Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from My Favorite Lens on the GH1 Purchased the 20mm H-H020 lens for my GH1, and it has become my favorite over the stock lens. It’s very light weight. Great clarity and image quality. The 1.7f allows me to take most indoor pictures without a flash. At an indoor youth soccer arena from the sidelines the flash is ineffective and the exposure is too dark with the stock lens, but this camera takes nice pictures on ISO 100 with 1.7f using the (A)perture setting on the GH1. While there is no image stabilizer, it’s more a feature required for a zoom lens, as the 1.7f the shutter speed on this lens can freeze most images from handshake, up to 1/4000ths of a second in daylight. The H-H020 can take nice outdoor scenery pictures to capture all the detail in the yard and take a close portrait my child with the nice blurred background. While I still love the stock lens, seems I only use it when I’m outdoors and need the zoom; otherwise, you’ll find this lens on my GH1 most of the time. Like others noted, this lens is a bit pricey, so I gave it 4 stars on value, though I could not be more pleased with the performance and quality of this lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Very fast ideal prime lens This is the must have lens if you're picking up the GF-1. This lens is incredibly sharp and fast. Indoor photos look great because you don't have to bump up the ISO to compensate for a slower aperature. Outdoor photos are crisp. This is a perfect "walk about" lens. It's not ideal for landscape (40mm equiv focal lenth). It's also not a great lens for studio portraits because of the shallow DOF. You want something in the 40-50mm (80-100mm equiv) for good portraits. Overall a fantastic lens by any measure (or manufacturer).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from My favorite lens How is there not a review yet for this lens? This is the lens I use 90% of the time. The pictures taken with it are BEAUTIFUL with great depth of field; bokeh is pleasing to the eye, and it is a much better value than the comparable Leica lens. Keep in mind this lens does NOT have OIS, but the Leica Pen camera body does... so that would be the ideal pairing for me. I'm currently shooting the G1, and as long as I keep my speed above 40 I can still shoot hand-held without any image blur. Other reviews I've read praise the silent operation of this lens, but I find my 14-45mm focuses more quickly and is about half as noisy when you snap a picture. This is my only criticism and well worth the cost of admission!
