Progressive Scan DVD Recorder with Digital Tuner, VCR & Included HDMI Cable. DTV Transition Solution.

Progressive Scan DVD Recorder with VHS VCR, Digital Tuner, 1080p Up-Conversion, HDMI Simple Connection, VIERA Link 8482;, SD Memory Card Slot, USB Terminal, Super Multi-Format Recording & Playback and Included HDMI Cable

1080p Up-Conversion
By interpolating video data using proprietary algorithms, SD format data is up-converted to 1080 x 1920p HD format video data. This conversion increases the richness of the original data by almost six fold, producing the highest possible image quality when viewing content on a large-screen HDTV.

Digital Tuner Capable
The high-performance hybrid digital tuner is capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. And even when digital signals drop out because of interference with direct signal access, which makes the picture either disappear or become filled with block noise, the Digital Tuner still produces a beautiful picture.

Easy Operation with VIERALink 8482;
Connect your Panasonic DVD recorder to your VIERA flat-panel HDTV via an HDMI cable, and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the recorder. Once the Auto Preset Download is complete, the DVD recorder will keep whichever TV channel you're watching as its receiving channel. This means you can record the program you're watching by just pressing the Record button on the VIERA remote. With VIERALink 8482;, you don't have to worry about setting the recorder to the right channel every time you want to record something.

Expansion of Usages
The Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK DVD recorder is equipped with an SD Memory Card slot and USB terminal, which makes it easy to view photos from your digital camera. Just slip the SD card into the slot or use the cable to connect the camera to the USB terminal, and you're ready to enjoy a spectacular big-screen slideshow with family and friends. You can even listen to music recorded onto a USB device while viewing your photos.

Universal Design
All of our DVD recorder models are designed in compliance with Panasonic's Universal Design principles. Frequently used buttons (Power, Open/Close) are located at the top of the main unit to make them easier to see when the unit is placed in a rack and you need to look down when operating it. Both the remote control and graphical user interface (GUI) were designed for easy use by everyone, based on the results of a Panasonic survey.

Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Purchase Ever. I purchased 2 years ago, still working great, Recentely purchased same refurbished model to keep as spare one. Also Purchased from web site DMR_EH 69 with 325HDD has lot of features too. (NTSC/PAL) Both are easy to use and also yu can record on double layer disc too.Panasonic Products are great rearly needs service. March 21, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Frustration from day one Who can make a modern machine with a digital clock that cannot keep time?Panasonic. Unit comes on to record at preset time but counter stays at zero and nothing is recorded. Manual is totally user unfriendly. Why did I keep it? I purchased two (man cave and family room) and one still keeps plugging along. Often have to RESET to get a timer recording set .. then don't know if it is going to be on the disc or not. Do like being able to title recordings even with it being a time consuming drill. March 2, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by I"m happy Generally happy with product for my purposes - easy to copy my old personal VHS recordings to DVDs and enjoy scheduled recordings to watch when convient for me. Wish there was more detailed info in the manual, although what is presented guides me thru most things I want to do. January 29, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely dissatisfied. Constant malfunction. Constantly shows 'disk incompatible' even when I reset everything or when the unit freezes. Very disappointed. I expected more. Recording when it does happen is good. But too unpredictable. Unit is less than nine months old. I will not buy a Panasonic again. Also, when I record or finalize there is a constant grinding in the unit. January 2, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Many Problems This Player has many issues including loss of audio that requires unplugging the unit to get it to work again, Does not handle scratched DVD's at all, Locks up, which requires the unit to be unplugged, Gets lost in channel changing at times, November 24, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by totally dissatisfied csr bought this from costco..this unit does NOT have an LP mode when copying to a DVD..I have 2 older still works..the other shows a DVD in the machine..when there isn't that's broke.....does anybody do a quality check on these machines? November 17, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by bad dvd recorder the unit was working slowly, i updated the firmware & bingo stoped working, not the best panasonic product. August 8, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by Panasonic DMR-EZ485A I have wasted so much time and ruined many blank DVDs trying simply to copy a VHS tape to a DVD blank -- recording stops before VHS is done; cannot stop the recording using the STOP button; doesn't automatically finalize when it finishes recording to a DVD (if it finishes!); locks up or freezes in the recording mode, which the Panasonic help line says can be overcome by holding the power button in for 10 seconds (this advice worked). This is the 2nd brand new unit from Costco that I have tried and I am returning it, too! April 24, 2010
