It replaces a 1.5 year old Panasonic 1.6 model which has the electrostatic dial (the dial was cool looking but a pain to use). This model's door closes and latches much easier than my previous model (hence better durability as you're not forcing it closed). The cyclonic wave technology seems too cook more evenly (especially in the middle of food). The sensor reheat feature seems to work much better in this model...very pleased :). Overall, after several weeks, this seems to be a great purchase. I've purchased Panasonic Microwaves for years and this is probably the best model I've owned. March 15, 2016

Rated 2 out of 5 by AJPeabody Has a fatal flaw My last Panasonic microwave lasted more than 25 years. This model had great features, so I bought it. It was extremely easy to use. The selection knob is brilliant. I loved this machine. BUT: After the warrantee expired, the door latch failed. It would not engage the internal safety switches, so the machine would not go on. Following instructions I found on the Internet, I opened the case and discovered, as many others had, that the flimsy sheet metal tab holding the microswitch module in place had bent slightly from repeated door action. I bent it back, and the machine worked a short time more. Then the metal bent again, and each bend made the next bend easier. I gave up after 2 repairs. This is a design flaw. The sheet metal holding the switches is very easy to bend. The switches are mounted so that closing the door stresses the sheet metal each time the door is used. It takes almost no design effort to either strengthen the support or add a small metal angle to the support so it can't bend. This flaw has been reported repeatedly. Not fixing it means no one will again buy a second Panasonic microwave. This is a shame, since everything else about this machine is clearly superior to the competitors. Please, Panasonic, do a small redesign! February 2, 2016

Stainless Steel was a must and the performance of this well designed product is exceptional . The cyclonic wave inverter technology evenly heats and the defrost cycle works great. Heats food very quickly and the defrost is much better than any over unit I have used. The dial on the user interface takes a bit to get used to but after a while I like it. My only small negative comment is on the Quick 30 sec feature. Why do I have to press START after choosing the Quick 30? Just go..!! -m December 9, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Newbie Exceeded Expectations I usually tend not to go for items that have all the bells and whistles because I find them intimidating. This microwave oven has proven me wrong. It's very easy to use and has great features that I had no idea I was missing. I love how evenly it heats things and it gives me peace of mind when I warm things up for my daughter. The included instruction booklet is very helpful in learning all the features as well. Overall, I'm more excited about this microwave than I normally care to admit. I've yet to take advantage of all the features, but look forward to testing them out (next on my list are the stand time and delayed start features). November 27, 2015

My family’s meals have to be ready in minutes and I have been struggling to find a microwave that cooks evenly. On my old microwave oven, I often burned half of my dish and the other half was still frozen leaving my me and my ravenous husband and son frustrated. When I saw that the Panasonic Cyclonic Wave Microwave had special inverter technology that cooks everything evenly, I knew I had to try it out. The sleek design is aesthetically pleasing and matches my stainless steel kitchen appliances quite nicely. The control panel is well thought out and easy to use. I love the child safety lock feature! My 4 year old is always exploring his boundaries and I do not want him to “accidentally” cook his face plastic food in the microwave. The child safety feature only disables the electronic components of the microwave. The door still opens and closes. There is a simple special button sequence that enables and disables this feature. The Cyclonic Wave Inverter Technology really delivers. I often heat veggie bacon in the microwave and it cooks each strip evenly, which is something I really struggled to achieve with my old microwave. I like that I can tailor the power level and cooking time to each dish, if desired, with the dial to choose different weight measurements and time amounts. Even the dishes that require low power and long cooking times still come out evenly cooked and tasting delicious. I tested out the sensor reheat and cooking features and found them extremely handy on homemade dishes like casseroles and whole plates of food. It’s easy to use with the sensor menu dial and there’s a handy sensor cook chart included in your instruction booklet to help with the calibration process. I often have to reheat my son’s dishes and the sensor feature really works well to calibrate and detect to each plate and evenly heat each item, which makes a very happy 4 year old and mom! The timing features are really handy and clever. Along with the standard kitchen timer, there’s a stand time feature which allows you to cook for a certain period of time and then pause for a set period of time and then resume. There’s also a great delay start feature which is handy when you’re timing your meals with other side dishes to make sure everything is ready at once. Overall, my family and I are extremely pleased with this microwave and look forward to future meals! October 30, 2015

It took 40+ years for the microwave oven to live up to the promises that ALL manufactures (Panasonic included) have been advertising for so many years. This unit cooks and heats the food evenly!!! You can put in a frozen TV Dinner and it is uniformly defrosted and cooked. No stirring required! GONE is the frozen block in the center as the outside area is bubbling and popping and splattering debris everywhere. The Cyclonic Wave method used really works and is absolutely worth the extra cost Panasonic is charging for this unit compared to their other models and ones from other manufacturers. I purchased this unit for use at my work. I hope that sales will be sufficient enough for Panasonic to continue manufacturing this Cyclonic Wave series of ovens so I can soon replace the Panasonic microwave oven I have at home. Panasonic should make an over the range model as well. By the way, I never write reviews. This quality unit was worthy of the effort to write one. October 26, 2015
