  • Why am I unable to send a fax?
    The telephone line cord may be connected to the [EXT] jack on the unit. Connect to the [LINE] jack.
    1. If you used a splitter/coupler to connect the unit, remove the splitter/coupler and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter/coupler.
    2. Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company.
    3. The power cord or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections.
    4. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.

  • What should I do if I have no dial tone on my fax machine?
    1. Check the power cord and telehpone line cord connections.
    2. Try a different telephone line cord. Problem may be with the phone cord.
    3. Unplug the fax machine and install a different portable phone on the wall jack where the product is currently plugged. If the portable phone has a dial tone then it's a problem with the machine. Please call the technical Helpline for options. If the portable phone doesn't have dial tone but is working on the other jack then there could be a problem with the jack where the machine is currently plugged in to.
    4. The telephone line cord may be connected to the [EXT] jack on the product instead of the [LINE] jack.
    5. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.
    6. Relocate the product.
  • What is the maximum number of recipients I can fax a document to?
    You can send a fax to a maximum of 20 recipients once they have been programmed into the broadcast memory.
  • What is the default user name and password used for the Web Configuration Page for my product?
    The default user name and password for the Web Configuration Page is user (username) 1234 (password).
  • There are smudges or streaks on all the print outs made by my machine. How do I fix it?
    Streaks, smudges or markings on all print outs made by the machine means that the drum for the machine has reached its drum life. A drum can be used with 3 to 4 toner cartridge replacements. If you have used more than the said number we suggest that you replace the drum to correct the issue.
  • The documents that I faxed out or copy has a black lines on it. How do I fix it?
    The scanner glass may be dirty with debris such as "white out" or just plain dirt.
    1. Unplug the unit and locate the scanner glass
    2. Clean with dry cloth or if necessary, use a damped cloth with rubbing alcohol to help remove dirt
    3. Dry thoroughly before replugging the unit
  • Is this product compatible with Windows 7? If so where can I download the software driver?

  • Is the multi function software compatible with MAC?
    Not all models are compatible with MAC, only the following models that were released for 2010 will support MAC, aside from the KXMC6020 & KXMC6040.
  • I'm getting Communication Errors while sending or receiving a fax, how do I resolve this issue?
    A communication error is a line problem. This can be either with your phone line or with the party that you are sending the fax to. Confirm with the other end if they are having problems. You can also send to another number to find out if the problem lies. Also if you are using a splitter remove it and plug the phone cord for the machine directly to the phone jack. If you have a DSL service try using a DSL filter.
  • I am getting a call service 3 on my product. What do I do to fix it?
    Call Service 3 is an error message shown when the machine does not heat up properly. We recommend that you check the power cord for the machine or move it to a different power outlet. If the message is still shown please contact our tech help line for repair options.
  • How to turn ON my distinctive Ring?
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [4] [3] [0].
    2. Press [1] to select "ON" or [0] to select "OFF".
    3. Press the [SET] button.

  • How to remove recording paper jam near the rollers?
    Open the unit by pushing the open lever upward then pull the left cover. Do not touch the rollers. Remove the jammed paper by pulling it towards you carefully. Close the left cover.

    1. Do not remove the document jammed forcibly on the ADF cover.
    2. Open the ADF cover by holding the document cover.
    3. Remove the paper from the document entrance or near the document exit carefully.
    4. Close the cover.

      Note: [5] is the default setting which is B-D.

    2. Enter your logo, up to 30 characters. Every key corresponds to a certain character
      Example: PANA Press [7] once then [2] once [6] twice [2] once
      NOTE: To enter a character that is located on the same dial key as the previously entered character, you must first press [►] to move the cursor to the next space
      To make corrections: Press [◄] or [►] to move the cursor to the incorrect character, and enter the correct character. You can also press [STOP] to delete the incorrect character left to the cursor
      Pressing [#] will change the character to upper-case or lower-case alternatively
    3. Press [SET] to save
    4. Press [MENU] to exit

    Note: Make sure that the [FAX] button is lid up, if not just press the [FAX] button.
    1. Place the document facing UP until you hear a beep

Select the unit's name as the active printer. If you had changed the name of the printer during installation then select the name from the list. Click [Print] for the unit to start printing.
  • How can I connect my fax machine to a home phone line with an answering machine on the same line?
    To ensure both your answering machine and fax work hand in hand to receive messages and faxes, they must be connected to each other. The telephone line port from the answering machine that is normally plugged into the wall jack should be connected into the EXT port of the fax machine. Then set your answering machine to pick up on the 4th or lower ring count and the fax to 5 EXT TAM.
  • Can I refill the toner cartridge in this printer?
    No. The toner cartidge should be replaced and not refilled.
