Panasonic utilizes the blinking light as a form of self-diagnostics, similar to the "check engine" light in your car. If you've ever experienced that, you know that a check engine light could indicate anything from a loose gas cap to something that may require more attention. Panasonic uses the number of times the light blinks, to aid the technician in trouble-shooting the problem. The blinking light helps the technician to isolate and diagnose the issue. This in turn speeds up the repair process if repair is needed, helps keep parts costs down, and helps both you and the servicer by allowing the technician to complete a repair in one trip in many cases.

To cycle through the VIERA's inputs, press the INPUT button on the remote. You can then use the navigation buttons to select the correct Video input or press the corresponding number button next to the desired Video input.

To remove the black bars from the left and right hand side, press the FORMAT button on the remote. The options available to remove the vertical bars are H-Fill, Just, and Zoom.
