DMP-BD30K is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A surprisingly Great find! DMP-BD30K The 1080 Up-scaling is extremely good! Even though this product was made several years ago, Panasonic is still producing firmware Updates for this model allowing it to play any Blu-Ray on the market in 2017! This Unit will play Dual-Layer BD-RE XL Discs even! Even most of the new players do not support these discs! I also was successfully able to play Dual Layer DVD+R's which I have only been able to get computer's with certain Drives to Play prior to finding this Player. The only drawback I have found so far is you can ONLY update the firmware by burning it to a CD-R! Despite it supporting an SDCard, and every Re-Writable, One time Writable Media I have thrown at it. I'm not sure but I believe it will even play video or audio files on A CD-RW, but alas it will only read firmware from a CD-R though thankfully you do not have to close the disc(where no further writing is possible), and it does support a multi-session ISO9660/Jouliette CD-R. Maybe, Panasonic will be kind enough to address this issue. Usually I don't have to read the manual to figure out even the most obscure/difficult features on Either an OS or 99% of all electronics I've come across, but do yourself a favor and read the manuals to this player. Oh and the remote control also controls advanced functions of my brand new 4K UHD smarttv by a major manufacturer though they were a minority manufacturer back when this player was manufactured. I still can not believe it outperforms most of the high-end players that have been released recently! And who needs a Smart Wi-Fi 1080p Blu-Ray Player when most TV's have those features anyway? If they took this model, put a 4K up-scaling processor in it, added a USB 3.0 Port(where everyone else is still using USB 2.0 on the high-end Players they put out!) put a pass through decoder for Dolby ATmos, and then re-released it, I'm positive it would outperform the Top 3 Manufacturer's High-End Expensive models for a fraction of the cost! This thing has not malfunctioned once even without Air Conditioning in over 120 Degrees F! Not many cell phones can handle or accomplish that at Cool Temperatures! Oh I don't write positive reviews but maybe one other time in the last 20 Years! For years I avoided Panasonic due to very bad durability/quality in the 80's. This product wowed me!

  • What do I do in the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • What should I do if my Blu-ray player freezes or locks-up?
If your Blu-ray player is not responding then do as follows:

    1. Unplug all cables and USB devices from the player.
    2. Unplug the power, wait about 30 seconds then reconnect.

We recommend connecting the player (wired) to your network and attempt updating its Firmware again.
  • Why is a "No Read" error message appearing on my players display?

Ensure that the surface of the disc is not dirty, scratched or smudged, or try another disc and see what happens. If the product is unable to play all discs, then it will require servicing.
