DMC-ZS45K is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lumix keeps getting better I've owned about 4 different Panasonic Lumix cameras over the last 10 years and they keep getting better...optical stabilization, zoom power & low light performance. I went to a Christmas festival last night & the function which takes multiple quick snaps & combines them into a single picture was AMAZING. Most of the pix were in sharp focus & the wildly varying light levels showed up VERY balanced! I like my more expensive Lumix which goes up to 30x but this is lighter & more versatile. The feature which is included to help selfies, the flip-up viewing screen, has come in VERY useful in shooting when part way up or over....from the hip...and overhead for crowds. The Wink feature works OK but you have to set it for Wink...for EACH selfie you want to trigger (read the manual). I didn't try it with a selfie pole but it worked fine at arm's length.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A selfie cam that don't have a remote shutter I was fascinated seeing this camera with a selfie stick, and bought it home. Soon I found out that my only option is to use the timer, very disappointing that each selfie I took, I had to bring the cam back, press the button and wait. There is no 3.5mm jack or bluetooth available. Wifi works, but make sure your other hand is free to hold your smart phone, and that eats up the phone's battery. The wink option..... I winked like 100 times (I know it is off on default, and I switched it on)..... it just doesn't work. Flash is not strong enough if you are not taking a selfie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Camera I own an SLR and often take my Panasonic ZS45 instead. I am very happy with all of the things that this camera can do. I have bought one for my son and his wife and recently recommended one to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many feature s I have many digital cameras and find this substantial and so easy to use . I love the ability to creatively enhance photos in the camera and I like vivid jump out at you, so the expressive choice is one I use the most. Its real nice to get selfies and get close to special people so they can be part of the pic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great zoom and features. I also had the DMC-ZS3 and loved the zoom feature. I can't believe the reach and features on cameras these days! 20X zoom and wifi support! This camera is slim and takes great pics!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to believe it is a point and shoot I bought the camera primarily for the telephoto capability. I enjoy wildlife and being able to zoom in really helps capture the moment. The photos are sharp and full color at full zoom. My friend's can not believe the photos are from a point and shoot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome travel camera! We needed a travel camera for vacations that weighed less than a DSLR. We have been very happy with this camera. Within a couple of months we had a lens failure. We sent it in to Panasonic under warranty and they replaced the lens for us. We have not had a problem since. We particularly like the long zoom, the through window feature, mini-mode videos, and the low light options for either multiple exposures or slow shutter speed. We have been very pleased and plan to replace it with the latest generation of this model the next time we need to buy a camera.

  • How do I install firmware in my camera using an SD card?
Digital Still Camera Firmware Update Guide.

    1) Preparation before attempting the update.

    A. Make sure the camera's battery is completely charged. If the battery is not completely charged the firmware update will not begin. Format the SD memory card in the camera, then take a couple of pictures.
    B. Turn off the camera.

    2) Copying the Firmware to your memory card.
    A. Download the latest firmware update for your model by clicking on the "Download Ver. X.X " link to a location on your computer (we recommend the "Desktop").
    B. If your computer has a media reader, please insert your formatted SD Card from your camera.
    C. Open the zipped firmware file that you downloaded to the desktop.

    D. For"PC" users, locate your SD Card by clicking on, or opening the"My Computer" or"Computer" on your desktop or your"Start" menu. For"Mac" users, can use"Finder" if the drive does not mount to your desktop.

E."Drag" to Copy and Paste" the .bin file from the opened folder to the drive with the SD Card showing in your"My Computer" window for"PC" users and"Finder" or"Drive" in Macs. This will copy the file to the card.

    F. If you choose to leave the SD Card in your camera, connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable. Turn the camera on and set it to"Playback" mode. Then select"PC" on the LCD screen. Drag the .bin file from the opened folder to the device that either says Panasonic or mass storage to complete the transfer.

G."SDXC cards, 32GB or larger, require special card readers. Depending on your PC, and the age of its operating system, you may not be able to directly write to such large cards. If your PC asks you to format the card, DO NOT, this is one indication that your system is not compatible with the newer larger memory cards. In this case a smaller card, 16GB or smaller should be used.

    3) Updating the camera's firmware.

    A. Turn the Camera off, insert the SD Card if you copied the firmware to the card while inserted into the computer.

    B. Turn the Camera power on and press the"Playback" button. The camera's LCD screen should now be showing a screen asking if you desire to"Update" the firmware. Highlight"Yes" and press the"Menu/Set" button.

    C. When the Camera has completed the firmware update it will turn itself off and then back on.

    D. This completes the update process.

    4) Confirming the update.

    A. Turn the camera's power back on.

    B. Set to"Playback" Mode.

    C. Choose the"Setup" menu.
