Quiet Operation at .25" Water Gauge
WhisperCeiling fans feature a totally enclosed condenser motor and a double-tapered, dolphin shaped bladed blower wheel to quietly move air. Since .1" w.g. is an unrealistic amount of static pressure when installed, our fans have been rated at .25" w.g., the industry standard for performance measurement for ASHRAE, ENERGY STAR, LEED for Homes, and HVI. Panasonic leads the way with incomparable sone levels at both .1" and .25" w.g.

Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years
This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. And, the fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust.

User-Friendly Installation
Detachable adaptors, firmly secured duct ends, adjustable mounting brackets (up to 26"), fan/motor units that detach easily from the housing and uncomplicated wiring all lend themselves to user-friendly installation. This model also features a double-hanger bar system for ideal positioning.

Energy Star Qualified for Energy Savings
Energy Star qualified products feature super-quiet operation and high CFM-to-Watt efficiency. The Energy Star program was created to help consumers identify products that can save them money and protect the environment by saving energy. As an Energy Star partner, all our fans are Energy Star qualified and labeled accordingly.

Tired of Cold Air Coming Through Your Ventilation Fan?
This Panasonic fan has a built-in damper to prevent backdraft, which helps to prevent outside air from coming through the fan. Loose fill or batt insulation can be placed directly over the fan housing to prevent heat from escaping.

Best basic fan available When you compare this basic fan with others found at the local chain stores you'd be a fool not to buy the Panasonic. I can't tell you how many of the "other" brand names I have bought in the past that ran loud or vibrated that have been replaced. The Panasonic is robustly built and is quiet and without vibration. It costs a little more money up front but when you consider the hassle of changing out other cheaply made bathroom fans its well worth the price. Panasonic also has other retrofit type fans (much more money) that can be installed in sections to allow for tight blind installations. I've never seen that type of engineering for a bathroom fan but it goes to show you that this is a well thought out commitment to design. Well done. November 30, 2014
Model FV-08VQ3 Interesting to read these reviews. I have this fan, model FV-08VQ3, in two bathrooms and it is not the quiet purr that I've been reading. It isn't loud either, but I can definitely hear it when it is running. I've had both fans for less than five years and one already needs to be replaced as it has stopped working. The electrician that installed the fans boasted that they are "top of the line", but I didn't think "top of the line" would have to be replaced in less than five years. March 5, 2013
Have installed several of these...they're great I am an electrician, and first installed the Panasonic when I helped a friend build his house in 2006. Installed 3 in his house, was very impressed-his are still just as quiet today. Have installed 8 more for family and friends (and myself) since then, and am so impressed each time at the quality of construction/materials. If you are doubtful, take another brand out of the box at a retailer and look at it/feel it. There's no comparison. Just change out the ducting to 4" and use a 2x4 instead of the brackets. INSTALLATION NOT FOR EXISTING CONSTRUCTION GREAT FAN, VERY QUITE. THIS FAN IS NOT VERY USER FRIENDLY INSTALLATION FOR EXISTING CONSTRUCTION. TO USE THE JOIST MOUNTING BRACKETS WOULD HAVE NECESSATED CUTTING A MUCH LARGER HOLE IN CEILING. HAD TO LEAVE THE JOIST HANGER OFF MY UNIT COMPLETELY. I INSTALLED ADDITIONAL SUPPORT IN ATTIC TO MOUNT FAN. October 25, 2011
