  • How do I erase my greeting message and use the pre-recorded or built-in greeting message?
    To erase your greeting message and use the pre-recorded or built-in greeting message, press [MENU] on the handset then press [▲] or [▼] until "Answering device" is displayed. Press OK. Press [▲] or [▼] until "Greeting" is displayed. Press OK. Find "Pre-recorded", then press OK.

  • How do I erase my greeting message and use the pre-recorded or built-in greeting message?
    To erase your greeting message and use the default greeting message, press [MENU] [#] [3] [0] [4] on the handset and select [YES] then turn the handset OFF.
  • How do I edit my caller list?
    Once you call back an edited number, the handset which was used to call back remembers the area code and format of the edited number. The next time someone calls from the same area code, caller information is customized by the handset. For example, you can use this feature to set the handset to ignore the area code of callers in your area, so that you can call these local numbers using caller information without dialing the area code. To activate this feature, you must edit an entry in the caller list, then call that number. After that, phone numbers from that caller's area code are edited automatically. View your caller list then press the soft key [EDIT] repeatedly till the display shows your preferred telephone number format then press [CALL]
  • How do I deregister my cell phone from my Panasonic phone?
    To de-register your Bluetooth enabled cell phone from the base unit. Follow these steps:
    1. On the handset press [MENU] → [#] [6] [1] [1] [1] for CELL 1
    2. You can also press [MENU][#] [6] [1] [1] [2] for CELL 2
    3. Press [SELECT] on "Yes". When you hear a long beep from the cordless handset, it means you have already de-registered your cell phone, you may press [OFF] on the handset to exit the setting.
  • How do I deregister a handset which is no longer in use?
    To deregister a handset, perform the following steps:
    1. Press [MENU]→[#] [1] [3] [1] on the handset
    2. Enter [3] [3] [5][OK]
    3. Select the handset you want to cancel by pressing the desired handset(s) number
    4. Select [OK][▲]/[▼]: "YES" →[SELECT]
  • How do I copy the contacts on my cell phone to my Panasonic phone?
    Please note the following before you start copying your cell phone contacts to your Panasonic phone:
    • If a copied entry has 2 or more phone numbers, each phone number (6 max.) is stored as a separate entry with the same name.
    • Your cell phone's Bluetooth is turned on
    • If a phonebook entry includes additional data such as a picture, that entry may fail to copy to the base unit.
    • If you receive a call while copying phonebook entries, the copying procedure stops. Try again after finishing the call.

    Follow these procedure to copy Phonebook Items via Bluetooth from cell phone:
    1. On the handset press [MENU][#] [6] [1] [8]
    2. Press [SELECT] on your desired cellular phone. If the cell phone is registered press [SELECT] on "Other Cell"
    3. Once "Transfer Phonebook" from cell appears on the cordless handset, start pairing your cell phone to the KXTGxx device and follow your Cellular phone's instructions.
    4. For other cellular phones (not registered), you need to search for and select the base unit. The base unit PIN (default: "0000") may be required. The entries being copied are displayed on the handset.
  • How do I clear 'New Voicemail' on my handset's display?
    Your telephone is alerting you that you have a new voice message from your phone company's assigned Voice mailbox. Procedure to access your voice mailbox would vary depending on the instructions of your phone company / service provider. Once you listen to your new messages, "New Voicemail" should be cleared from the handset/
    Note: If the handset still indicates there are new messages even after you have listened to all new messages, turn it off by pressing and holding [#] until the handset beeps.
  • How do I check my voicemail using the handset?
    Some phone companies provide a flat-rate service which includes voice mail, it is a voice mailbox system assigned to your phone line that stores telephone messages which can be retrieved at a later time. Procedure to access your voice mailbox would vary depending on the instructions of your phone company. In order to listen to your voice mail messages, you must dial your service provider/telephone company's voice mail access number. Once you have stored your voice mail access number, you can dial it automatically by pressing the soft key for [VM] on the handset
    Note that the function [VM] will not appear on the display if you haven't stored your the voicemail number provided by your phone company to the Panasonic telephone. To store your voicemail access number, follow the procedure below:
    1. On the handset press [MENU] then press the pound sign [#]
    2. Press [3] [3] [1]
    3. Dial your voice mail access number
    4. Press [SAVE] then press the OFF button

    If you do not know what is your Voicemail access number, PIN or password, please contact your phone company.
  • How do I change the ringer tone of my handset?
    To change the ringer tone of the handset. Press [MENU] on the handset then press [OK] to Select "INITIAL SETTING". Press [OK] again for "RINGER SETTING". Press [▲] or [▼] repeatedly to get to "RINGER TONE" then press [OK] you can choose from the selection on the phone by pressing [▲] or [▼] Press [OK] to select your desired ringer tone.
  • How do I change the remote code to access my machine when I'm away?
    A 3-digit remote access code must be entered when operating the answering system remotely. This code prevents unauthorized parties from listening to your messages remotely. To prevent unauthorized access to this product, we recommend that you regularly change the remote code. To change your answering machine's remote code do the following procedure: On the handset, press [MENU]. [#] [3] [0] [6]. Enter your 3 digit remote code. Press the soft key [SAVE] then press OFF.
  • How do I change the display language on my handset?
    You may change the display language and the voice guidance of the answering system.
    For the Display language:
    1. Make sure that the phone is not in use, press [MENU] on the handset
    2. Press [#] [1] [1] [0]
    3. Select your preferred language from the 2 options, highlight either English or Spanish by pressing the [▲] or the [▼] button
    4. Press down the center of the joystick to save your setting then press OFF

