The reliable, easy-to-use
Panasonic KX-TGM450
amplified cordless system

is the home phone solution
for everyone affected by
severe hearing loss.

It simplifies everyday calling with voice volume up to 50 dB to clarify caller voices, and a speech booster to ensure that callers hear you. And for amplified calling ease and comfort throughout the house, the KX-TGM450 system can be expanded to include six full-featured handsets.

Easy to See, Easy to Use

The amplified KX-TGM450 not only makes everyday call management easier, but also more convenient with enlarged touch controls. Backlit, easily visible buttons let you choose six tones for clarifying different voice types. Plus, boost volume for caller voice amplification up to 50 dB and set ringer tone volumes up to 112 dB. A white-backlit LCD and enlarged backlit numeric call dial keypad make calling quick and simple in any light conditions.

Audible/Visual Call Alerts

To complement the system's 15 ringtone options, bright red LED visual ringers on the base unit and handsets also flash when someone calls. And together with Panasonic's Talking Caller ID, the KX-TGM450 system not only alerts you audibly and visibly to incoming calls, but also tells you who's calling in English or Spanish.

Slow Down Fast Talkers

To understand quick-talking callers and voice messages, the KX-TGM450 comes with one-touch Slow Talk control to automatically slow the speed of speech while conversing in real time. It's ideal for clearer conversations and conference calls, screening incoming calls and voice message playback. Slow Talk touch buttons are conveniently located on both base unit and handsets.

Power When the Power Goes Out

Two built-in backup batteries* in the base unit keep you connected when the power goes out. When fully charged, the batteries provide power for up to 13 hours of continues use and up to 9 days standby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Benefit for Hearing Impaired Telephone communication had become more and more frustrating for a family member. He could not hear the caller, and complained they did not speak clearly or spoke to quickly and slurred their words. What he thought he could hear, he often misunderstood. He is not tech savvy, nor patient, so I held my breath the first time he answered the new phone. He LIKES it! Smiling, he turned to me and said, "I could hear and understand what they were saying!" He continues to be pleased. A miracle and a very helpful product. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good option for conference calls I am comparing this unit to my existing KX-TGA660, handset and KX-TG7641 base unit. I live on the phone for my business, about 25-40 hours per month I do many conference calls and sometimes can't hear people who do not place their headset mic near their mouth. As a result some on the call will be normal volume while these folks are whisper quiet. It's not always appropriate to tell them to adjust their headset. This is a great solution for this problem since I can "boost" them to hear their comment and cut the boost for those talking normally with a single convenient button. The standard volume level and boost level are independently adjustable and since I typically use the speakerphone built into the handset all the time, I can also rock the volume up or down as needed. Low Vision users: Has large red message waiting indicator light built into earpiece. Also one in the base. You can't miss either. The screen letters are about 5mm high, smaller then my older phone's 8mm menu. Might be a challenge to see. Lights up when pushed. Hearing challenged: Substantially more ringtones that cover different octaves. Plays a sample as you go through them. It can be made VERY loud. Hurts my ears at highest volume, both on handset and base. Operation: Has great range and convenient mute button so I can go check the mail by the curb during a conference all. :) Like the older model, the tech illiterate may have minor difficulty going through the setup menu. Overall for those reasonably literate, setup is not a challenge at all. Custom menu trees are not an option, although Panny did improve navigation substantially. Phonebook button is one button to access. Can't jump thru entries, but holding the button down does go thru entries sequentially. You can also push 5, for example and go straight to the JKL entries. The Intercom soft button changes to "Message Waiting" when you receive a voicemail. So becomes one button push instead of digging thru menu to check voicemail. Nice. Internal phone book allows for custom groups, such as family or work. If you have a few, not worth the effort. You can also capture a caller id on-the-fly and store in the phonebook. Old phone, had to write it down and re-key it. Very nice! Annoyingly the base has none of the touchtone buttons or flash, hold and other key buttons, so if you lose the handset you cannot dial out from the base. Other observations: Handset is surprisingly heavier than the older handset 138 vs 211 grams. If you have one of the more recent (3-4 yr old or less) DECT6.0 system, it's likely you can buy just the handset and integrate it into the existing base. I did it the other way around and am using the older phones along with this amplified handset with the new base. when you associate an existing handset with a new base all the phonebook entries are deleted from the handset. I've not used the slow speech function.
