Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill K Best electric shaver I've found!
I've tried them all, many other brands of electric rotary and foil shavers at a wide range of prices. This model is overall the best electric shaver I've found. It is powerful and effortlessly buzzes through my beard as long as I use it daily. If I let my beard get a bit longer it has some trouble with longer flat lying hairs. I can trim those with a rotary shaver, but some of those leave me with a burning sensation, skin irritation and don't shave nearly as close or as smooth as this model does. Nice trimmer too. Highly recommended!

It's a pretty nice gadget. Works well on all parts of the face except around the sidelocks. If you take it too close, you risk trimming the sidelock hair. I have to use the razor everytime to give the finishing touches. But this is not a bad product at all. Still saves me a lot of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Better than the ES-LA63
My previous shaver was the Panasonic ES-LA63 which looked very much like this one overall. I didn't think the one I just purchased would be any better than my previous one, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. Turns out it's quite a bit better. The shave is closer and just as before, no irritations after shaving. The construction is top notch, and all other positives from my previous shaver carried over to the new one - ergonomics, aesthetics/design, and speed of charging just to name a few.
The only recommendation I can make is to be able to shave while the electrical cord is plugged-in and/or charging. The reason is because when the internal battery eventually dies, you'd still be able to use the shaver. The manufacturer's decision not to enable this feature is probably due to safety concerns. There might be another reason.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Abe No hair left behind.
I bought this razor to replace my old shaver with the competing brand. I've been shaving using electric foil razors for about fifteen years. When my old shaver broke in its foil (everything else is great with it), I decided to buy a new one from Panasonic.
The first thing I noticed about LV65 was that it was much quitter. I though five blades are going to make significant noise. But it is quiet for that. During shaving, I felt very comfortable with the large smooth head. The razor traveled smoothly on my face and cleared the hair in one pass or two. It left my face smooth, as if shaven by a blade razor.
The time for a complete shave for me is about four minutes, almost half that of my old shaver.
It's also very easy to wash or dry clean it. I wish they had included a brush with it. I'm using the one from my old shaver.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and recommend it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Do yourself a favor and buy this razor!
The battery in my old Panasonic ES-8066 just died after about 17 years of faithful service. I wasn't looking forward to having to replace it because none of the electric razors currently on the market appealed to me. But I knew whatever I bought would be a Panasonic, because out of the many, many different brands of electric razors that I've purchased over the years, Panasonic was the only manufacturer to explain in the operator's manual that any electric razor will not give you a good shave immediately, and that you have to stick with it for a few weeks before noticing the full benefit. If only "Brown" (if you're German) or "Noelco" (if you're French) had bothered to tell me that 30 years ago! (Glad I read the review-writing tips before submitting - I was going to mention the actual company names.) I read all of the reviews here that said this particular model was the best razor on the market, and they are all absolutely, 100% true. I've been shaving for almost 40 years now, and the very first time I used this razor was the first time in all those years I had absolutely no skin irritation, burning, breakouts, etc. No stinging from just the hot water hitting my face and neck when I got in the shower right after shaving. The first totally painless shave I've had in my life - and with the automatic beard thickness sensor, it was at least as close as a brand new blade, if not closer. Go ahead and complain about the eye-wateringly high price - but first have a sit down and calculate how much you will have spent on blades in the 10+ years this thing will probably last. So, even at this price, it's a bargain to boot!

I purchased this razor to replaced my old Arc razor which was having problem changing. I think the battery is at the end of life and not worth to replace just the battery. I am very happy with my old and new Panasonic razor. It is nice and smooth and gives me a comfortable shave.

This is my second panasonic shaver, last one was an Arc 3, which I had for about 4 years. I bought the Arc 5 primarily because I wanted a new shaver and the Arc 3 was starting to degrade (battery life and closeness of shave). Although I could have just reordered a new blade for the Arc 3, like I said earlier, I wanted a new shaver. Well, I am happy I pulled the trigger on the Arc 5, it is quiet, the battery power is great (charge every 3 weeks) and it shaves really well (cut my shaving time by more than half). It's expensive, but worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mani The closest machine to Gillette razors
I was at first quite skeptical about buying this panasonic ES-LV65-S as I thought nothing come close to the actual razor blade. I was wrong. Although, Gillette Fusion razors, the product I have been using for years, still have an slight edge over the electric razors, however, this unit come extremely close. What makes it superior is the convenience of using it anywhere; in the shower, in front of the sink, while in the car going to work and travelling. Cleaning is easy too, just rinse it as instructed. Completely satisfied with the result.