    To change the voice guidance for the answering system, follow these steps:
    1. On the handset press [MENU], then press [#] [1] [1] [2]
    2. Select your preferred language from the 2 options, highlight either English or Spanish by pressing the [▲] or the [▼] button
    3. Press [SAVE]
  • How do I change the dial mode from tone to pulse?
    To change the dial mode on the phone, do the following procedure:
    1. On the handset press [MENU]
    2. Press [#] [1] [2] [0]
    3. Select your desired setting
    4. Press [SAVE] to retain the setting
  • How do I chain dial from this phone?
    This feature allows you to dial phone numbers in the phonebook while you are on a call. This feature can be used, for example, to dial a calling card access number or bank account PIN that you have stored in the phonebook, without having to dial manually. Proceed in calling the number you need to contact then, start chain dialing by pressing [Ph.book] on the handset. Select your desired entry from the phonebook items then press [CALL], the phone should automatically dial the number.
  • How do I block incoming calls/ numbers?
    With caller ID service already subscribed on your line, you may use call block feature to block a call.
    You need to store unwanted callers in the call block list.
    • To store block number manually, press [MENU] [#] [2] [1] [7], and [ADD]; enter 10 digit number then press [SAVE] and [OFF].
    • To store block number from caller list, press [MENU] [#]"[2] [1] [3], then scroll to the number to be blocked and press [SAVE].

    NOTE: call block feature will not work without Caller ID service from the phone company

  • How do I adjust the brightness of the screen on my handset?
    You can adjust the LCD contrast of the handset by following these procedure:
    1. Make sure that the handset is not in use. On the handset press [MENU]
    2. Press [#] [1] [4] [5]
    3. There are 6 levels of selection. Press any of the number keys from 1 - 6
    4. Press the soft key [SAVE] then press [OFF]
  • How do I adjust ringer volume?
    To adjust the ringer volume on the handset, press [MENU] [#] [1] [6] [0] and press [▲] or [▼] to raise or lower the ringer volume.
  • How can I use the mute feature?
    While mute is turned on, you can hear the other party, but the other party cannot hear you. [MUTE] is a soft key visible on the display on the handset only during a call. You can press the soft key anytime during a call. Press [MUTE] again to return to the conversation.
  • How can I register the warranty of my phone?
    You may register your products online by going to: &lt;a target="_blank" href="https://secure2.prodregister.com/panasonic/">https://secure2.prodregister.com/panasonic/</a>. It is not necessary to submit this form in order to effectuate the limited warranty. As long as there is a copy of the receipt, Telephone is warranted for a year starting from the date of purchase.
  • How can I register for the warranty of my product?

