Rated 5 out of 5 by David Good Rice Cooker SR-G10G
This is the fist time I bought rice cooker in US. Panasonic provides direct sales on internet is a very good market strategy for home consumers. The on-line staff helped me to answer the features & spec. for cookers which enable me to choose the right cooker. The inner pot of this model is specific made for heavy duty use which is my first choice. The cooked rice is soft and the clean-up is not difficult.

Rated 1 out of 5 by keiko Terrible rice coker
Purchased brand new. Very disappointed with quality of cooked rice. Bottom of pot is burnt and very hard to clean since rice is very stuck on the bottom. Top half of pot, the rice turned out fine, but bottom half of pot the rice is really mushy. Terrible. Will tell all my friends about poor quality. I have used rice cookers for over 40 years and have NEVER come across one with such poor resuts! Tried 4 different times using less water. Results still of poor quality. Need to purchase another rice cooker and it definitely will NOT be a Panasonic Brand!

Seems that this device does not switch over from "cook" to "warm" as the manual claims:
"6. When the rice is cooked, the switch will move up to the keep warm, and the light indicating 'WARM' will be on instead. This shows that the warming function is working." In my first use, after an hour, the COOK never switched to WARM.
I used 2 cups of brown basmati rice, with the water up to 3 cups. The rice, however, was FANTASTIC. Did leave a little stuck to the bottom of the pan, which I had to soak off to clean.
Instructions aren't clear as to the use of "Scales by graduations on the Pan". Seems like instructions suggest that you're meant to fill up the level WITH THE RICE IN THE POT. Of course, you've got to fiddle around with the rice/water ratio.
(And brown basmati rice was/is a revelation, though it takes about twice as long to cook. My doc. told me to go on a "low-fat vegan diet," otherwise, I'd have never tried it.)
Another quibble: I thought there would be a steamer thing included--some kind of ring with a perforated drain/bottom and a little bail-type handle to lift up the steamer.
But there was no such device included. And it doesn't seem to be available as a separately purchasable "attachment". Bummer.
In the G06G, there was included a nylon or plastic flat spoon; not included in the G10G. Seems a little "random" from a marketing/packaging standpoint (you'd think as you bought more highly-priced/more-featured product,, you'd get more accessories along with the features. Wassupwidat!??
