When I purchased my camera the largest SD card was 2 GB. Can I use larger SDHC cards or the recently announced SDXC cards that will be available up to 2 TB in size?

Unfortunately not. The transition from SD to SDHC, and from SDHC to SDXC also required some hardware redesigns.Cameras that are compatible with SDHC will have the SDHC logo on the camera body.2010 models compatible with SDXC cards will have the SDXC logo on the camera body.More info on the various types of SD cards can be found at http://www.sdcard.org/home/

How do I  update the firmware in my camera?

Each firmware file comes with installation instructions to assist you through the process. The firmware downloads can be found in our "Support" section and by clicking on the "Drivers& Downloads" tab.

How do I transfer files to a 64 bit computer?

Transferring file to a 64 bit or a 32 bit computer system is identical with drag and drop.

How should the camera be stored when it is not in use?

The camera should be stored away from direct sunlight and heat. Temperature range should not exceed 40 Celsius to 104 Fahrenheit. If the camera is stored improperly, it will degrade your waterproof performance.

How long can the camera be underwater?

60 minutes continuously at a max depth of 10ft.

What steps are needed after using the camera in the water?

The following steps should be taken after using the camera in the water: 1. Rinse the camera with fresh water (tap water), and then let it soak in the container of fresh water for 10 minutes. 2. Dry the camera within 60 minutes using lint free cloth. 3. Place the camera vertically on dry cloth for 10 minutes.

Can I record audio underwater?

How do I use the camera in and around water?

The following guidelines should be followed when using the camera in and around water: - Do not dive in the water while holding the camera. - Do not use the camera where strong water splashes can occur (e.g. waterfall and whitewater). - Do not use the camera where water temperature can exceed 104 degrees Fahrenheit (e,g, hot tubs and spas).

How often should the seals on the camera be replaced?

It is recommended to have the seals replaced once a year. This is due to normal usage and to maintain the integrity of the waterproof seal. Contact Panasonic's Service Center at 800-211-7262 for related cost.

When is it safe to open any cover on the camera?

Only open the SD Card / Battery or terminal cover door with dry hands. Do not open when the unit is in water, damp or dusty environment (e.g. the beach).

How do I prevent water leakage before taking the camera into the water?

To prevent water leakage, please follow these guidelines: - Check that no foreign objects such as sand, hair, dust or any liquid is present on or near the area of the door seals. - Use the provided brush to clean the areas on and around the seals. - Properly close the door securely by pressing it firmly until it clicks.
