Rated 2 out of 5 by from Camera failed a month after warrantee expired I used the camera for 5 snorkeling trips. It worked well and took good video's and pictures. I never dove with it. It never got water in it. Then when I got home I got a SYSTEM ERROR (Zoom) when it boots. Am sending it back. Will see if they standby their name. I will not pay to repair it. If they don't fix it for free I will never again buy their product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not waterproof, even to 3' Had this camera for a bit over a year and it took decent photos until we went snorkeling. We were no deeper than 3' at any given time and the camera promptly died when we exited the water. One year warranty was expired and we flushed our money on the camera down the drain, as it were. We could have bought any point and shoot for much less money and had the same amount of waterproofing as this unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fall apart I purchased one of these cameras for use at work. I need a camera that occasionally takes a short fall, usually three feet or less, and one I can wipe down with disenfectant on a daily basis. Initially, the camera fell onto a hardwood floor from a height of two feet within the first month of ownership. The retaining plastic for the shutter release broke and the button came off. Under warranty, I sent it back and got a new one within two weeks. After nine months of use, the new camera also has the same problem. Although it may have gotten bumped, it has never fallen nor been abused. I have never had a problem with fogging or with leaking from being wiped down often. I have inadvertantly set the camera in a puddle of water without damage. Occasionally the flash does not work despite correct settings. This happens mostly on back lit objects. Great concept for a camera, just not quite sturdy enough for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Disappointed I wish more reviews of this camera had been available before I purchased it. Now, I have had the camera for just over 1 1/2 years, but with minimal use, it's only been in the water three times. The first trip out in the water was great and the camera stayed dry, I thought it was awesome. The second outing was during a snorkeling trip and the it shut down after about 20 minutes in the water, found out later that water had entered the camera. The third outing was even worse, water immediately filled the camera. The SD card that was in it is also junk now that salt water has ruined it. Before each outing I made sure that seals were clean and properly sealed. It's now out of warranty and manufacturer offered very little relief. I can pay to have it repaired, but why would I want to do that just in HOPES of correcting the leak. I have lost trust in this camera and will stay far away from it. I'm feeling very let down by a manufacturer that I had high opinions of before using this camera.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No support and later failed The camera turned off every time that I tried to download onto my computer. Product support was useless. They didn't have any information about my particular camera and kept making daft suggestions. I finally downloaded by putting the card into another camera and downloading from there. Fortunate that I had another camera. The camera failed after two years of use - maybe started leaking and self-destructed?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took to Cancun on 2-16-14 It was great not having to worry about getting the camera wet. Had a blast in the ocean jumping through waves with the camera. Was just as great at the swim up pool bar. Pictures came out great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mmy husband recieved the Panasonic TS20 Lumix for his birthday & took the camera on vacation. On day 2, the flash & lens both fogged up. There were no pictures taken under water. Since this was a brand new camera, we did not bring a back up. This is our first vacation in 5 years and with both of our daughters. This experience left us with no camera. We were very excited to have this camera and were very disappointed when it did not work. The camera was purchased less than 10 days ago & we will be returning it to the store.

  • How do I install firmware in my camera using an SD card?
    Digital Still Camera Firmware Update Guide.

    1) Preparation before attempting the update.

    A. Make sure the camera's battery is completely charged. If the battery is not completely charged the firmware update will not begin. Format the SD memory card in the camera, then take a couple of pictures.
    B. Turn off the camera.

    2) Copying the Firmware to your memory card.
    A. Download the latest firmware update for your model by clicking on the "Download Ver. X.X " link to a location on your computer (we recommend the "Desktop").
    B. If your computer has a media reader, please insert your formatted SD Card from your camera.
    C. Open the zipped firmware file that you downloaded to the desktop.

    D. For"PC" users, locate your SD Card by clicking on, or opening the"My Computer" or"Computer" on your desktop or your"Start" menu. For"Mac" users, can use"Finder" if the drive does not mount to your desktop.

    E."Drag" to Copy and Paste" the .bin file from the opened folder to the drive with the SD Card showing in your"My Computer" window for"PC" users and"Finder" or"Drive" in Macs. This will copy the file to the card.

    F. If you choose to leave the SD Card in your camera, connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable. Turn the camera on and set it to"Playback" mode. Then select"PC" on the LCD screen. Drag the .bin file from the opened folder to the device that either says Panasonic or mass storage to complete the transfer.

    G."SDXC cards, 32GB or larger, require special card readers. Depending on your PC, and the age of its operating system, you may not be able to directly write to such large cards. If your PC asks you to format the card, DO NOT, this is one indication that your system is not compatible with the newer larger memory cards. In this case a smaller card, 16GB or smaller should be used.

    3) Updating the camera's firmware.

    A. Turn the Camera off, insert the SD Card if you copied the firmware to the card while inserted into the computer.

    B. Turn the Camera power on and press the"Playback" button. The camera's LCD screen should now be showing a screen asking if you desire to"Update" the firmware. Highlight"Yes" and press the"Menu/Set" button.

    4) Confirming the update.

    A. Turn the camera's power back on.

  • My camera won't power on. What can I do?
    If you have a second battery, try it to see if you can power on the camera. If you dont have an extra battery and you're sure the battery you have is fully charged then the camera may need to be serviced.

  • Is water damage to my waterproof camera covered under warranty?
    The camera would need to be sent to our repair center for evaluation to determine if the warranty would apply.

  • How long should my battery last?
    CIPA figures which range from 300-400 photos (depending on the camera model). CIPA measurement methods use a very controlled method to measure battery life. The procedure takes a specific number of shots at a fixed interval, with a fixed ratio of flash photos. While this method provides a standardized measurement that can be used to compare two cameras, it's far from how the camera is actually used. Life expectancy can be affected by any of the following: If the flash is used, the total number of photos can decrease by 30-40% If the camera has GPS, you can expect up to a 50% reduction in battery life. If the customer has no immediate need for GPS disable the feature in the camera's menu options. While the battery saver feature will turn the LCD panel off after a preset time (and place the camera into sleep mode) the camera still draws some power from the battery. We suggestion, turn the camera after each shot. At social gatherings, try and minimize passing the camera around the table to have others look at the photos. The LCD panel consumes ~30% of the total power.

  • Why do I have spots on some of my photos?
    Spots can occur due to dust or dirt inside the lens, or when flash is used in a very dusty environment.

  • What size SD Card can I use in my camera?
    Cameras with a manufacturing date of 2006 or before can only use Standard SD Cards (2GB Max). Models manufactured from 2007 to 2009 can only use Standard SD Cards and SDHC Cards (32GB Max). Cameras manufactured 2010 and later are also compatible to the SDXC memory card format. While your camera?s owner?s manual may state a maximum size, that size was the largest that was available when your camera was manufactured. Any currently available SDXC card, which will eventually increase to maximum of 2 TB is compatible. As the maximum size increases, to 2 TB, we do not anticipate any need for firmware updates.

  • Why am I unable to view the photos on my camera after I have deleted some files from the SD card using the computer?
    It is not recommended that you delete or modify any photos on your SD memory card using your PC if you plan to move them back to the camera. Doing so can damage the file allocation table and your camera will not be able to read the files. You should immediately copy the remaining photos from your SD card to your PC. After doing so, using your camera, reformat the SD card.

  • What should I do to correct a "System Error Zoom", "System Error Lens", or "System Error Focus" message on my camera?
    We recommend you try removing the battery from the unit for approximately 60 seconds and reinstall the battery. If you still receive the "System Error *****" message you will want to consider having the camera serviced.
