  • What should I do if my product needs service?

    Please include your name, address, telephone number, email address, copy of your purchase receipt (for warranty service), and a description of what is wrong with the unit. Freight collect shipments will not be accepted.

    Panasonic is not responsible for damage that occurs in transit. All contents should be packaged for safe travel to the service center. Customer should use a reputable small package shipping company that is able to provide a package tracking number and insurance (if customer should so desire to insure their package).

    Units that are abused, damaged, infested with insects, have corrosion, etc. will be placed out-of-warranty.

  • Why is there no power to the fax machine?
    Make sure that the power cord is connected. Also, try a different power outlet.
  • Why is there a "Replace drum" message appearing on the printer's display?
    It may be time to replace both the toner cartridge and drum cartridge. Please check for availability online at
  • Why does a "Toner Low" message appear on the printer's display?

    It may be time to replace the toner catridge. Please check for availability online at

  • Why am I unable to send a fax?
    The telephone line cord may be connected to the [EXT] jack on the unit. Connect to the [LINE] jack.
    1. If you used a splitter/coupler to connect the unit, remove the splitter/coupler and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter/coupler.
    2. Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company.
    3. The power cord or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections.
    4. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.
  • Where do I get the updated software for my multi function fax?

  • What should I do if I have no dial tone on my fax machine?
    1. Check the power cord and telehpone line cord connections.
    2. Try a different telephone line cord. Problem may be with the phone cord.
    3. Unplug the fax machine and install a different portable phone on the wall jack where the product is currently plugged. If the portable phone has a dial tone then it's a problem with the machine. Please call the technical Helpline for options. If the portable phone doesn't have dial tone but is working on the other jack then there could be a problem with the jack where the machine is currently plugged in to.
    4. The telephone line cord may be connected to the [EXT] jack on the product instead of the [LINE] jack.
    5. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.
    6. Relocate the product.
  • What is the default user name and password used for the Web Configuration Page for my product?
    The default user name and password for the Web Configuration Page is user (username) 1234 (password).
  • There are smudges or streaks on all the print outs made by my machine. How do I fix it?
    Streaks, smudges or markings on all print outs made by the machine means that the drum for the machine has reached its drum life. A drum can be used with 3 to 4 toner cartridge replacements. If you have used more than the said number we suggest that you replace the drum to correct the issue.
  • The documents that I faxed out or copy has a black lines on it. How do I fix it?
    The scanner glass may be dirty with debris such as "white out" or just plain dirt.
    1. Unplug the unit and locate the scanner glass
    2. Clean with dry cloth or if necessary, use a damped cloth with rubbing alcohol to help remove dirt
    3. Dry thoroughly before replugging the unit
  • Is this product compatible with Mac? If so where can I download the software driver?

  • Is the multi function software compatible with MAC?
    Not all models are compatible with MAC, only the following models that were released for 2010 will support MAC, aside from the KXMC6020 & KXMC6040.
  • How do I make a copy using the scanner glass?
    Note: Make sure that the [COPY] button is lid up, if not just press the [COPY] button
    1. Place the document facing down
    2. Close the document cover. Change the resolution and contrast according to the type of document that you have
    3. Key in the number of copies that you need to copy
    4. Press [BLACK] or [WHITE] then it will start copying. After you finish copying, press the [STOP] to go back to the default settings
  • How do I change the language on this printer?
    The default language is English. Press [Menu] then press [#] [1] [1] [0]. Press [1] to select "English" or [2] to select "Spanish". Press [Set] then press [Menu].
  • How do I adjust the ringer volume of my fax machine?
    Note: Before adjusting the volume, set the operation mode to FAX mode. If The [FAX] light is OFF, turn it ON by pressing [FAX]
    1. Make sure that the fax is not in use
    2. Press the navigator arrow up [▲] or arrow down [▼] to adjust the volume

    Note: Make sure there's no paper on the document entrance

  • How can I scan multiple documents on my machine?
    To scan multiple documents you can use the ADF or automatic document feeder. Make sure to fan each document first then put them into the ADF face up. Press [SCAN] on the machine and it should scan each document one by one and then you can save the file accordingly. Please see your operating manual for other possible scanning options.
  • How can I register for the warranty of my product?
    You may register your products online by clicking here. It is not necessary to submit this form in order to effectuate the limited warranty. As long as there is a copy of the receipt, your product warranty begins from the date of purchase.
  • How can I print a document on my computer which has the Windows 8 Operating System (OS)?
    On your computer, open the document that you wish to print. Go to the [File] menu then select [Print]. A dialog box will appear with the various print options. Select the unit's name as the active printer. If you had changed the name of the printer during installation then select the name from the list. Click [Print] for the unit to start printing.
  • Can I refill the toner cartridge in this printer?
    No. The toner cartidge should be replaced and not refilled.
