The KX-MB2030 boasts a highly reliable print engine with an easy open clam shell design which makes consumable replacement and the removal of the occasional paper jam extremely easy. In addition, the KX-MB2030 includes a 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet interface for convenient device sharing in multi-user office environments, not to mention the ability to remotely manage and configure the device using a standard internet browser.

    High Speed, Professional-Quality Laser Printing

    The KX-MB2030 is capable of outputting up to 24 professional quality documents per minute at 600 x 600 DPI1. The KX-MB2030 includes a Windows Based GDI printer driver which has been optimized for maximum printing productivity. The advanced printing features of the GDI printer driver include the ability to add watermarks to printed documents, print or create document Overlays, merge up to 16 documents on a single sheet of paper, or enlarge your document to a wall size poster.

    PC & Network Document Scanner

    The KX-MB2030 is able to scan documents directly to a PC, E-mail, Shared Network folder or FTP server, using the built-in 20 sheet automatic document feeder or the flatbed scanner. Scanned documents can be saved as a PDF,, TIFF or BMP file. The KX-MB2030 is capable of scanning document in full color with resolutions up to 19,200 x 19,200 dpi (Interpolated).

    Convenient Desktop Copier

    The KX-MB2030 can also be used a desktop copy machine, utilizing the standard 20 sheet automatic document feeder or document flatbed. The KX-MB2030 offers many convenient copy features, such as Image Repeat, N in 1 Copy, Separate N in 1 Copy, Quick ID Copy and Proof Copy.

    High Speed Super G3 Fax

    The high speed 33.6 kbps modem built into the Panasonic KX-MB2030 is designed for super fast and efficient document transmissions (up to 4 seconds per page1). With the Ethernet interface standard on the KX-MB2030, it can also be used as a PC fax, which allows you to fax documents directly from a PC without having to print them out; or you can take advantage of the built in Fax Preview Function which stores all incoming fax documents in the devices memory and made viewable from a standard internet browser. The Fax Preview feature will also let you save, delete or print documents which have been received, using a standard internet browser remotely.

    Panasonic Multifunction Station Suite Software

    The KX-MB2030 comes bundled with the Panasonic Multifunction Station Suite Software, which includes all the software and utilities for the device. The bundled software suite includes Panasonic's Multi-function viewer software which allows you to view scanned documents, remotely adjust the device configuration with the Remote control utility, and the Device Manager Application which provides a real time view of the devices current state.

    Advanced Document Management

    The KX-MB2030 features Panasonic's newest software application, the Panasonic Easy Print Utility. This intuitive application allows you to merge multiple documents into a single print job, which can then be previewed from your computers monitor before actual printing, to ensure the document layout is correct without wasting paper and toner. In addition, the KX-MB2030 includes a copy of Readiris Pro 7, which will allow you to convert your digital documents into text editable file formats.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from At first, this printer was fairly easy to use. I use this in my office, and am able to print two-sided, just as long as I refill the paper correctly. It is a lot faster than other printers that I have owned. However, since day one this printer has left off an unfriendly stench after printing, due to the toner. The scanner stopped working after the second time I used it. The printer is also very loud and noisy, making it somewhat difficult to focus while on the phone or dealing with customers. I've had two of these, this one and the one similar to this but without the fax, and use them on an everyday basis. One problem that I've had with both of them is around a year of use, they seem to not print on one side of the page. For instance, I'll have a normal sheet of paper printed, however there will be a thick white line down the middle or side of the paper. The printer will say to Replace the Drum, however replacing the drum is very expensive and has proven quite useless after a few months. This printer is okay in price and easy to use, however it is not meant for a long-term investment, giving way after a year of use.

