easier to play messages and save them and see how many are saved. I have had no complaints about the quality of the sound of my voice from callers and I can hear callers well. The set up was a snap, just plug it in and it works. I wish this model offered a 4 handset option since that is what I really needed. I will have to get an add on at some point. Plus it came with a paper instruction booklet that I keep handy for future reference as questions arise.

  • How do I view, add, block, and unblock numbers?
    Add Blocked Numbers:

    To manually block a number:
    1. Press the [MENU] [#] [2] [1] [7] on the handset
    2. Press [ADD]
    3. Enter the phone number you want blocked
    4. Press [SAVE]

    To store block number from caller list:

    1. Press [MENU] [#] [2] [1] [3]
    2. Scroll to the number to be blocked
    3. Press [SAVE]

    Note: If you do not want the first ring from a phone number on the call block list to sound, turn the first ring setting to "Off". Follow this procedure on the handset:

    1. Press the [MENU] [#] [1] [7] [3]
    2. Select "ON"
    3. Press [SAVE]

    View The Numbers I have blocked:

    To view the block list do the following procedure:
    1. On the handset press [MENU] [#] [2] [1] [7]
    2. Press the [▲] or the [▼] to view numbers that are blocked.

    Blocking Numbers of Calls I Do Not Wish To Receive:

    Some models will allow you to block calls. Caller ID service is required to identify phone numbers to match what you have stored on the call block list. Some units are capable of blocking up to 250 phone numbers, if you have more than 250 numbers to block then subscribing to a call block service from you phone company is an option.

    Unblocking Numbers I No Longer Wish to Block:
    1. On the handset press [MENU] [#] [2] [1] [7]
    2. Press the [▲] or the [▼] to select your desired entry
    3. Press the soft key [ERASE]
    4. Press [SELECT] on "Yes"
    5. Press [OFF] to exit the setting.

  • How do I clear 'New Voicemail' on my handset's display?
    Your telephone is alerting you that you have a new voice message from your phone company's assigned Voice mailbox. The procedure to access your voice mailbox would vary depending on the instructions of your phone company/service provider. Once you listen to your new messages, "New Voicemail" should be cleared from the handset.

    Note: If the handset still indicates there are new messages even after you have listened to all new messages, turn it off by pressing and holding [#] until the handset beeps.

    If you do not have voicemail service through your telephone service provider that you are aware of:

    Press [MENU] [#] [3] [3] [2] then press [0] to select OFF followed by SAVE to disable the Voicemail Tone Detector of the telephone..
  • How can I re-register my handset or register additional handsets?
    To register a handset, perform the following steps:
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [1] [3] [0] on the Handset
    2. Press and hold down the [LOCATOR] button on the base for about 5 seconds until you hear the registration tone
      If all registered handsets starts ringing, press [LOCATOR] again to stop, then repeat this step, procedure needs to be completed within 90 seconds
    3. Press [OK] on the handset
  • Why does the date and time change automatically after I have programmed the date and time on my phone?
    If you are subscribed to Caller ID from your phone company, the unit's date and time setting will be automatically adjusted when caller information is received. If you do not wish for this feature to work, press [MENU] [#] [2] [2] [6] on the handset, then press [0] to select "Manual" and press [SAVE]
