Panasonic has evolved the Turbo Defrost feature, allowing you to defrost foods even faster than the previous Panasonic Auto Defrost. Panasonic Inverter Turbo Defrost technology is an advanced microwave sequencing system using the Inverter continuous-power delivery technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mfffffffffffff What a Surprise! This was a replacement for a 15-year-old 700 Watt microwave. What a difference! First place, it's blazingly fast by comparison. But there are some features that are even more important - for example the defrost feature actually defrosts foods - i.e., doesn't COOK them. The popcorn feature actually pops the popcorn - doesn't leave 1/4 of it un-popped. And most importantly, it cooks evenly - no hot spots and no cold spots. The only thing I miss that the old microwave had was the capability to simply press the "3" button, for example, to start a 3-minute full-power session. And not that it's terribly complicated on the Panasonic, but just not quite as convenient. December 22, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by jeanna929 Panasonic's Genius Line of Counter-top Microwaves This is the 2nd microwave I've purchased that was branded by Panasonic. My previous microwave was also a 'Genius, with Inverter Technology', Model NN-T945SFX. Hands down, the best microwave I have ever owned. If it wasn't for the door latch issues, I'd still be using it. I have read other reviews on my previous model and have found that it was a common problem and decided to research other brands. I researched them all! Reading product reviews and more product reviews. This is what a smart shopper does. After a few weeks of what I concluded to be a diligent effort in product research, I have found that every microwave manufacturer out there has some negative issue with their product that consumers are reviewing about . I felt confident in coming back to Panasonic for my next microwave purchase. My new full size 1.2 cubic ft microwave is considerably smaller than my last Panasonic microwave, but still has the Inverter technology that I now refuse to live without. Yup! Call me spoiled but once you have become accustom a microwave that heats your food with 'Inverter Heating Technology', you never go back. The Inverter technology heats food using reduced power levels. Food is heated or re-heated more evenly and faster. I've actually forgotten what its like to have my food still cold or even frozen in the middle. The features on this model are so easy to use given its advanced technology. All wrapped up in a sleek black finish. I recommend this product. I own this product! Thanks for taking the time to read my review of the Panasonic NN-SD654B Countertop Microwave. November 26, 2014