    • What should I do if I cannot send a fax or have no dial tone?
      1. Check that power cord is plugged into a working outlet and that it is also secure on the back of the unit.
      2. Check if telephone line cord connections are secure from the wall jack and is also connected to the"EXT" jack on the product instead of the "LINE" jack.
      3. Try a different phone cord the problem may be with the phone cord.
      4. Unplug the fax machine and install a phone in its place. If the phone has a dial tone then it's a problem with the fax. If the phone doesn't have dial tone but is working on the other jack then there could be a problem with the jack where the fax is currently plugged in to.
      5. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.
      6. If possible, move the unit to a different location.
    • Can I use a legal size paper to print a document from the computer?
      If you would like to print from the computer using legal size paper, then you would be using the manual input tray located at the back of your unit. Press [#] [3] [8] [1] [3] to change the paper size to LEGAL. Press [SET] button to save the setting then [MENU] to exit.
    • Can I use a toner cartridge purchased from UK and install it in my machine which was purchased in the U.S.?
      Consumable items produced by other countries may not work when use for a US model. It may not fit or recognize by the machine.
    • Can I use the fax machine to print an envelope?
      This unit does not support printing envelopes.
    • How can I connect my fax to a home phone line with an answering machine?
      To ensure both your answering machine and fax work hand in hand to receive messages and faxes, they must be connected to each other. The telephone line port from the answering machine that is normally plugged into the wall jack should be connected into the EXT port of the fax machine. Then set your answering machine to pick up on the 4th or lower ring count and the fax to 5 EXT TAM.
    • How can I save a scanned file to a folder?
      Before you scan a document, set the designated path to where the computer will save the scanned documents. Go to multi-function station, click on settings then click scan. It will automatically be saved to the designated path that you assign.
    • How can i scan multiple documents and save it as one file from the computer?
      If you would like to scan multiple documents and save it as one file, on the multi-function viewer, drag the last document that you scanned into the first scanned document. Do the same procedure then save it as one file, then save it on your desired format.
    • How can I scan multiple documents on my machine?
      To scan multiple documents you can use the ADF or automatic document feeder. Make sure to fan each document first then put them into the ADF face up. Press [SCAN] on the machine and it should scan each document one by one and then you can save the file accordingly. Please see your operating manual for other possible scanning options.
    • How can I set up the logo into my fax machine?
      If you would like to setup your logo, press [MENU] [#] [1] [0] [2] and [SET] button, enter the desired name or logo using the number keypad. Once you finished, press [SET] button then [MENU] to exit.
    • How do add/edit my fax number to be displayed on outgoing faxes?
      1. Press [MENU] [#] [1] [0] [3] then [SET]. You will see "NO.=" on the screen
      2. Enter your fax number, up to 20 digits
        NOTE:
        - To enter a "+", press [*]
        - To enter a space, press [#]
        - To enter a hyphen, press [FLASH]
        - To erase a number, press [STOP]

      Note: Before adjusting the volume, press the [FAX] if the light is OFF and that the unit is not in use.

      The default language is English:
      1. Press [Menu] [#] [1] [1] [0]
        • Press [1] to select "English"
        • Press [2] to select "Spanish"
      2. Press [Set] then press [Menu].
    • How do I connect my product to a Local Area Network?
      To connect the product via network, connect an Ethernet cable at the back of the machine where it is labeled as LAN. The connected Ethernet cable should be connecting the product and your router or hub. Once this is done install the Multi Function Software, please use the disk that came with the package. The installation instructions will guide you on how to install the software.
    • How do I get the IP address for my machine?
      The IP address to be used for your machine is automatically assigned by your router or hub. The IP address can also be assigned by your network administrator. Please contact your network administrator or support group for your router.
    • How do I put my fax machine's ringer OFF?
      1. Press the arrow down [▼] to select "RINGER OFF = OK?"
      2. Press [SET]
    • How do I remove a document/paper jammed?
      Note: Unplug the unit from the outlet.

      To remove a jammed document/paper, you will need to open the front cover and pull the paper towards you. You may also clean the feed roller with a lint free cloth that is damped with alcohol.

      For specific information please consult your operating manual.
    • How do I set the logo for my machine?
      1. Press [MENU] [#] [1] [0] [2] then [SET]. You will see "LOGO=" on the screen
      2. Enter your logo, up to 30 characters. Every key corresponds to a certain character
        Example: PANA Press [7] once then [2] once [6] twice [2] once
        NOTE: To enter a character that is located on the same dial key as the previously entered character, you must first press [►] to move the cursor to the next space
        To make corrections: Press [◄] or [►] to move the cursor to the incorrect character, and enter the correct character. You can also press [STOP] to delete the incorrect character left to the cursor
        Pressing [#] will change the character to upper-case or lower-case alternatively
      3. Press [SET] to save
      4. Press [MENU] to exit
    • How long does it take for the parts/accessories to be available?
      If the consumable parts that you need to purchase is backordered through Panasonic, you can check your local dealer or order it online.
    • Is my fax/printer capable to print colored documents/printouts?
      This machine cannot print colored, this model is Monochrome Laser Printer, meaning it only prints black.
    • Is the fax/printer machine compatible with mac operating system?

