Panasonic has succeeded in evolving the Turbo Defrost™, which allows you to defrost foods even faster than previous Panasonic Auto Defrost. Panasonic inverter Turbo Defrost technology is ad advanced microwave sequencing system using the inverter continuous-power delivery feature.

4-in-1 cooking with Convection/Microwave Combination

Broil food to perfection with the convection setting, which seals in juices and flavors. Bake and brown cakes, pies and pizzas, courtesy of the circulating, heated air, or get the best of both worlds using the combination option to benefit from the speed of the microwave and the evenness of convection cooking.

Menu Action Screen (multi-lingual)

The Menu Action Screen is like having a chef to assist you in the kitchen. It scrolls step-by-step cooking instructions across the display in a choice of English, Spanish or French.

One-Touch Genius Sensor Cook and Reheat

The Genius Prestige Sensor adjusts power levels and calculates cooking and reheating times automatically for various food types

Keep Warm Feature

A pulsing delivery of very low microwave power keeps food temperatures at a constant level without overcooking. So, foods like stew, gravy and desserts remain warm in the oven until ready to serve.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 so far , so good I've only had this oven for 2 weeks and so far, so good. Of course, you never know exactly what you are getting until you use it, but there are a few things I probably should have researched more before I purchased this. For example, I was not aware that on the "bake" cycle, the item being baked still spins. This is a problem because I assumed I would be able to place a baking pan in the oven and it would just bake, as in a conventional oven (even though of course this is a convection oven). But, because the tray spins, you have to be careful of the size, as it will hit the sides of the interior if it is too large. This limits the baking to only smaller size pans. Also, on the sensor reheat on the microwave setting, the food really gets only tepid warm. I would like it to be hotter when reheated. I haven't had the opportunity yet to do much else but use the microwave and that is just fine. Assuming I use the oven at some point, I will say it is probably worth the money spent. But, for just a microwave with limited convection baking use, I'd say it's pretty expensive. November 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great oven the only thing I don't like is the weight capacity but other then that it's a great product. November 2, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by a do-it-all oven/microwave I purchased this as a replacement for a earlier version. our old oven/microwave lasted well over 10 years and did a lot of baking during the holidays. I expect the same from this one. this one is a bit larger but the inside of this one doesn't have the side bars to support a baking pan and it instructions say to keep the microwave tray in the over so you can't use a large square or rectangular baking pan as it microwave tray spins even when baking! this isn't good and limits the size of the item you can bake. not sure why you need to keep microwave tray in is you are baking or broiling (I do understand if I am doing combination cooking). our old oven didn't have this issue with the side bars and included baking pan that fix the oven. but otherwise very good, a wonderful purchase. Rated 5 out of 5 by Replacement This is my second purchase of an NN-989. After 4 years, the first one I owned, had a major malfunction. Initially tried replacing the original, however, there were none available anywhere in the USA, so I ended up purchasing another brand which was not as user friendly. As soon as the NN-989 became available again I made the purchase. Great oven! Ease of use is the key reason why I to have this Convection Microwave oven and no other. May 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it!!! Have only had my microwave/convection oven for a month, so far so good. My favorite features are the Sensor Reheat, Popcorn & Quick minute. The bagged popcorn comes out perfect, 3.5 for the larger bag. I also like the inverter defrost, sometimes you have to guess at the weight but it does a very good job of defrosting quickly without cooking. My last Panasonic micro/conv, oven lasted 29 years, before it gave up the ghost. This is a replacement for that one, 29 year later upgrade from my original. If this one lasts half as long as the other one, I will be pleased. Will reserve more judgment for later. April 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by good micorwave this is a nice puchase. a little more than i expected to pau but it gets the job done. family loves it March 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pleasantly surprised This is a successor model to our previous Panasonic convection microwave. Changes in technology since we purchased the original unit had us concerned about our ability to use it effectively, but we decided to stay with Panasonic and quickly discovered it was a wise choice. It is well constructed, works very well, reliable time, temperature and ancillary data, automatic functions are perfect and the unit is easier to use than our previous one. July 30, 2014