  • How can I conference call using multiple handsets?
    A maximum of 4 parties (including 1 outside party) can join a conversation using 3 extensions. (4-way conference)
  • Ever since I've linked my cell phone to the product, if I answer my cell phone directly, occasionally, it will silence for a few seconds at a time. Why does it do that?
    This is related to the auto connect feature. Some models of cell phones automatically mute the phone itself and, while it is connected, only use the Bluetooth connection for sound. To stop this from happening during a call, you can press [1] or [2] on the base (whichever corresponds to the cell phone you're using) so that the LED light turns red. Alternatively, to disable the feature altogether, on the handset press [MENU] [#] [6] [3] [2], and press [&#9650;] or [▼] to raise or lower the time between auto connect attempts. "Off" corresponds to manual reconnect only. To manually reconnect a cell phone to the base, just press the button on the base that corresponds to the cell phone you're using [1] or [2].
  • Does this phone have the talking Caller ID?
    No. This model does not have the Talking caller ID. It is only capable of displaying the Caller ID information on the display.
  • Does my phone have Bluetooth capability?
    Yes. This base model supports Bluetooth connectivity. Your cellular phone must be Bluetooth wireless technology compatible with this product.
    After you register a compatible cellular phone to the unit:
    1. You can use the handset to make or answer calls using a cellular line.
    2. You can get greater reception while you are on a cellular call using the handset.
    3. You can make or answer a cellular call anywhere the additional handsets are located.
    4. You can conserve the battery power of your cellular phone. (While the handset is on a cellular call, the battery of your cellular phone is being consumed. We recommend charging your cellular phone during the cellular call.)
    To use this feature, you must first register your compatible cellular phone to the base unit and connect it to the base unit. To check if your cell phone is compatible, Click here.
  • Does my phone have Bluetooth capability?
    Yes. This base model supports Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth is limited to copying phonebook items from your cell phone to the base and registering a Bluetooth headset for hands free conversation. The phone does not support registration of cell phones to be used for cellular calls, it is not capable of cellular convergence.
  • Does my model have a room monitor feature?
    No, this model does not have a room monitor feature.
  • Does it have speaker phone?
    Yes. The base has a speaker phone button, you can dial from the handset and press the speaker phone button on the base for a hands free conversation. The handsets has a speaker phone option as well.
  • Does it have an audible message alert wherein the phone beeps when I get messages on the machine?
    No, the Answering system does not have an audible alert, when you receive new messages on your machine it will only have the message indicator flash but it will not beep.
  • Do I need to have this phone plugged in to a phone jack?
    No. This telephone system can work without having it plugged on a land line or a conventional phone jack, just use your cellular line subscription for calls. If you do not connect the telephone line cord and use only cellular lines, set the cellular line only mode to use this unit more conveniently. To activate cellular only mode, follow these steps.
    1. On the handset press [MENU] &#8594; [#] [1] [5] [7]
    2. When "ON" is highlighted, press [SELECT]
    3. Once you set this mode to "ON" you may now use the [TALK] button to make calls instead of [CELL]
  • Can I wall mount this phone?
    Yes. The base unit has a built-in wall mounting adaptor. It can be mounted on a wall by revolving the bracket to WALL position (default: DESK stand position). Note: Make sure that the wall is strong enough to support the weight of the unit.
  • Can I still restore phonebook items that I have erased?
    No. The phonebook items are not retrievable. Once it's erased from the phone there is no way to retrieve them back.
  • Can I change the language display on my cordless phone from English to Spanish?
    Yes you may change the language from English (default) to Spanish. To do this, follow the steps provided:
    1. Press [MENU] on the handset
    2. Press [#] [1] [1] [0]
    3. Press your [&#9650;] or your [▼] to select your desired setting
    4. Press [SAVE] then OFF
  • Can I change the font size on the screen on my phone?
    No. The font size is fixed and there is no option to change it on the handset.
  • Can I change the channel of my phone?
    The product operates in the frequency range of 1.92 GHz to 1.93 GHz. The frequency is fixed and the channel cannot be changed, the telephone goes thru the bandwidth automatically.
  • Can I change the backlight timer on my phone? It keeps on turning off the back light.
    No. The handsets are preset for backlight, it is not programmable. When the handset goes idle, it will turn off the backlight to save battery charge.
  • Can I block calls using my phone?
    Yes. Caller ID service is required to identify phone numbers to match what you have stored on the call block list. The unit is capable of blocking up to 250 phone numbers, if you have more than 250 numbers to block then subscribing to a call block service from you phone company is an option.
  • Can I access my answering machine while I am away from home?
    Yes. You can access the answering machine remotely by dialing your phone number on any touch tone phone to call it and as soon as you hear your greeting message play, enter your mailbox password or remote code and follow the voice prompt, as soon as you are done listening to your messages you can hang up.
  • Boost shows up on my handset. How do I get rid of it?
    The clarity booster is a feature that can improve sound clarity when the handset is used in an area where there may be interference. During an outside call, this feature is turned on automatically when necessary. When this feature is turned on, [BOOST] is displayed.
  • Are there any setup tips about the location of the main base unit in relation to range and audio quality?
    Yes. To optimize the range / audio quality, please be aware that metal objects / devices within proximity of the main base unit (less than a few feet), may block base cordless signal to reach the cordless handsets, resulting in deteriorated audio/poor sound quality:
    - Personal computer
    - Fax machine
    - External hard drive
    - Cash register
    - Metal tray for stationary
    - Metal file cabinet
    - Other metal materials
    If you experience distorted audio on the cordless handsets at extended distance/certain spots, please check for the presence of these metal objects/devices, clear them (relocate the main base unit, if necessary) and you should hear better audio afterwards.
  • Are the keypads to my handset supposed to be back lit?
    Yes. The supplied handset for this model has a keypad back light.
  • "Zzz" is displayed on my handset. How do I get rid of it.
    This icon refers to the 'Silent Mode' feature. Silent mode allows you to select a period of time during which the handset will not ring for outside calls. This feature is useful for time periods when you do not want to be disturbed, for example, while sleeping. Silent mode can be set for each handset. Before using this feature please set your date and time first. If you see this icon on the handset it means that the 'Silent Mode' feature is currently activated to disable feature follow these procedure:
    1. On the handset press [MENU] then press [#] [2] [3] [8]
    2. Select [OFF] then press [SAVE], press [OFF] to exit the setting.
  • I want to talk to 2 external numbers on my one line phone. What is "three way calling" and how do I perform this?
    A Three way call is a phone call in which the person who is calling wishes to talk to two other parties. It is a service offered by phone companies which allows you to call a party and by pressing the [Flash] button it allows you to receive another dial tone to call another phone number. Pressing [Flash] again will join all three parties together.
  • I took the batteries out of the handset just for a second and when I put them back in, the low battery icon flashes and the screen displays "charge for 7h". Is this normal?
    This is normal. When the batteries are taken out, the handset loses track of how much the batteries are charged. You may use the phone normally, but the battery indication will not be accurate until charged for about 7 hours.
  • I hear a series of beeps before my dial tone. Is this normal?
    If your dial tone is interrupted by several short gaps or beeps your phone company is indicating the arrival of a new voice mail message. It is the signal sent by your phone company to let you know that a message is waiting to be retrieved. If you are subscribed to a voice mail service from your provider this is normal. Please contact your phone company so you may know the procedure on hot to retrieve those message stores on your phone company's mailbox.
  • I have stored a number on my answering machine for message alert call, how do I turn it on?
    On the handset press [MENU] then the pound sign [#]. Press [3] [3] [8] Scroll to "On/Off" then press [SELECT]. Scroll to "On" then press [SAVE].
  • I have programmed the date and time on my phone but the information changes. Why does the date and time change automatically?
    If you are subscribed to Caller ID from your phone company, the unit's date and time setting will be automatically adjusted when caller information is received. If you do not wish for this feature to work, press [MENU] [#] [2] [2] [6] on the handset, then press [0] to select "Manual" and press [SAVE]
  • I have multiple handsets and I do not want the rest of the handsets to listen to my conversation when I am using my phone. How do I do this?
    The privacy mode is a feature on our Panasonic phones that prevents others from barging in, sharing a call or listening in to conversations when one of the handset is in use. You can Press [MENU] [#] [1] [9] [4] and select "ON" then press [SAVE] on the handset, this will activate the privacy mode for that one handset, you would need to repeat the same procedure for the rest of the registered handset if you would want this feature to be turned OFF for the entire system.
  • I have DSL service, will my phone be affected if I connect it on the same phone line?
    No. Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) is a service provided to connect over the internet transmitting over your local telephone line and is subsequently separated by filtering, so a DSL filter is recommended to eliminate noise on the background on your phone. Most DSL service providers would have the filters available for their subscribers, you may also check out your local electronic stores for availability. If you are not getting any service from your phone there is still a possibility of a phone line problem even if your DSL is working properly.
  • I have already answered the call but my phones kept on ringing. How do I fix it?
    Make sure that the ringer tone is not set to melody. If ringer is already set properly but the telephone still does the same thing, unplug the base unit from the power outlet for 5 seconds and remove the batteries from the handset then put everything back and test the unit.