    • What does "CALL SERVICE 6" mean?
      If the display shows "CALL SERVICE 6", try to uninstall and reinstall the drum unit. If it didn't clear the error message remove the power cord for five seconds and reconnect it. Otherwise replace the drum unit.
    • What does call service 4 mean?
      If the display shows "CALL SERVICE 4" it means that the rotation of the fan has malfunctioned inside the machine. Remove the power cord for five seconds and reconnect it.
    • What is a "COMMUNICATION ERROR 43" mean?
      If the sending report or the journal report shows "COMMUNICATION ERROR 43" there could be a possible telephone line problem. Check if the phone line cord is connected securely in the back of the machine and the wall jack. If there's no problem with the connection, you can also try to send a fax to a different number. If it works sending to a different number, then it could be a problem on the other end. If you get the same error sending to all numbers then you may also try connecting the unit into a different wall jack or use a different telephone line cord for testing purposes.
    • What is an ocr software?
      The OCR software does not exist on our web site but it is bundled in the CD-ROM of KX-MB20xx series. The bundled OCR software is Readiris. So please uninstall Multi-Function Station and re-install CD-ROM by Easy Installation.

      You can send a fax to a maximum of 20 recipients once they have been programmed into the broadcast memory.

    • Why am I hearing a grinding noise when the product prints or while copying?
      If theres a loud grinding sound on the machine while it prints or copy, try to check if the sound is coming out when the drum is in the machine. if that's the case, try to replace the drum unit.
    • Why are there black lines on documents that are faxed or copied?
      The scanner glass may be dirty with debris such as "white out" or just plain dirt.
      1. Unplug the unit and locate the scanner glass
      2. Clean with dry cloth or if necessary, use a damped cloth with rubbing alcohol to help remove dirt
      3. Dry thoroughly before replugging the unit
    • Why are there smudges or streaks on all the print outs made by the unit?
      Streaks, smudges or markings on all print outs made by the unit means that the drum has reached its drum life. A drum can be used with 3 to 4 toner cartridge replacements. If you have used more than that number we suggest that you replace the drum to correct the issue.
    • Why does it say "fax in memory" on the display?
      If the display shows "FAX IN MEMORY" and the machine is not connected to the computer, press [MENU] [#] [4] [4] [2] then press [0] to disable the feature. Press [SET], then [MENU] to exit. This should automatically print the data. If the machine is happen to be connected to your computer, press [MENU] [#] [4] [4] [2] then [SET] button to save it, then [MENU] to exit. This will recognize the connection to the computer and it will transfer the received documents to the computer.
    • Why does it says "check drum" on the display?
      If the display shows "CHECK DRUM" check if the drum unit is properly installed in the machine. Open up the cover, take the drum cartridge out then reinstall the drum, close the cover firmly.
    • Why I can't install the driver for my fax/printer machine?
      If you were trying to install the driver and it wont work, check the specification of both computer and printer to check if both units are compatible. If the driver is compatible with operating system, then try to restart the computer and remove the power cord then retry, if your using the cd rom and it wont work, try to open My document and find CD-ROM drive. Then run "Install.exe". If it doesn's work, try to download the driver from the website, just go to http://panasonic.net/pcc/support/fax/world.htm.
    • Why is my fax machine won't scan a doc and says on the display "pc fail or busy"?
      If you are trying to scan a document from the printer to the computer and encounter a problem and/or an error message indicating "PC FAILED" or "BUSY", try to check the connection between the printer and the computer. If everything seems to be connected properly, check the printing queue. If there's a lot of printing jobs on queue, cancel them then retry. If there's no printing job in the queue, try to restart your computer and remove the power cord and reconnect then retry.
    • Why is the cd-rom of the printer after inserting it into the cd drive does not work?
      If you were trying to install the driver using the cd rom and it wont work, open My document and locate CD-ROM drive then open it. Run "Install.exe"..if it doesn's work, try to download the driver from the website, just go to http://panasonic.net/pcc/support/fax/world.htm.
    • Why is the fax machine won't print from the computer?
      If you cannot print from the computer, you may try unplugging the unit from the power for initial reset.If nothing happens, check if the usb or lan cable is securely connected. If it still wont print, try to un-install or re-install the driver. To download the driver from the website, just go to http://panasonic.net/pcc/support/fax/world.htm.
    • Why is there no power to the fax machine?
      Make sure that the power cord is connected. Also, try a different power outlet.
