Easy, Do-it-Yourself Setup
Simply place or affix the lightweight, wall-mountable sensors where needed and extend the sensor probe to touch the floor or other surface. With the touch of a button, the sensor syncs automatically via WiFi to the hub unit.* Up to 50 sensors per hub unit can be added and synced to the system.
Panasonic leak sensors are ideal for monitoring basements and crawl spaces, under sinks, near washing machines, water heaters, steam boilers, dishwashers, toilets, water softeners and more. And they can be armed and disarmed at any time from inside the home or remotely from your smartphone/tablet.
*The system hub (KX-HNB600) is required for sensors and other system components.

I bought the water sensor as an add on to the monitoring system. I installed it next to a water heater that is installed on the living room level. Given what I've read about water heaters failing without warning or slow leaking for months without people knowing about it, this will be cheap insurance against a costly floor replacement.