    If the procedure won't work and telephone was purchased within a year, ship the unit to Panasonic Exchange Center address: 4900 George McVay Drive, Suite B No.12, McAllen, TX 78503. We recommend UPS. Carefully pack in a padded shipping carton and include all accessories. Include a letter detailing the complaint, a return address and provide a day time phone number where you can be reached. P.O. Boxes are not acceptable. Keep the tracking number for your records. A copy of valid registered receipt is required under the 1 year parts and labor Limited Warranty. Refurbished replacement is to be delivered within 7-10 business days.   • I can't hear a dial tone on my phone.
    Make sure that the base unit has power. Check if all cords are secure and plugged in properly from the wall and from the back of the base unit. Try to plug the unit to a known working jack then test again. If you have a different phone on the same line, and you are also not getting a dial tone, it is possibly a line problem. If that is the case, it is advised to contact your local phone company for further assistance.
  • I cannot register my cell phone to my Panasonic phone.
    Before you proceed in registering your cell phone to the base note, the following information:
    • Make sure that no Bluetooth device such as a Bluetooth headset is connected to your cellular phone.
    • Check your cell phone's compatibility by clicking here
    • Make sure that your cellular phone is set to connect to this product automatically. Refer to your cellular phone's operating instructions.
    • We recommend having the cellular phone within a meter or 3.3 feet from the base unit while trying to register.
  • I cannot operate the answering system.
    It is possible that:

    1. Someone is using the unit. Wait for the other user to finish and hang up.
    2. A caller is leaving a message. Wait for the caller to finish.
    3. The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer to the main station.
  • I am trying to set up my phone and it says in the manual to press [OK], where is the button [OK] on my handset?
    The [OK] button is the middle soft key button. Soft keys are used in programming the phone system they are buttons that are not labeled on the Handset. They are located just below the screen on the handset and they function for whichever option is displayed on the screen.
  • I am experiencing Static and a humming noise in the background every-time I use my Panasonic phone. How do I fix it?
    If you are hearing static on your phone, reception breaks in and out or experiencing humming noise on the background while using your cordless phone, it might be caused by a transmission or electric interference, noise can also come from the phone lines, it would be best to locate the source of the interference first and a simple method of determining this would be to verify if static is heard on your other set of phones aside from the Panasonic. You can also try to relocate or plug the Panasonic phone to a different area where there is less interference. If you are subscribed to DSL service it is recommended to use a DSL filter, most DSL service providers would have the filters available for their subscribers, you may also check out your local electronic stores for availability.
  • How to add a Phonebook Entry?
    To add a phonebook item, follow these procedure:
    1. On the handset press the soft key for the Phonebook Icon then press [ADD]
    2. Enter the name by pressing the corresponding alphabet from the numbers on the handset keypad, press [OK]
    3. Dial the phone number of the contact then press [OK]
    4. Press the [&#9650;] or the [▼] button to select group then press [SELECT] twice on the handset.
  • How much radiation do these phones output?
    This product complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. RF transmission power is 115 mW (max.)
  • How many messages can be stored on my answering machine?
    The total recording capacity (including your greeting message) is about 18 minutes. A maximum of 64 messages can be recorded.
  • How many items can I store on my phonebook?
    The shared phonebook allows you to make calls without having to dial manually. Any handset registered to the base unit can use the shared phonebook. You can add 50 names and phone numbers to the shared phonebook, and assign each phonebook entry to the desired group.
    Only 1 person can access the shared phonebook at a time.
  • How many handsets can be used with one main base unit?
    Up to a maximum of 6 cordless handsets can be used with one main base unit.
  • How many characters can I put on my phone book?
    Your phone can store up to 16 characters for the name and 24 digits for the number.
  • How far can the handset reach if I have the range extender?
    Although it is not possible to give the range in actual distance using the KX-TGA405 Range Extender, it will increase the distance you can use the handsets from the base. The status light must be lit Green.
  • How does the power back up operation work?
    When a power failure occurs, the charged handset temporarily supplies power to the base dunit (power back-up mode). This allows you to make and receive landline calls using a handset during a power failure. The base unit will not perform any other functions. However, some functions such as Caller ID and shared phonebook are available only when using a handset other than the handset supplying power to the base unit.
    Important:
    • If a handset is not placed on the base unit when a power failure occurs, "Base no power Press OFF" is displayed. After pressing OFF on the handset, place it on the base unit to start power back-up mode.
    • Power back-up mode will not work if the battery level of the power supplying handset is low
    • Do not lift the power supplying handset from the base unit during power back-up mode.
    • Do not touch the handset's charge contacts during power back-up mode.
    • If the battery level is low, the unit will not work sufficiently during power back-up mode.
  • How does phonebook sharing work?
    Phone book sharing occurs automatically between handsets. It is not necessary to manually copy entries in the phone book from one handset to the other. Also, a phone book entry deleted on one handset is deleted from the other handsets as well.
  • How do I use call waiting?
    To use call waiting, you must first subscribe to the call waiting service of your service provider/telephone company. If you already have the service activated on your phone line you will hear a few beeps during a call to place the first person on hold and answer the second party, press [FLASH] OR [CALL WAIT] button on the handset. The current call is then put on hold, and the other call is answered. You can press [FLASH] OR [CALL WAIT] button to go between the two calls as often as needed.
  • How do I unblock a number from my call block list?
    To unblock a number do the following procedure:
    1. On the handset press [MENU]
    2. Press [#] [2] [1] [7]
    3. Press the [&#9650;] or the [▼] to select your desired entry
    4. Press the softkey [ERASE], press [SELECT] on "Yes"
    5. Press [OFF] to exit the setting.
  • How do I turn on my answering machine?
    To turn on the answering machine on the base unit, just press the answer on button, the light indicator will turn on to confirm that your answering machine is ready to pick up messages. To turn on or off the answering machine using your cordless handset, perform the following steps:

  • How do I turn off Talking Caller ID, the voice that announces the name or the number of the person calling me?
    To turn off Talking Caller ID at the base, press [MENU] [#] [*] [1] [6] [2], and press [▲] or [▼] to turn the base Caller ID on or off. To turn off Talking Caller ID at one of the handsets, press [MENU] [#] [1] [6] [2], and press [▲] or [▼] to turn the handset Caller ID on or off.   • How do I set up speed dial on my phone?
    You can assign 1 phone number to each of the dial keys (1 to 9) on the handset. Press and hold the desired speed dial number, choose from 0 to 9 then press [ADD], Scroll to "Manual" then press [SELECT]. Enter the party's name then press [OK] Dial the party's phone number then press [OK], press [SELECT].
    If you have a phonebook item which you want stored on your speed dial number then follow the same procedure as above but scroll down to "Phonebook" instead of "Manual" then scroll to the desired item then press [SAVE]
    Note: If you edit a phonebook entry which is assigned to a speed dial key, the edited entry does not transfer to the speed dial key.
  • How do I send my phone in for repair?
    It is recommended to exhaust all troubleshooting steps before unit is sent for repair. If the procedure won't work and the telephone was purchased within a year, ship the unit to Panasonic Exchange Center address: 4900 George McVay Drive, Suite B No.12, McAllen, TX 78503. We recommend UPS. Carefully pack in a padded shipping carton and include all accessories.   • How do I scroll thru the menu selection on this handset?
    You can scroll thru the menu selection by pressing the [&#9650;] or the [▼] button, it is the biggest button in the handset located in between the [TALK] and [OFF] button.
  • How do I retrieve erased messages?
    You can no longer retrieve deleted messages from the machine. Once you erase a message it gets deleted from the phone's memory.
  • How do I reset my phone?
    To reset the phone system, unplug the main base from the electrical outlet and remove the batteries for 5 seconds. Install the batteries and replug the base. Do not reset your phone unless necessary.
  • How do I register my cell phone to the base?
    Before you proceed in registering your cell phone to the base note, the following information:
    • Make sure that no Bluetooth device such as a Bluetooth headset is connected to your cellular phone.
    • Check your cell phone's compatibility by clicking here
    • Make sure that your cellular phone is set to connect to this product automatically. Refer to your cellular phone's operating instructions.
    • We recommend having the cellular phone within a meter or 3.3 feet from the base unit while trying to register.

    To register your cell phone follow these procedure:
    1. On the cordless handset, press [MENU][#] [6] [2] [4] [1] FOR CELL 1
    2. You can also press [MENU][#] [6] [2] [4] [2] FOR CELL 2
    3. While the CELL 1 or CELL 2 indicator is flashing red on the base , follow the instructions of your cellular phone to pair and/or search for the base unit. Make sure your Bluetooth connection is on discoverable mode.
    4. Depending on your cellular phone, it may ask you to enter the base unit PIN (default: "0000").
    5. Wait for a long beep from the cordless handset to confirm registration is done. It may take more than 10 seconds to complete registration. When the CELL indicator on the base turns green, it means the cell phone is already connected to the Panasonic base unit.
  • How do I register my Bluetooth headset?
    Before you proceed in registering your Bluetooth headset to the base note, the following information:
    • Make sure that no Bluetooth device is not connected to your Bluetooth headset.
    • Refer to your Bluetooth headset's operating instructions for proper procedure in pairing it to another device.
    • Only one Bluetooth headset can be connected and used to the base unit.

