Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like this!! I am Japanese, I have its Japanese version "DMC-FX77”, I think the only difference is the language on the display, mine is with Japanese language. I happened to view this website, and I wonder why nobody ever put a comment for such a nice camera, so I think I can write a review for this (Please forgive me for my poor English). The color, its white color is beautiful, I think the color is a bit like ivory with pearl finish. I really like this camera and this model actually has been rated quite high in one of the Japanese evaluation website for many kinds of products or service. I introduce you some evaluations from the website for example. I totally agree with them, and "Beauty Retouch Mode" is also very convenient for the ladies, I think. I think the only problem is a power of the battery as one of them says, so I suggest you to prepare spare battery if you use it for travel, but I think it's no problem for the daily use. A) I take pictures everyday (with a camera), I only use compact digital camera because of the easiness to carry. I bought this "Panasonic" model for the first time feeling it attractive for its wide lens (24mm Ultra-Wide-Angle Leica Lens). The LCD display is also wide and beautiful. The response of touch panel is also good, we can also take a picture by only touching the display if you like, it's very easy because the camera automatically focus on the pint where you touch the display (Touch-control Shooting). The focus is rapid, when taking pictures of my children, it surely chases the moving of them. I am really surprised of its rapidity because I felt the time lug with my previous camera in the same occasion. The movie taken with this camera, I'm content with its picture quality, it is enough for taking pictures with compact digital camera. This is very nice model in the category of compact digital camera, such a light weight, small sized with fine functions and specification. I think the only problem is that it’s a bit difficult to get used to the icons in the beginning, but I think it's no longer the problem once you get used to it. If you really seek the quality of the picture or functions, you probably choose compact system camera with zoom lens, but I don't need such models for taking pictures everyday. I don't understand why those who can't use the functions of those models properly want to have compact system cameras with zoom lens, because this model's performance is amazing though it's a compact digital camera. I am very content with buying this camera, after sometime ago. B) (Design) I think the design is good with the quality of the materials, and the thickness itself is no problem, only the dimension on the catalog became a bit thicker than the similar models of other manufacturers because around the area of its lens is a bit thicker than the rest part of the camera. (Quality of the picture) I think 1.21 mega pixels is enough. As the number of the pixels gets larger, file size increases and it gets more hard to back up the data. I think 1 mega pixel is already fine. (Operation) In case of Panasonic, it's easy to use because the power switch is slide type. The button for taking movies, the button for zooming, they are not icons but mechanical type, it's also good to make it easy. (Battery) It doesn't last long, makes me feel stress. (Size) The thickness 20mm class is good, thinking about the operation holding with hands. (Functions) I think it's fine considering about the easiness of the usage and the quality of the pictures. With its strong performance of trembling reduction system, I don't feel any special problem even when taking pictures in the night. (LCD) The large 3.5-inch LCD enables the operation without stress and convenient when viewing the pictures taken. (Feeling of holding) With its strong performance of trembling reduction system, you don't have to "hold" the camera with intention. (General) Very strong performance of trembling reduction system and easiness of the usage put this camera's evaluation high.
