  • Why won't a rented disc play in my player?
    If you're having difficulty playing a disc that you have rented or borrowed, try a disc that you own to see if it plays. If it does play then there could be a problem with the borrowed or rented disc. Try cleaning the disc with a soft cloth to remove any debris or fingerprints.
  • Why is a "No Read" error message appearing on my product?
    Ensure that the surface of the disc is not dirty, scratched or smudged, or try another disc and see what happens. If the product is unable to play all discs, then it will require servicing.
  • Why can't a rented disc play in my player?
    If you're having difficulty playing a disc that you have rented or borrowed, try a disc that you own to see if it plays.
    If it does play then there could be a problem with the borrowed or rented disc. Try cleaning the disc with a soft cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges.
  • Where can I order parts for my product?

  • Where can I find the firmware for my device?
    Click here and enter your model number into the Get Support Now search box. Once your model appears, click on the "Support" link under the picture of your model. This will bring you to the Support Page for your model. If there are any firmware updates available for your model, they will be located under the Drivers & Downloads tab. If there is no Drivers & Downloads tab, your device's firmware is up to date.
  • What is the emergency eject procedure for this "Recorder" or "Player"?
    1. Product must be OFF. 2. Hold the [STOP] & [CHANNEL UP] ON THE UNIT together for over 5 seconds. 3. Tray will open.
  • What is the emergency disc eject procedure for this product?

  • What is a U56 Error on my DMRE?
    On the DMRE units one will see USb on the display when scrolling through the various inputs (SD,DVD, etc.) this may be mistaken for a U56 error message. Press the [Input] button to change the input being displayed.
  • The remote control for my Panasonic device is no longer functioning. Is there a remote control code available that will enable me to use another manufacturer's remote to operate this device?
    You will have to contact the remote's manufacturer for the codes needed.
  • The display shows "CHK REMOTE" or "RC1" or "RC2" or "RC3" when I try to use the remote. How do I fix this issue?
    1. Hold the number displayed [1, 2, or 3] & [ENTER] ON THE REMOTE together for over 2 seconds. 2. Remote will change to match unit's code. NOTE: If the remote code on the unit is changing frequently or inexplicably, a firmware update may be required. Do, in this order: 1. Refer customer to Panasonic web site to download and burn firmware for their model to a CD-R. 2. Submit a firmware request.
  • My unit has no power. What do I do?
    If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • My recorded discs do not play in other DVD compatible products. Why not?
    To create a disc that is compatible with other DVD players, the disc must be "finalized" ("finalizing" applies to discs marked DVD-R, DVD-RW or DVD R). The "finalizing" process adds certain files that are needed for the disc to be recognized as the equivalent of a DVD movie. Ensure that you are satisfied with all content being recorded before finalizing a disc as "finalizing" is permanent and prevents re-recording on the disc.
  • My DVD Recorder is stuck in the "Progressive" mode. How to I change it back to "Interlaced"?
    1. Unit power must be on. 2. Hold [STOP] & [DUBBING>DVD] ON THE UNIT for over 5 seconds. 3. The setting will return to interlace.
  • How do I reset the DVD Recorder?
    1. Unit power must be ON and unit must be in STOP mode. 2. Press and hold [CH UP] and [CH DOWN] ON THE UNIT for over five seconds. The unit will turn off. 3. Press [DVD POWER] to turn the unit on.
  • How do I reset my Blu-ray Player or DVD Recorder?
    1. Unit power must be ON and unit must be in STOP mode. 2. Press and hold [CH UP] and [CH DOWN] ON THE UNIT for over five seconds. The unit will turn off. 3. Press [DVD POWER] to turn the unit on.
  • How do I Lock/Unlock this product?
    1. Unit power must be on. 2. Hold [STOP] & [POWER] ON THE UNIT together for over 5 seconds. 3. "UNLOCKED" will appear on the OSD.
  • How can I reset the ratings password on this product?
    1. Product must be on. 2. Press [OPEN/CLOSE] to open tray. 3. NOTE: If unit has a Hard Drive, press [DVD] on unit. 4. Press and hold [|<>/>>|] (Forward Skip) ON THE UNIT for over 5 seconds. The ratings password setting will return to default setting ("8").
  • How can I register for the warranty of my product?
    You may register your products online by clicking here. It is not necessary to submit this form in order to effectuate the limited warranty. As long as there is a copy of the receipt, your product warranty begins from the date of purchase.
  • How can I cancel a timer recording on the product?
    1. Product must be on. 2. Press [STOP] then [ENTER] on the remote within 5 seconds. -OR- 1. Press and hold [STOP] ON THE product for over 3 seconds.
  • How am I able to make sure that my other products play the discs that were recorded on this player?
    Use the compatible discs and finalize them to ensure the maximum capability.
  • Can I connect to my network and stream movies or videos on my DVD Player?
    No, none of our standard DVD Players support network streaming.
  • Am I able to playback a DVD from another Region other than Region 1?
    No, on this device you are unable to playback a DVD from other Region.
  • Am I able to play a Blu-ray or DVD disc from another country?
    No, the player will only play discs that are Region 1 or All.