    To register your Bluetooth headset follow these procedure:

    1. Set your Bluetooth headset to registration mode. On the cordless handset, press [MENU] &#8594; [#] [6] [2] [1]
    2. Enter your headset PIN, typically the default PIN is 0000 or refer to your headset's operating instructions.
    3. Press [OK] on the handset and wait for a long beep to confirm headset registration.
    4. When the headset indicator on the base unit turns green, you are ready to use the headset.
  • How do I properly charge my handsets?
    To ensure that the batteries charge properly, clean the charge contacts of the handset, base unit, and charger with a soft, dry cloth once a month. Clean more often if the unit is subject to the exposure of grease, dust, or high humidity. You may place the handset on its cradle after every use without damaging the batteries. Remember that the battery power is consumed whenever the handset is off the base unit or charger, even when the handset is not in use. Charge the battery(ies) provided only with the specified charger and for best performance, we recommend using the Panasonic rechargeable batteries.
    It is normal for the handset to feel warm during charging.
  • How do I place a call on hold on my handset?
    During an outside call and you wish to place the other party on hold, just press [MENU] on the cordless handset and press [SELECT] on for "Hold". To release the call that was placed on hold, just press the [TALK] button on the handset or on another handset if you have multiple cordless phones.
  • How do I install my brand new phone?
    After you open the box of your newly purchased phone, make sure you keep your receipt to validate the warranty of your phone. Check if all items and accessories that are supposed to be included in the box is complete, such as the batteries and the line cord etc. Follow these procedure to install and set-up he unit before use.
    1. READ the operating instructions Safety precautions before use.
    2. Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor PNLV226, plug the tip at the main base unit and plug the adapter directly on a power outlet without any obstruction. Ensure that the AC outlet is installed near the product and is easily accessible.
    3. Use the supplied line cord and plug the cord at the back of the base securely, and the other end needs to be plugged in your telephone jack, make sure that the cord clicks when plugging the line cord on the base and the wall jack. You may now check if you can hear a dial tone when you lift the handset from the base.
    4. Remove the handset cover at the back of the cordless handset and insert the supplied rechargeable batteries inside. Confirm you install the batteries on its correct polarities, positive (+) and negative (-).
    5. USE ONLY Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size.
    6. Charge the new batteries by placing the cordless handset on the cradle. Initial charging needs to be 7 hours.

    After charging the handset, you may now start programming the handsets for your preferred settings.

  • How do I forward calls from my phone to another number?
    This is a service that you can have your phone company activate on your line. The phone is compatible with this service as long as you have call forwarding subscription.
  • How do I erase the phone number programmed on my machine so it will stop calling it every time I receive a message?
    pTo erase the message alert call, perform these procedure:
    1. Press [MENU] on the handset then press the pound sign [#]
    2. Press [3] [3] [8]
    3. Press the [▲] or the [▼] to scroll to "Notification to" then press [SELECT]
    4. Press [MENU] the scroll to "Erase" then press [SELECT]
    5. Scroll to "Yes" and press [SELECT], press OFF to exit.

  • Where is the OK button?
    The handset features soft keys located right below the screen. By pressing a soft key, you can select the feature shown directly above it on the display. When you read the word [OK] on the handset, just press the corresponding soft key button below it.

  • Whenever I try to make a call my handset displays "Busy". How do I fix this?
    1. The called unit is in use.
    2. Other units are in use and the system is busy. Try again later.
    3. The handset you are using is too far from the base unit. Move closer and try again.
    4. There is no handset registered to the base unit matching the handset number you entered.
  • When I answer an incoming call, I have to say "hello" several times before the other party can hear me. How can I fix it?
    Make sure that the handset is not on "MUTE". If the problem still occurs, unplug the base unit from the power outlet for 5 seconds and remove the batteries from the handset then put everything back and test the telephone.   • What should I do if my handset displays "No link to base. Reconnect AC adaptor."?
    Disconnect the AC adapter from the unit, wait for 5 seconds, then reconnect. The plug may have become loose over time or may not be fully inserted. If that does not work, try re-registering the handset.
  • What should I do if my base unit does not have power and there are no lights lit?
    If your base unit is not receiving power then you can try to have the base unit plugged on a different power outlet to test. If you have multiple handsets, you can try to use the AC adapter from one of the smaller chargers and have it plugged on the base. If you have followed the steps mentioned above and you base unit still does not have power, the base unit needs service. Please refer to your operating instructions warranty page for procedure.
  • What should I do if my Answering Machine messages are not being recorded?
    Make sure the answering machine is turned ON by pressing the [ANSWER ON] button till the indicator lights up on the base. Check your greeting message. You may have an extremely short greeting message (less than two seconds) or your Greeting may have been erased. If that is the case, record another greeting message. If you have voice mail from your local phone company adjust the ring count on the answering machine to less than the voice mail ring count. Also, you if you have another phone on the same line that has an answering machine, be sure to turn OFF that other answering machine.
  • What should I do if I can't return a call from the numbers I have on my caller ID and it keeps on giving an area code for local numbers?
    Check the phone number if it is on the correct format, if it shows an area code and you would want that edited, Press the [&#9668;] for CID select which phone number you want to edit by pressing [▲] or [▼] and press [EDIT] repeatedly until it shows the correct number then press TALK. Once you call back an edited number, the handset which was used to call back remembers the area code and format of the edited number. The next time someone calls from the same area code, caller information is customized by the Handset the way you programmed it.
  • What is voice mail and how do I listen to my voice mail messages?
    Some phone companies provide a flat-rate service which includes voice mail, it is a voice mailbox system assigned to your phone line that stores telephone messages which can be retrieved at a later time. Procedure to access your voice mailbox would vary depending on the instructions of your phone company. If you do not wish to use this added service, please contact your telephone service provider to deactivate your Voice Mail subscription.
    If you have a built-in answering machine with your telephone and you prefer to use it instead of your voice mail subscription, then it is recommended to change the ring count of the Voice Mail service so that the answering system can answer the call first. To do so, consult your telephone service provider.
  • What is the warranty of this telephone?
    This Limited Warranty only applies to products purchased and serviced in the United States or Puerto Rico. This Limited Warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and only covers products purchased as new. Coverage of warranty is applied to telephone products purchased within a year which starts with the date of original purchase.   • What is the remote access code by default for accessing the answering machine remotely?
    The default code for accessing the answering machine remotely is "111". To program your own code, perform the following steps on handset or on base unit:
    1. Press [MENU][#] [3] [0] [6].
    2. Enter the desired 3-digit remote access code →[SAVE].

