Features

Lumix® G Micro 4/3 LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm/F1.4 ASPH. Lens is designed for use with Lumix G Micro 4/3 cameras. It provides an angle of view similar to a 50mm lens on a 35mm or full-frame digital camera, and the wide f/1.4 maximum aperture can deliver beautiful, bright photos and videos with softly out-of-focus backgrounds. Built to Leica's usual high standards, this lens delivers excellent image quality with minimal distortion or chromatic aberrations, with a sturdy metal mount.

Nano Surface Coating minimizes reflection over the entire visual light range, resulting in sharp, clear images with very little ghost and flare. The use of the Ultra High Refractive index lens and glass mold aspherical elements helps the lens maintain superb uniformity edge to edge. Seven aperture blades form a circular aperture for very pleasing out-of-focus areas in your images.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fastest lens I own. A week after the purchase of the 25mm f/1.4 Panasonic/Leica lens I took a trip to Chicago and this was the only lens that I took. Now I would never tell someone who hadn't used a lens before to rely on a brand new item of equipment, but that is just what I did. It was my first trip to Chicago so it was important for this to work and boy did it. We rode around on a double decker touring bus, and I shot from the upper deck. The shots came out great and I was very happy with the purchase. When we went to an art museum it did well in the dim lighting. One photo I took of a man looking at one of the paintings turned out to be one of the best photos I have ever taken and I have been shooting since 1959. I would have missed the shot if this lens hadn't been able to lock on focus the moment I pressed the shutter. The subject was there and then the blink of an eye it was gone. I saw the photo, I took the photo and then the subject moved on. Any other lens and I might not have gotten the image. This lens is fast focusing and tack sharp. February 18, 2016

I love the effect of blur background with focus on the object and this lens help me does all that. At 25mm it is great to take portrait as well. I would totally recommend this product. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best prime for micro 4/3 I've tried quite a few of the micro 4/3 lenses from all the major manufacturers and this one delivers the pro-level quality that I require. In addition to its obvious wide aperture, it's corner-to-corner sharpness is terrific. And it's rendering of images fits into the "Leica look"camp very well which may not fit everyone's tastes, but certainly fits mine. Highly recommended! February 17, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very sharp, beautiful rendering. One of my favorite lenses for the micro four thirds system. Though bigger, a bit heavier, and more costly than competing f/1.8 and f/1.7 primes, it earns its nearly inscrutable reputation. I regularly use it from f/1.4 through f/11 and find it to be very sharp at all apertures, with center sharpness peaking around f/2.8 and edge sharpness peaking between f/2.8-f/5.6 depending on the scene. Good for a wide variety of subjects, whether the light is good or poor. November 17, 2015

Just diving into the MFT systems, and this was the lens to get...so far it has met the expectations, and cannot be happier about choosing this baby to start with the right foot! Size and weight are something to consider, but it's well worth it...Panasonic and Leica nailed it! The f1.4 is just amazing, and the construction of the lens is top class!!! June 26, 2015
