    Features

F1.2 High Speed LEICA DG Nocticron Lens
The name "NOCTICRON" was newly defined by Leica Camera AG for this lens that achieves remarkably fast F1.2 aperture. The popular 42.5 mm of middle-telephoto focal distance (Equivalent to 85 mm on a 35 mm camera) is definitely suitable for portrait with rich stereoscopic effect. Together with the high-speed aperture, you can utilize the beautiful soft focus for more impressive, creative shots. 9 blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces a smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings

Aperture Ring Control / Metal Finish Design

The inclusion of newly developed stepping motor makes the focusing action smooth and silent for use in both photo and video recording. Notably the performance of AF is by far superior to the phase-difference AF when fast lens with smaller F value is used. When mounted on the cameras of LUMIX G, you can take advantage of the high-precision, high-speed Contrast AF system.

    Nano Surface Coating

With Panasonic's Nano Surface technology the reflection is dramatically minimized at entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) by applying the extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. It results in the super clear picture with dramatic reduction of ghost and flare.

    POWER O.I.S.

Due to the shallow depth of field which is unique to the large aperture lens, even a slight handshake causes out-of-focus. However, the POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) which is newly integrated in this lens effectively compensates for not only small, fast movement but also large, slow one making it easy to shoot super clear shots even when shooting in low-lit situations such as in night time or indoors.

    MTF CHART

For the lens distortion compensation available, the horizontal axis of MTF is the distance from the center, which is compensated accordingly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for This lens is tack sharp, even wide open. Images have vivid color, high contrast, superb bokeh, and excellent microcontrast. AF is accurate and fast on both of my GX7 and EM5 bodies. However, it is expensive, big, and heavy among M4/3 lenses. This is one of the best lens money can buy, include DSLR and rangefinder lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great micro 4/3 lens Comparable to Canon f 1.2 85 mm L Eos lens, both in bulk and in sharpness. Reltively speaking. I had 1.8/85 mm EOS cos faster lens too heavy. This is not too heavy. Great resolution. Big lens, expensive lens, heavy lens, get one if you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 42.5mm Nocticron on Panasonic GH4 Not much to say other than it's an amazingly beautiful optic that just renders amazing photos. A touch on the long side for micro 43, but I'm getting to like it. The combination of a "normal" focal length with the narrower field of view adds a pleasant character. I don't regret the purchase even though it's pricey. In fact, it's worth every penny and then some.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every penny This lens has excellent image quality and is built like a tank. Even though I got it on sale and it was still expensive it was worth every penny. If you read most of the reviews online this lens is highly rated by the pros. You will not regret it if you buy this lens.

Digital Still Camera Firmware Update Guide.

      1) Preparation before attempting the update.

      A. Make sure the camera's battery is completely charged. If the battery is not completely charged the firmware update will not begin. Format the SD memory card in the camera, then take a couple of pictures.
      B. Turn off the camera.

      2) Copying the Firmware to your memory card.
      A. Download the latest firmware update for your model by clicking on the "Download Ver. X.X " link to a location on your computer (we recommend the "Desktop").
      B. If your computer has a media reader, please insert your formatted SD Card from your camera.
      C. Open the zipped firmware file that you downloaded to the desktop.

      D. For"PC" users, locate your SD Card by clicking on, or opening the"My Computer" or"Computer" on your desktop or your"Start" menu. For"Mac" users, can use"Finder" if the drive does not mount to your desktop.

E."Drag" to Copy and Paste" the .bin file from the opened folder to the drive with the SD Card showing in your"My Computer" window for"PC" users and"Finder" or"Drive" in Macs. This will copy the file to the card.

      F. If you choose to leave the SD Card in your camera, connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable. Turn the camera on and set it to"Playback" mode. Then select"PC" on the LCD screen. Drag the .bin file from the opened folder to the device that either says Panasonic or mass storage to complete the transfer.

G."SDXC cards, 32GB or larger, require special card readers. Depending on your PC, and the age of its operating system, you may not be able to directly write to such large cards. If your PC asks you to format the card, DO NOT, this is one indication that your system is not compatible with the newer larger memory cards. In this case a smaller card, 16GB or smaller should be used.