    Remote code can only be changed using the Panasonic phone it cannot be done remotely.

  • What is the Auto talk feature?
    Auto talk is a feature which lets you answer calls simply by lifting the handset off the base unit or charger. You do not need to press the [TALK]. The Auto talk feature will not work if the cordless handset is off the base or charger. Feature needs to be set separately on each handset.
  • What is my phone's voltage?
    Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adapter. The phone operates on 120V, 60 Hz.

    Frequency Shift Keying or FSK is a signal used by service providers to alert you that you have a new voicemail message recorded on your assigned mailbox.
  • What is Eco Mode?
    The intelligent Eco Mode reduces power automatically when the handset is close to the base unit to allow extended talk time. Battery life when using Talk button is about 13 hours when in Eco Mode.
  • Voice Mail indicator doesn't work even though I have some new messages in my voice mail.
    To activate Voice Mail indicator function, you need to store voicemail access # into your handset. To do this, press [MENU] [#] [3] [3] [1], enter the access #, then press [SAVE].
  • The screen on my handset is stuck? How do I fix this?
    Reset the handset by removing batteries for at least 5 seconds, then put them back.
  • The screen is blank on my handset. How do I fix it?
    If you can still use the handset but the screen went blank or won't turn on, you reset the handset. To do this, just remove the handset cover at the back of the cordless handset, remove the battery for a few seconds and insert the battery and close the cover.
    If procedure doesn't work, adjust the LCD contrast by following this procedure:
    1. On the handset press [MENU] [#] [1] [4] [5]
    2. Select the adjustment by pressing number 1-6
    3. Press [SAVE]
  • The indicator light on the handset flashes slowly.
    The handset indicator light will flash for the following reasons:
    If the handset indicator light is flashing rapidly it means a call is being received.
    If a call is kept on hold for more than 9 minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound and the ringer indicator on the handset flashes rapidly as well.
    If the message indicator is flashing slowly, it means that there is a new message recorded on the built-in answering machine, once you listen to the message the indicator light should stop flashing.
    If 'New Voicemail' is displayed on the handset and the indicator flashes slowly, it means you have a new voicemail message, on your mailbox assigned to you by your phone company. If you are unaware of the voicemail subscription you may contact your phone company to get your voicemail PIN.
  • The date and time always changes even if I save the settings. What should I do to fix this?
    You have the "Time Adjustment" feature set to "Auto". This feature allows the unit to automatically adjust the date and time setting when caller information from your landline service is received. To use this feature, set the date and time first. To set this feature to "Manual" follow these procedure:
    1. On the handset press [MENU]
    2. Press [#] [2] [2] [6]
    3. Press [2] for manual
    4. Press [SAVE] then press [OFF] to exit the setting
  • Sometimes the phone rings once, then stops, but shows a message on the Handset LCD screen that says "caller blocked". What does this mean?
    Caller ID subscription is needed to have the call block to work. The call blocking feature rejects callers that are in the block list. To receive these calls again, you need to remove those entries from the block list. To access this list, press [MENU] [#] [2] [1] [7], and press [&#9650;] or [▼] to scroll through the list. Once you find an entry to delete, press [ERASE], then press [Yes] to confirm.
  • My telephone says 'Check Tel Line' and I cannot call out. What will I do to fix this?
    The supplied telephone line cord has not been connected yet or not connected properly. Check the connections by making sure the line cord is secure. When you plug the phone line cord at the back of the phone make sure you hear it click. You can also try to have the telephone plugged on a different phone jack inside the house, if there is none, try to take it to a neighbor or friends house to be tested, to be sure you are not having a line problem.
  • My handset says "line in use". How do I clear it?
    Make sure that the base unit has power. "Line in use" is displayed if the line is currently active on a call. If you have multiple handsets, it is possible that one of them is turned on so check the rest of the handset and turn it off.
    Check if all connections are secure and plugged properly from the wall and from the back of the base unit. If none of the handsets are in use, try to unplug the base unit from the power outlet for 5 seconds then replug and test the line by calling you line using your cell phone or a different phone line.
  • My handset keypad keeps blinking.? What's wrong?
    This is normal. Please recharge handset. When the battery voltage becomes low, the battery icon on the handset LCD will blink. If you don't recharge handset battery, the LED will shut off, and the Keypad light will blink to warn you to put the handset on the charger.
  • My handset displays, "Please lift up and try again".
    You attempted to dial from the cordless handset while located in the charger. Lift the handset out of the charger and try again. If the same error message appears on the handset after lifting the handset from the cradle, reset the handset by removing the battery from the phone then re-install them again.
  • My handset displays, "Insert battery" What does this mean and how do I clear this error from my display?
    A wrong type of battery such as Alkaline or Manganese was inserted. Use only the Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries. Never use Alkaline or any other types as these could damage your handset.
  • My handset displays 'Line in use' and I cannot receive incoming calls. What does this mean and how do I clear this error from my handset?
    Someone might be using the line. If you have multiple handsets, please check all of your cordless phones if they were properly hung up. If you have already done this, and the error 'Line in use' is still appearing on the phone, check if your other phone is getting a dial tone. If the problem seems to be happening with all of your phones, then you might be experiencing a possible line problem, you can try to plug the telephone on a totally different line like your neighbor's or friend's house.
    If the problem is only happening with the Panasonic phone follow these procedure:
    1. Unplug your Panasonic phone both from the phone jack.
    2. Try relocating the telephone on a different phone jack inside the house.
    3. Try using a different line cord if you have any other available.
    4. If steps above still doesn't work, telephone might need service, please refer to your instructions warranty page for procedure.
  • My handset displays "Missed call" calls". How do I clear it?
    You received a call that was unanswered, but the caller didn't leave a message, or left a message in voice mail. If you have Caller ID, you can press [&#9668;] and press "OFF" to erase.
  • My Caller ID is not working on my phone. How do I fix it?
    You must confirm that your Caller ID service is working properly from your phone company and the best way for you to verify is to check other Caller ID compatible phones in the house. If the rest of your other phones is not showing the caller ID number as well, it is recommended to call your phone company. If problem is only happening on your Panasonic phone then have the phone plugged in on a different phone jack to test, you may also change the line mode setting on your phone if it doesn't work. To change line mode, on your handset press [MENU] [#] [1] [2] [2] then change setting from default "B" to "A" then press [SAVE] then [OFF].
  • My caller ID information is displayed late.
    Disconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line cord from the base unit. Remove the batteries from the handset and leave to dry for at least 3 days. After the handset/base unit are completely dry, reconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line cord. Insert the batteries and charge fully before use. If the unit does not work properly, contact an authorized service center.

