Rated 3 out of 5 by Handset Charger PNLC1029ZS Panasonic my go to for all electronics, phones to TVs for 30 years, this is the first quality fail. Bought system in 1/2014, first base replaced under warranty in about 3-4 months, now in 6/2015 two more have failed and a third is showing early failure symptoms so I just ordered 3 replacements. In final stage failure they pretty much go "dark" but before that they go "squirrely" , demanding you insert batteries, clicking off/on etc. In that stage the base will discharge a fully charged handset from another base(the replaced one) overnight, whereas a fully charged handset laid on the desk by the base retains a full charge overnight. I also have a KX-TGE275 system a bit over one year old which has a 4 of the outboard bases working normally. I thought about buying the chargers from that system but even though the contacts appear to be similar enough, the KX-TGE275 charger is rated for substantially less current than the bases for the older KX-TG273 (PNLC1029 base). Rated 5 out of 5 why did I have to replace this I bought the Panasonic phone system a year or so ago. For some reason one of the phone bases would not charge the phone so I finally replaced it. It is working well now. May 29, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by charger base problems We purchased the phone (base unit plus 4) about 1.5 years ago. At about 4 months, first base charger failed. Then second one failed after the first year. I ordered 2 units as replacements and while waiting for delivery 3rd unit failed. Now the final one of the original 4 has failed. I like the phone system, works well, but base unit chargers are not up to par. Need to have at least 3 working phones. Would prefer not to have to keep moving the phones around to recharge and inspect the phone prior to answering to make sure conversation will not be cut off. May 29, 2015
