DMP-BD79 is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lack of Amazon VOD I too bought this player with the intention of using Amazon Video On Demand (VOD). This streaming service is not available still as of 3/4/14. What is the delay? I would like to know how long the logo for Amazon has been on the Panasonic product page with the "coming soon" qualification. I have multiple Panasonic products (2 Plasma TVs and 3 Bluray players). I have always been satisfied with their products and happily recommend them to my friends. This issue has disappointed me to the point I will go elsewhere when I have electronic needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Feature Write-up I can't really speak to the quality as it did not meet expectations so I am returning it immediately. It did seem easy to set up as far as I got. I saw the logo for Amazon Video on Demand and the words Amazon Video on Demand compatible on this website. So, I bought the device. I was checking everything out on my cell at the store to see if it had the service I wanted. Got home and realized there was a teeny-tiny little asterisk and teeny-tiny little fine print underneath the much larger Amazon Video on Demand image that says "coming soon." Returning immediately. Please do not advertise a feature that is not yet available, unless the "coming soon" is at least as prominent on the page as the logo for the service. That is deceptive.

FAQs
  • What do I do in the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • What should I do if my Blu-ray player freezes or locks-up?
If your Blu-ray player is not responding then do as follows:

    1. Unplug all cables and USB devices from the player.
    2. Unplug the power, wait about 30 seconds then reconnect.

We recommend connecting the player (wired) to your network and attempt updating its Firmware again.
  • Why is a "No Read" error message appearing on my players display?

Ensure that the surface of the disc is not dirty, scratched or smudged, or try another disc and see what happens. If the product is unable to play all discs, then it will require servicing.

If you elect to have your Blu-ray Player, DVD Recorder or Home Theater System serviced, please contact Panasonic via email before sending your unit in at panacare@us.panasonic.com. Be sure and provide the model number of your player and a description of what is wrong with the unit. This condition is usually a repair issue and depending on the units age it may or may not be possible due to parts availability.

If you decide to have your player serviced:

The remote control and main unit are using different codes. On the remote control, press and hold [OPTION] and the following button at the same time for more than 5 seconds depending on the indication SET 1: [G], SET 2: [B], SET 3: [Y].

    -OR-