    CAUTION: To avoid permanent damage, do not use a microwave oven to speed up the drying process.
  • My caller ID information is displayed late.
    Depending on your service provider or telephone company, the unit may display or announce the caller's information at the second ring or later. Move closer to the base unit.
  • My answering machine says "memory full" and it no longer records messages. What can I do about this?
    The error message indicates that the answering machine's maximum recording time was reached. You need to erase messages from your answering machine for it to start recording new messages again.
  • Missed calls are appearing on my screen. Why?
    If a call is not answered on a specific handset, the unit treats it as a missed call. The display shows "Missed call". This lets you know if you should view the caller list to see who called while you were away. You can clear the message from the handset by viewing your caller list.
  • Messages are announced out loud, how do I turn off call screening?
    The call screening feature allows you to monitor a message from the base and the handset's speaker when the answering system is recording a message. The default setting is "On". To turn this feature off, follow these procedures:
    1. You can either use the base or the handset. Press [MENU] [#] [3] [1] [0]
    2. Use your [&#9650;] or your [▼] to select "Off"
    3. Press [SAVE]
  • It is not letting me return a call from the numbers I have on my caller ID and it keeps on giving an area code for local numbers. What do I need to do?
    Check the phone number if it is on the correct format, if it shows an area code and you would want that edited, Press the [3] for CID select which phone number you want to edit by pressing [&#9650;] or [▼] and press [EDIT] repeatedly until it shows the correct number then press TALK. Once you call back an edited number, the handset which was used to call back remembers the area code and format of the edited number.     Yes. The phone system passes the FCC requirement no. 68 and it also complies to the "TIA-1083" standard. Phone has have reduced noise and interference when used with T-Coil equipped hearing aids and cochlear implants.

  • If I buy two bases attached to the same phone number, will I be able to call one base (or its handsets) with the other?
    No. Only intercom calling among handsets registered to the same base are possible.
  • Will I damage the batteries by keeping the phone on the charger?
    No. The batteries that comes with your telephone do not suffer from the same memory effect that older batteries used to have. It is safe to keep the handset on the charger whenever it is not in use. Use only the Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries. Never use Alkaline or any other types as these could damage your handset.
  • Why is the top light flashing on my Handset?
    If your phone system has an answering machine and you see the handset indicator flashing, it simply means that you have a new message recorded on your answering machine. It is also possible that your line is subscribed to a voice mail service from your phone company and your handset is alerting you that your voice mailbox just received a new message. As soon as you have listened to your new messages the handset indicator should automatically turn off the indicator light.
  • Why does my handset display "Please lift up and try again"?
    You attempted to dial from the cordless handset while located in the charger. Lift the handset out of the charger and try again. If the same error message appears on the handset after lifting the handset from the cradle, reset the handset by removing the battery from the phone then re-install them again.
  • Why do I hear an echo on my handset?
    This is normal. When you first use your phone, there may be a slight echo because the microphone is being calibrated. This will occur again if the base is disconnected from the power outlet, or after a power outage. If echo continues for several days try to reset the handset by removing the batteries from the cordless handset for a few seconds.
  • Why do I hear a series of dial tones followed by a continuous dial tone after I lift the corded handset or press [TALK] on the cordless handset?
    If your dial tone is interrupted by several short gaps or beeps your phone company is indicating the arrival of a new voice mail message. It is the signal (sometimes called "voice mail tones" or "stutter tones") sent by your phone company to let users know that a message is waiting to be retrieved. If you are subscribed to a voice mail service from your provider this is normal. Please contact your phone company so you may know the procedure on hot to retrieve those message stores on your phone company's mailbox.
  • Why do I hear a series of beeps before my dial tone?
    If your dial tone is interrupted by several short gaps or beeps your phone company is indicating the arrival of a new voice mail message.   • Why can I receive calls with my registered cell phone but not make them?

  • Why am I not hearing my greeting message when my answering machine picks up?
    The answering machine is not designed to play the greeting message out loud when machine answers a call.
