Reviews

DMP-BDT220 is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from WiFi issues Only problem I've had, and its a near dealbreaker, is the poor streaming quality. If I can get the player to connect to my 5GHz network, and it fails about 30% of the time, HD picture quality isn't guaranteed. The stream will hang, skip, or look like a videotape about 25% of the time. I have no problem streaming on my computer, tablet, or phone on the same network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant The only issues I've had were from bad disks from Blockbuster Online. Can't expect this player to play a disk that looks like someone ran a disk sander over it, or one that is cracked from center to edge. It has a suitable selection of apps (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, two weather channels, Youtube, etc.). It plays well, sounds great. It doesn't make toast.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Picture goes DIm Why am I the only one who has the problem of the picture going DIM every 20 minutes. I have the screen saver turned off but I have to click enter every 20 minutes to keep the picture looking good! This is my only complaint, but I will not buy another Panasonic product unless this gets fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dmt-bdt220 For the price paid, this machine does all that I've asked it to do. It also has many features built in that I have not got to yet. Blu-ray picture quality is excellent and DVD upscaling is as good as you'll find on any budget model. Good picture options control.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from too sensitive Slow and rather confusing interface, no top menu button by which one can easily reach the DVD's menu, and, worst of all, its playback is too sensitive. Will not play DVDs tha are admittedly scratched rather badly but that my MacBook will play without incident. Need to build in greater tolerances.

FAQs
  • What do I do if the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • What should I do if my Blu-ray player freezes or locks-up?
If your Blu-ray player is not responding then do as follows:

    1. Unplug all cables and USB devices from the player.
    2. Unplug the power, wait about 30 seconds then reconnect.

We recommend connecting the player (wired) to your network and attempt updating its Firmware again.
  • What can I do if I am have difficulties accessing Netflix?
For Netflix related problems please do the following:

    1. Connect your player to your Wired / Wireless network.
    2. Check to ensure that your player is set to your current "Time Zone". The wrong "Time Zone" may cause connectivity issues. To check the Time Zone, go to "Setup" -> "Player Settings" -> "Network" -> "Network Settings" -> "Network Service Settings" -> "Time Zone".
    3. Click the [Netflix] button on your players remote to launch the Netflix application. If Netflix does not load what is the error message displayed?
    4. If you experience an error in connection do the following: "Setup" -> "Player Settings" -> "Network" -> "Network Settings" -> "IP Address/DNS Settings" -> "DNS Auto Configuration". Change this setting from "On" to "Off" then change your "Primary DNS" to 8.8.8.8 and your "Secondary DNS" to 8.8.4.4.
    5. Check to see if other Apps are able to be accessed. If other Apps can be accessed and Netflix is the only App not loading, this may be a Netflix issue.
  • How do I activate my Netflix account?
Start by pressing the Netflix button on your remote or select the App showing on screen. If you do not already have an existing Netflix account you'll see an option on Netflix screen offering a free month. "Start your Free Month" should already be highlighted. Navigate to the form and Click [OK] and fill out the information as required on the screen.
